So Sloth would have made a good QB?

gimme an ugly QB any day. moles, missing teeth, gin blossoms, whatever. Brady's the exception, the rest of the greats look like ****.

What coverage are you all watching? On CBS News now because they're streaming online, but hoping to jump elsewhere when it all starts

I mean she's no Suzy Kolber

Haha there's always one. Just the other day some romeo on here was calling Katherine Webb a "7 at best"...

What about trading everything for Sammy Darnold at 2? Or Rosen at 4 or 5?
I'm on board for trading anything and everything for Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield.
If they're gone, then I hope we chill and don't panic.
-
If Mayfield goes first and we're dealing with a scenario of trading everything for Josh Allen at #5, then I'd prefer this far more boring but practical approach.

Hard to imagine Beane wanting this kid.
Yeah, a loving family and a sense of humor is setting off alarms for me too.

He'll be the 4th target in KC. What a complete waste. I find him just annoying at this point.

Can you really even call a 37th overall pick a "bust" after one season? I just feel like it doesn't work, it's too dramatic for the pick. He can be "disappointing", or "not the answer" at this point but "bust" should be reserved for top-10 picks after a single season. A 37th pick doesn't really become a bust until they completely fade into obscurity as far as I'm concerned.

So it's way too early to call him a bust, got it. I agree.

Maybe we Bills fans have a soft spot for guys who got bad breaks. A little WNY bias is fine in my mind. But I get the point.
Yeah I don't mean to rain on anybody's parade sorry, I just have to imagine that simply due to training advancements, supplementation, exercise science etc. that a strong arm in 2018 is just completely beyond a strong arm in 1970.

James Harris. And it’s not even close. He did stuff on the practice field that was legend at the time.
Are we really going to act like Rodgers, Stafford, Favre, George, etc. aren't even close to some relatively obscure guy that old-timers know? C'mon...

Mahomes and Watson were still on the board when our first pick came up.
Yeah my bad, one of those posts where the minute I submitted I knew I was wrong.
Still kind of prefer White.

Should have drafted a QB....
The illustrious DeShone Kizer or Davis Webb? The three QBs even worth looking at were already taken. And then we took Peterman.
Makes me think that just hanging at #12 instead of trading up may really be the best option.
Also just realizing that this was likely sarcasm, my bad, long night

I'm really happy about the awful moves that the rest of the AFC East is making. It's like a fantasy football draft with three guys that haven't watched football in two years. Jeremy Hill? Cordarrelle Patterson? Frank Gore? Now Terrelle Pryor? Is Reggie Cobb available? None of these teams have made an offensive splash this off-season, if we can get a single game changer in addition to Shady we'd have the upper hand.

Tre White is a force. I questioned the pick at first but warmed up to it pretty quickly. A cornerstone pick for this franchise, potentially one of our best ever.

Neither in my opinion - agree with Mayfield, otherwise Barkley

At best hes bottom of round 1. Guarantee he doesnt go top 10.
I mean, you're certainly entitled to that opinion, but as of right now it's likely very wrong.

Theres nothing to get. Hes not that good. Not a great football IQ, slow at reading progressions, limited touch with his throws. Needs a ton of work on his foot work. Not a first round qb.
Dude. He's going in the first round. Look anywhere if you need evidence of this.

LOL! you're trolling right. He won't go in the first round.
Uh what? Not my choice either but he's just about top-5 lock right now. The OP isn't the only one projecting him as #1 right now, the buzz seemingly increased even more this week.
-
If it's his first start ever and it's historically awful? Yes. Your examples aren't really comparable.

I know that he isn’t the fastest guy
I think this is the issue, because this is what we need, but are there any real speed options left?

Our secondary was great last year. I could care less about Darby.

I get the point of the thread and don't disagree, but nobody should be willing to anoint Blake Bortles as an acceptable starting QB after one season of very mediocre play.
My point is that our QB situation is terrible, but many of these other QB situations in the league are far from ideal. It's not a stretch at all to think that even McCarron could join the ranks of the painfully average Bortles/McCown/Bradford/Tyrod tier.
