  1. Reich did made the right call imo, that was on Luck. 2 minutes left, this is football, you don’t play 60+ minutes to tie.

Plus he was last OC under Pederson, and last I checked Philly didn’t win the Super Bowl by playing conservative... Just because it didn’t work this time, doesn’t mean it was the wrong call.

  2. This is where a veteran backup would help Allen when he comes off the field after a play like that... Vets have seen many of these different exotic blitz packages and schemes that Allen has virtually no familiarity with... After that series he would be able to come off the field and discuss with a vet/mentor how to diagnose and change up the protections.  Instead he just has “5 pick” and a coordinator sitting in a booth...

and yeah, Lawson is a waste of space, might as well try and eat some of that space in the middle.

  3. I stayed off here all day until now. Can’t believe the ignorance blaming Allen for anything. He had zero protection, WRs get zero separation, find me one QB who looks good without those two fundemental things?  Let alone a rookie who wasn’t treated as the starter and not given starter reps throughout the entire offseason or training camp.

Rookie QB who routinely has defenders in the backfield directly after taking the snap feels phantom pressure at times, SHOCKING!!!

People need to get a grip and realize Allen hasn’t been given any tools to be successful, and wasting an entire training camp giving Nathan freaking Peterman a good percentage of quality reps didn’t do anything to help his cause.

  4. I wish I could understand the mentality of “you know what I need?... A drawing on my body...that lasts forever!!!”  I mean, too each their own, but I just literally don’t understand the justification for ever having somebody doodle something on your body that can only be removed by frickin’ lasers.

And if you do decide that your life won’t be complete without “uniquely expressing who YOU really are” in the form of permanent pictures being plastered across your body, atleast pony up to get some decent looking work, that **** is with you forever...

I agree, he does throw guys open and tyrod doesnt.

However, fitz has had more opportunities to make the playoffs and never has.

He always comes up short and has been doing it for 10 years. I'd feel bad for the guy but I think he maxed out his talent and had a pretty decent career and got paid.

He's just not a winner. Tyrod will do it ugly, but in my opinion, he's more of a winner and just gets there despite how ugly it will look. Kind of like the 2-3 zone with Syracuse.

Fitzpatrick had 10 wins in New York and didn’t make the playoffs.

Tyrod gets 9, back doors his way in, and is more of a winner?

Tyrod has some moments here and there, but Fitz with Watkins, Woods, Goodwin and Hogan would’ve won more games than Taylor, imo.

  6. Hope he can find the right help, unfortunately there is a real mental health crisis in this country.  If any positives come from situations like this, hopefully it continues to shine a light on this issue, and the lack of real help there is for millions dealing with similar issues but aren’t millionaires/athletes with the support of a multi-billion dollar organization.

  7. If I had the talent of an elite NFL pass rusher, I’m just gonna start crushing the opposing QBs... Not full Vontaze Burfict helmet to helmet stuff, but I wouldn’t hold anything else back.  They are going to call you for sacking them anyway (surprised one in particular wasn’t called yesterday, Romo made mention of it), but I’m not risking my health like William Hayes apparently did.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, might as well make the hits count for something...

  8. Dolphins are going to have a two game lead in the division...

Hopefully this is what it looks like when Tom Brady has finally hit THAT wall and not just a case of another slow New England start... Unfortunately I think Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman might make a significant difference once they are both on the field.

  9. I’d sign both him and Kap.

Kap has experience, is young, he can play a college RPO that Daboll could scheme up for him, he’s mobile and just like Allen he also has a cannon with accuracy issues... Most importantly, his name isn’t Nathan Peterman.

Oh, and once upon a time he helped take a team within 5 yards of winning a Super Bowl...

Kap isn’t great, but he’s certainly better than many other QBs currently employed.

As for the “he’s such a big distraction”, if I were McD and Beane I would welcome any distraction that would take the attention away from what a colossal **** show this season is going to be... I mean, 16.5 points dogs, and it’s only week 3, for the love of sweet baby Jesus do something!!!

  10. Glad to see he is ok, Jones is a very lucky man.

If there is any blame, it lies squarely on the shoulders of the officiating crew.

They can catch a holding penalty in a huge mess of linemen on a 2 yard run play, but fail to notice this man’s helmet missing and immediately blow the whistle???

  11. QBs miss throws, it happens... Stafford missed so many vs the Niners yesterday, definitely should’ve been a W for the Lions.  Same for Ryan in the opener vs Philly... Considering what Allen has to work with (or lack thereof) and the fact that he has no comfort level or trust in his OL, it’s silly to make any prognostications about his future.

I’m more worried about the way they are handling his development.  Pegulas should step in and “highly recommend” McDermott being Jordan Palmer on board, whatever the cost.

    We're glad too, Preston.

Speak for yourself... I would rather have a starting caliber MLB in Brown and used the draft pickS it cost to draft Edmunds on OL help instead... It was stupid to hire a coach who had no intention of using/retaining decent players, like Brown and Darby, still in the prime of their careers.
