  1. The game was only a month ago and apparently people think the defense played with only third stringers.  The defensive line was pretty damn healthy, Hyde and Poyer played, Johnson and Douglas played.  Obviously there were some major injuries, but damn, people are on here attempting to spin the narrative that the entire defense was injured with scabs in their place.

  2. I didn't know anything about the 49ers DC until the ending of the 4th quarter.  Dude was outclassed in the end so I look him up and he was the DB coach while McDermott was the DC on the Panthers.  I guess he learned something from him 😬

So you know how bad it can be.  Realistically, Buffalo were untimely injuries to Benard, Rapp and Benford away from beating KC.  With all that they were a few dropps and a missed 45 yard FG away. Your  right its failed fire everyone and it might be better but probably worst.

That's the chance you take to try and win.  I don't know what would have happened after the field goal, but I doubt they stop KC and win.  They played terribly on defense in that game just like the year before against the Bengals and the two years before that.

The excuse to sit on a mediocre head coach kind of works when the coaching market was a couple of highly touted coordinators.  That wasn't the case this year with Belichick, Harbaugh, and Carroll being available.

They won their division 4 years in a row.  I know division titles and Wildcard wins are not the goal but they havent been failures.  Mcdermotts defense has been top half of the NFL most years top 5 or 10 so his defensive philosophy is sound. We are yet to see Bradys offense.  He showed good play calling prowess so there is optimism there.  Have you followed the Bills for more than 5 years?  This was what everyone wanted during the drought years.  Every year being on the short list to win it all.  Here we are. Buffalo has top 5 Superbowl odds next year and we now need a entire new Philosophy?

    What an uninspired argument.

I wasn't old enough to enjoy the nineties Bills so they've been bad pretty much my entire life of watching football.  I want the Bills to win the Superbowl like every other fan who watches.

Who are they bringing in with Superbowl pedigree?  McDaniels? His offenses have been below average without Brady.

I'm not saying they need to bring in someone who has won 10 Superbowls.  I'm saying what they've been building for the last 5 years hasn't worked and it might be time for a change in philosophy.

Because it's that easy to win it all! Before the last Detroit game, people here have said: We can win it all if we have coach Campbell. It takes good coaching, good- great talent, peaking at the right time, less injuries, and a bunch of luck!

One of the major problems with this team for the past four years has been the coaching.  Coaching in the 13 seconds game, problems with OCs, problems with the SPC, problems with the D-line coach.  You can make excuses and say it's luck in a couple of playoff games, but this team is now way past luck with the amount of failures they've had in the regular season/playoffs.

Have the Chiefs just been lucky?  No, they Mahomes and Reid.  The Bills have Josh Allen, who outside of Burrow has seriously challenged him as the best in the league.  He's an elite QB being held back by this coaching staff and this GM.

Why does it matter? The idea is promote from with in at every business.  Unless a department is failing than you may look for outside resources.  Buffalo has had good offenses and good defenses.  The front office is highly regarded. Why not hire individuals who are being looked at by your competitors?

Good offenses and good defenses that haven't won anything.  The team is strictly following a formula that hasn't worked.

Been told over and over on this forum that the offense has been at fault for playoff losses, including last week.  Guess those people probably won't respond in this thread.

It's literally insane, if the offense played like they did against the Bengals last year then the Chiefs would have put up 40+ points with one of the worst receiving corps in the league.

What the Bills really need to "explore," is a top OC. It's what the Bills have been lacking-- a real offensive mind, who isn't learning on the job.

What McDermott accomplished late in the season with a defense that was often at times down to starting third string, and players pulled off the PS, was really quite remarkable. Brandon Beane, and Sean McDermott have built a perennial playoff team, and division champ with a winning culture that does not flinch in the face of diversity. So, now what? We're going to blow that all up for a doddering 72yo Bill Belichick*? Another defensive-minded coach in Mike Vrabel? Does Branden Beane leave too? Screw all that. Get a top notch OC-- an offensive mind who can scheme to our players' strengths, and the opponent's weaknesses. Or maybe Joe Brady grows into his job? He clearly did a better job than Krazy Ken Dorsey.

And Tyler Dunne can suck an egg.

The problem arrives when that top offensive coordinator immediately gets hired elsewhere to be a head coach.  It's going to be a constant problem with a defensive head coach and Josh Allen at QB.  If Joe Brady doesn't become the full time OC next year then McD will be on his 5th offensive coordinator with Daboll being the only guy to coach multiple seasons.

But our D (and ST) has let us down year after year, along with offensive mistakes. Scott Kacsmar makes a good point about our D, which Tyler Dunne re-tweeted:

The Chiefs only had to convert five 3rd down attempts.  They didn't punt the ball until the 4th quarter.  Despite the 37 minute time of possession the Bills had, the Chiefs only had seven less yards.  No wonder McD wants the offense to run the ball more, it keeps his defense off the field so they don't give up 40 points a game.  I get that the defense was dealing with major injuries this year but isn't a new thing.

Last year they couldn't stop the run against the Bengals, the year before that they gave up 42 points to the Chiefs, and the year before that 38 to the Chiefs.  So far the defense has only accomplished beating Skylar Thompson, Mac Jones, Mason Rudolph, Philip Rivers, and the only serious playoff QB Lamar Jackson.  Which is hilarious because they looked bad against Thompson and Rivers.

  11. Everyone is talking about the Diggs drop but I’m not seeing anyone talk about both of Sherfield’s big drops.

Sherfield shouldn’t have gotten so many damn reps this season.  Receiver was a position of need going into the season and proved to be a position of need going into the trade deadline.  Beane sat on his hands and traded for a corner.  These guys can say whatever they want in their press conferences.  What they actually do shows they don’t understand how to win.

I don’t know why people say the are complete gutted? How could you next expect this? Did you not watch this team this year? Is this your first year as a bills fan? I lost interest in going to the games this year. I had Free club seat today and turned it down! I told my buddy to take my oldest son. This is the norm for this team!!

Mcdermott even compared this team to the 13 seconds team after they lost to the Eagles.  Of course it ended up the same way lmao
