Said it a few times this season, but this league has improved. Be it, probably with some help from the refs. Most games come down to the final few minutes, and there have been some crazy plays this year. Hopefully these games are good
Im starting to see the value in Vince McMahon scripting games. You could make most games intriguing by default, like a yearly showdown with the league's top QBs that always seemingly comes down to the last play in the regular season, only to culminate in a close showdown in the playoffs, like a match between Hogan and Macho Man, or Stone Cold and The Rock. Knowing Vince, he'd probably do something like getting a popular music artist to date one of the players, a la bringing in Cindy Lauper and creating the Rock n Wrestling Connection. Imagine if the NFL used a pop singer to boost ratings? Like imagine if the league had a bunch of snafus that caused a dip in ratings, like a player disrespecting the flag or something? Maybe even give that team a boost to keep them front and center, you can bring in that singer's fans..
Oh wait..

His contract is to play games. How come teams can cut a guy early, ask them to restructure (meaning take less money) and fans are good with that? He gets one real shot at making major money, and this is a negotiation tactic. He’s not going to sit out the season, he will be there when the games start, but people should already be prepared that he might not be seen u til much before that. Doesn’t mean he’s a villain, doesn’t mean people should turn on him (although they will), but the narrative will be painted that he’s a “bad teammate” even though there’s not a single guy in that locker room who will feel that way
Easy: fans feel they can become a billionaire at any time and could buy a team, but lack the talent to ever play a kids game for millions.

Miami. Jets and Pats will fight for the cellar. The Pats just spun the wheels taking a short armed LT that only looked pretty good, and not good at all against Agent 47.
Also, this doesnt mean I think Miami will be any good.

He's from Mich and played in Lexington KY. He just doesn't know better. Give him some slack. Real men don't use Ranch or Blue Cheese.
This is the only acceptable answer to not using Blue Cheese. Can't enjoy suicide sauce wings if you cut the heat with the BC

There is more intelligent football conversation in a TBD nickname thread than there is on any WGR show. All of those hosts, especially Jeremy and Joe, display below average football intelligence. I have no problem with Beane calling them out even though I’d prefer he had taken a higher road. His best line was reminding them they wanted Josh Rosen over Josh Allen, that was laugh out loud funny. Buffalo sports media is pure amateur hour. You get a ton better intelligent content from the many podcasters that cover the Bills, but I guess that’s part of the radio schtick.
As for Coleman, JFC give the guy a chance. No one on here saw the emergence of Bernard after we let Edmunds walk. This place was apoplectic after the draft when we didn’t snag a MLB early. We draft for character. I expect Coleman heard when Beane called him out after he played like crap post injury. It’s a maturity thing. I expect we will see a much better Coleman this season but idk if that will justify passing on Ladd.
Not to be that guy, but shock generates buzz, which generates listeners, which generates ad revenue.
The more Howard Stern you are, the better a jock you are, it's like this everywhere. Some places not so much and more on point, I've listened to them...but they're boring. Podcasters are great...but they're boring. The fact there is a 47 page thread, in a sea of countless WGR threads is the ***** point!
How many 47 page threads about Joe Marino? Or Sal Capaccio.
"But they're talking Bills football and staying on topic"
THATS THE POINT, EINSTEIN!
Mike Schopp, Coach Dickerson, Jeremy White, et. al, are just talking heads/personalities. Remember Jim Rome? Dude, it's slapping you in the face like a big pink penis. It's the same reason Trump is president or how the best era in WWF was the attitude era. The Kardashians have a top show.
Of all the examples of teamwork that Sean McDermott has used, can you name a non-911 one? Hell, none of us have ever even heard that one, but thats the only one we know.

