Understood.  So if the lab results from the alcohol blood test come back as NEGATIVE or within acceptable levels, I suppose the firearm charge gets tossed as well.  But if the blood test comes back positive, Oliver is toast.

Pretty much, but both are misdemeanor charges.  I wouldn't say he's "toast".  He;s in more trouble with the league and the team than he is with the law.

Okay thanks.  I wasn't aware.  Laws are different in different states, and in Ontario (where I'm from).

But...  as soon as you add "intoxication" (at any level, officer discretion) to the picture, it becomes "illegal possession"

Okay thanks for clarifying.  So if he wasn't drunk driving, it's okay for him to have a firearm in his car?  I wasn't aware of that.

Yes, absolutely legal.  No license required to keep a gun in your car. You just cant carry it around (concealed or open) without a License to Cary permit, in Texas.

As a resident in Montgomery County I have to tell you he must have been driving REALLY bad to get a complaint! It's common to drive 85-90 MPH on I45 with Constables on the shoulder. Very rarely does someone get pulled over for a traffic violation, it slows traffic.

Maybe someone witnessed him actually drinking, can to lips, and felt compelled to report that.  (I wouldn't, but some people will)

You are right and wrong.  it is legal to own a handgun without a license and have in your house or car.  You can not take that handgun out of your car without the permit.  it could be in the car, loaded and in full view - no violation.

Now if the car was someone else's then he my be in trouble.

Texas has very different guns laws than the north east US.

You're right, but I think it becomes illegal possession when you become "intoxicated" which doesn't have a stated BAC when it comes to possessing a firearm.   It's very vague.  best to not carry when drinking at all.

The fact that you carry around a weapon is demonstrating your cavalier attitude. Just sayin’.

Um, No, it doesn't.  Carrying a firearm is dead serious matter and most who do, take it that way.  You'd be glad to know one of us when evil comes around and the police are still responding.

  7. It's very nuanced, that's for sure.  There's judgment of individual play, and how do they perform as a unit.  It's about knowing your assignments, and your teammates'

and being able to make adjustments pre-snap and on the fly post-snap, reacting to stunts and crosses.  You need to watch the individual on each and every play to know if he's looking lost, or being dominated by opponents.  Does he commit allot of penalties.  Holding is a sign of laziness, desperation and bad technique, false starts are all mental, focus and concentration.  Some fans have unrealistic expectations regarding offensive lines.  With the level of athleticism on D-lines these days, nobody can block anyone forever.  3 seconds in pass pro is a long time.  Keep your opponent off your QB for 3 seconds and your good.  Run game is more obvious.  Do you open holes, or are you stoned?  Like so many others have said, as fans you know it when you see it, stats cant really tell the story.

He strikes me as the type that wouldn't know what to do with himself once he turns out the office lights for the last time so will keep coming back for more--of course, I thought the same thing about my workaholic dad, and he's actually taken to retirement much easier than I ever expected.

I understand that BB like to go fishing.

He moved out of a house in Brookline . . . and into a house in Greenwich.

Unless he plans to sign with the Giants or Jets (yeah right) he hasn't gone anywhere.

Well if they said it, it must be true because of credibility and stuff.

Greenwich, Connecticut is much closer to the Meadowlands than Gillette.  About 37 miles by car compared to 175 miles to Foxborough.  Greenwich is a commuter town to NYC.

Say what you want, but he deserved all the success he had. I've never seen anyone play QB better and I've been watching football since guys like Johnny Unitas, Jack Kemp and Joe Namath were in their primes.

I know this is a little silly, but he'd be a great mentor for Josh Allen. He knows how our offense works and he excelled at those aspects of the game where Josh needs the most work. Oh and I'm not talking about signing him as a player either.

I don't think it's that far outside the realm of possibility that he winds up a NY Giant.  Judge is the Pats ST guy, he just hired the Pats QB coach Schuplinski.  Nice cap space open for 2020, a nice low draft selection, Killer running back.  What's it take to sit Jones for another season and let him learn behind Brady?

The truly scary thing about this quote is that the source cited is the Bills PR Twitter...

Follow it, Bills source says nothing about Jones.  Roto writer not paying attention.

edit...  interesting they've already changed the error.

There's no real "lot-wide" tailgating going on at Jerry's world, if you can even afford a parking space.  You can only "tailgate" in certain spots where the parking spaces back up to the grassy areas around the perimeter of some lots.  It really kind of blows for tailgate action you'd normally be accustomed to.

The Stadium is massive and very impressive, but you'll watch the game looking up the whole time at the giant TV.  You really can't help it, no matter how hard you try to force yourself to watch the field, you;ll be drawn back up to it in no time.

  12. I think people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to Offensive line performance, especially in Pass Protection.  We can't expect any O-line to be some kind of shut-out umbrella that can protect a QB indefinitely.  They simply cannot.  Defensive fronts have become way to quick and stunting schemes have become way to sophisticated to expect an O-line to lock out a defensive pass rush.  Defenders will get there.

It's also a function of receivers getting separation and QB's anticipating and having a quick triggers.

Not very many teams out there have outstanding Offensive Lines.  Every one of them has holes.

Also, outside of Dante Scarnecchia, there's really a sad shortage of great coaching out there at both the pro and college ranks.
