  1. Nah on the toll booths. Roll right up 5 to 179(Milestrip) over to McKinley, left on Brompton, in ECC lot no more than 20 minutes after leaving.

Been using that route since late 70's coming from either the Fall or GI. Only delay is if fireman are doing their boot drive on Rt 5, slows down for a minute or 2.

Going thruway would add 45 minutes to that route most likely.

We usually stay Embassy Suites, looking at maybe something different this year for games.

Yep, that's the way to go. From North Bflo, 198 to 190, over the skyway, 179, to Mckinley, left on Brompton, left on Sheldon to a private lot behind Tim Hortons'... 25 minutes. Screw the thruway.

  2. Officiating is what it is. If our team could play disciplined football, we wouldn't need to blame officials.

Your reply makes no sense, no team plays disciplined on every play. The league has big problem concerning the refs and when it's ignored , as you are doing, nothing will be done. The Goodwin spot was a perfect example, he stepped out inside the 1, but the ref who was staring right at his feet not 2 feet away, blew the call. I guess Goodwin wasn't disciplined enough, huh. Good thing that didn't come back to bite them.

  3. Must have been late 1978. Bob Seger in The Aud. Got hooked up with 10th row or so seats by a guy (Saul) that used to sell concert tickets from a small booth in Eastern Hills Mall. Did just enough acid to make it a memorable experience.

I was there - Sept '78, The Cars were the openers. I think we were in the 1st row of the Reds, right near the stage. I remember the crowd didn't treat The Cars too well. Seger was huge at the time and he put on a great show, I think.

  4. C - Will Grant

I remember sitting next to him at the bar at the Big Tree on a Saturday afternoon in '83, I believe. It was the day before the final game, if i remember correctly, the game was in Cincy, he was killing time before the bus took the team to the airport.

He told me all he wanted to do was to get through the game without getting hurt.

I'm thinking 'classic run for the bus game'. Should've put some money on it - of course they got crushed. I think the final was 35-3 or something like that.

Never had much respect for him after that.

  5. The one thing I always tell these Stiller fans who think their the best in the league:

we had QB who lost 4 Superbowl's, and if he ran for mayor, he would be elected in a landslide. You had a QB who won 4 Superbowl's (Bradshaw), and you ran him out of town when he was washed up.

  6. 6. The refs blew the call on the field. From the positions that the passer and reciever were standing at there is just no way they should not have flagged the play. In real time speed the position of Wycheck's feet, way behind the line, and the position of the recievers feet, in front of the line, should automatically warrant a flag. There was no ref on the line to determine Wycheck's hand postion at release. Even on the best replay view, from release to catch the pass is slightly forward. It was close but had they flagged it on the field the Bills may have gotten the benefit of a non-overturn.

This was my beef about the whole thing, if you look at the replay, the ref was standing around the 20. He had no idea where Wycheck's hand was. From what I can tell the point of release was no more than a foot past the 25, and the catch was made no more than a foot inside the 26. It was a forward pass, but the ref couldn't tell from where he was and there was no camera right on the 25, and the rest was history. :censored:

  7. try tipitina's...always a good time...

    http://www.tipitinas.com/

Cafe Du Monde for beignets and great coffee

    Galatoire's restaurant

    Brennan's

I took the wife there for her 50th a couple of years ago, hands downs, the best city I've ever been to.

By all means, hit Bourbon St. Just be careful.

We hit Cafe Du Monde, House of Blues, The Funky Pirate, Crescent City brewhouse, Jean Lafittes (sp).

Funny story, we were sitting at the bar in Brennan's, the guy sitting next to us lived 5 minutes from us here in Pittsburgh, small world.

We stayed at the Monteleone, you gotta visit the bar there, the world famous carousel bar.

Oh, they have the best Bloody Mary's, green beans and okra instead of celery.