Haven’t watched any highlights- just listened to his interview from today. I love this guy. Dude just wants to smack people. And has an economics degree from Yale.
I still have some hope for Davidson, but I’m really rooting for Hawes.
Edit: watched a little tape. He’s our version of Alan Ricard…. Just a lot smaller. He’s not just a good blocking TE. He’s an extremely good blocker. Maybe he can play the Mack Hollins role on some of those screens 🤣 I’d bet he’ll be in the league for 5+ years as a designated blocker.
Kind of feel kickoffs should be loaded with guys like this lined up ready to block. I figured coaches would put big athletic TE/FBesque blockers out there but idk if there's enough good blockers in the league like it had 20 years ago, so...
I feel modern kickoffs are meant for guys like Mike Alstott, Beast Mode, Emmitt Smith, King Henry, OJ Simpson to dominate kickoffs. NFL needs more creativeness in kickoffs, not rule changes

He won his fair share of reps, but I wouldn't say destroyed. Pretty even matchup imo
What does that say about Campbell, a supposed cornerstone, that he was meh against a more than likely rotational DE (whom I do actually like and think will work out very well).

Not that these sites are the great prognosticators but ESPN shows the Bears just took a DT who was ranked higher than our pick at the same position. Now….the Bears did NOT take him with our Pick 56. They sat there and got him with our Pick 62! I mean…..really? Why does it feel like we got fleeced?
Because you're thinking waaaay to much and putting media hype and arbitrary rankings as gold.
You draft players from good programs in the SEC who fit what you're looking for and add to the locker room. Some guys are good at finding those players, and some not, and even the good ones are wrong; we have a good one for only the 2nd time in franchise history, unless you consider Lou Saban a GM as well. Soak it in bro

3T depth is Oliver/Sanders/Ogunjobi/Carter. can't wait for McDermott to be gone. just used two seconds on the same position we traded up for last season and plays part-time in his scheme.
Lmao dude, you're gonna be waiting until his retirement. He's good for 11-13 wins a year, and as much as this is going to sound ludicrous, the moment he gets that first Lombardi it guarantees his legacy.
He's a good coach whether we agree with that statement or not. He's disciplined and runs a good ship. The locker room is more jelly than Welches. He literally used the 9/11 hijackers, some of the most infamous people to walk our soil, as a good example of teamwork making the dream work.
His job is more secure than Ft Knox.

Yeah but we got to see Chris Brown go from goofy MB guy to play by play man for the Bills.
Dude is the Cam Ward of Broadcasting lol.
But in respect, RIP flaz.

Here's my take:
Yes and No.
When is the last time we had a guy like Cook, scoring that many TDs?
Also, he cannot block, he has a hard time catching JA passes which is what they primarily drafted him for....
But he can *****in move better than most. Now how much of that is the OLine? Is it a coincidence that the 3 times the Bills have had memorable OLines, they were blocking for OJ, Thurminator and now Cpt Cook? Did the back make the line? Did the line make the back? Does this make Cook a HoF level player? Is he a HoF talent like Saquon?
Now imagine being Beane.

NFL players don't respect a nerd with no social skills who wears capri pants? Color me shocked.
He got his HC job the same way people on this MB have heard the name Ari Shaffir: he's just buddy buddy with the Shanahan Bros, like Matt LaFleur or Sean McVay, like Ari is with Joe Rogan. Not every coach will be a failure, like not every comedian will flame out, but theres going to be duds like Ari and McDaniel

I watch Bull games, and Dolac is pretty legit. He's always around the ball and always trying to make a play without getting out of position. He'd be a great pickup for backup and hopefully develops into a good starter

I have no idea how much he will get paid but I do think Beane should exhaust all options to convince him to stay long term.
Bills fans are looking at this the wrong way. They see a RB, I see a weapon. Whenever we can add a weapon I think we should do it.
Barkley certainly helped the Eagles in a profound way this year, did he not?
Barkley was pretty much a HoF bell cow out of college, and James Cook was a 3rd down gadget receiving back from one of the most loaded college teams in the country.
He can't block and he can't catch but he's fast. If he could block or catch he'd be worth closer to 15 mil but not more than Saquon or Taylor

1964 AFL Title Game Bills vs Chargers
in The Stadium Wall
Posted
We really need to celebrate that mid 60s team. That defense was historic and made the 2000 Ravens look about good. The 64-66 defense was consistently great and went 17 games without allowing a single rushing TD including the championship game.
They would've easily stopped a hungover and washed up Max McGee lol. KC got reeeeeeeeal lucky they even got to sniff the Pack's jock that day, whereas Jack Kemp's Bills would've changed history.
