I also don't understand how you can say he's learning the game at this level and that he's also right there when you consider other QB backups in the league - this just isn't possible. What are you basing this on?

    Arizona - Mike Glennon

    Atlanta - Matt Schaub

    Baltimore - Lamar Jackson

    Carolina - Taylor Heinicke

    Chicago - Chase Daniel

    Cinnicnati - Jeff Driskel

    Cleveland - Tyrod Taylor

    Dallas - Cooper Rush

    Denver - Kevin Hogan

    Detroit - Matt Cassel

    Green Bay - DeShone Kizer

    Houston - Brandon Weeden

    Indianapolis - Jacoby Brissett

    Jacksonville - Cody Kessler

    Kansas City - Chad Henne

    Chargers - Geno Smith

    Rams - Sean Mannion

    Miami - David Fales

    Minnesota - Trevor Siemian

    New England - Brian Hoyer

    New Orleans - Teddy Bridgewater

    NY Giants - Alex Tanney

    NY Jets - Josh McCown

    Oakland - AJ McCarron

    Philadelphia - Nick Foles

    Pittsburgh - Joshua Dobbs

    SF 49ers - Nick Mullens

    Seattle - Brett Hundley

    Tampa Bay - Ryan Fitzpatrick

    Tennessee - Blaine Gabbert

    Washington - Colt McCoy

Do any of these names come screaming out at you ?

But to keep it Peterman specific, the guy did not get through his reads effectively at all (something that was supposed to be one of his stronger suits), didn't complete throws, and yes, had quite a few key dropped passes from his receivers, but it wasn't like he was driving us down the field otherwise by making accurate throws and reads. He was hesitant to pull the trigger due to past INT issues and missed the few open windows we had on a good amount of the drives; held the ball to long and took sacks. But at least he did do one thing, he discovered the incomplete pass. Doesn't help when the OL doesn't show up either and has a day like yesterday.

Peterman is learning how to play the game at this level. Right now, he stinks.....but when you consider all the other backup QB's in this league, he's right there.

Every game he plays, he gets better at reading defenses, and he is less prone to throwing picks. I think Peterman satisfied the coaches with his play on Sunday.

Peterman was less of a problem to watch than the punt coverage team chasing Tarik Cohen around, unable to tackle him.

And what about the run Defense ? Jordan Howard gashed the DLine so bad, he had to go find somebody to run over.

Trubinski had plenty of time to throw the ball, and the slot receivers were always wide open.

And some of you have the nerve to single out Peterman as the reason for this defeat ??

    Oh please................

Meaningless wins in this lost season so nothing to help the future, the critical loss of one spot in the draft cost the Bills the opportunity to get LB Patrick Willis and later Luke Keachly.

Yes, you are so correct about meaningless wins doing nothing to help the future.

I remember the draft where Patrick Willis was taken just before we could grab him.

Let's tank, and grab the best Oline, and WR's we can find.

    I'm in..............

I'm part of this, too. Derek Anderson should just be released. He came here just to get injured. LOL Wow. that sucks.

Derek Anderson came here to carry a clip board and explain defensive looks to a rookie starting QB.

He never expected to come here to save the franchise.............come on............give him a break.

He was already retired and busy doing family things.

On the other hand, Peterman is fighting for a job, and all this reference to him having a "noodle arm" is ridiculous.

Compare Tom Brady's arm  to Nathan Peterman's.....................come on, smart guys................do it.............

In a vacuum that was not a bad drop. The problem is that it is ALWAYS a drop. I literally cannot remember a single tough catch that a Bills receiver has made in tight coverage this year. Not one. I remember two diving catches where the receiver had separation, including one today and one from Robert Foster a few weeks ago. I can easily think of five or more easy catches that were instead drops from this season. But I can't remember one tough contested catch. And an offense needs that threat. You cannot expect any QB, let alone a backup, to make pinpoint perfect throws 100% of the time. Sometimes the playmakers need to... make plays. Today our playmakers had more negative plays than positive. How can you blame Peterman for that? How can any QB be expected to succeed in this mess?

I think Peterman satisfied the expectations of the coaching staff today. He looked like an NFL BACKUP QB out there. He's still pretty raw, but he's making less mistakes.

You can't blame Peterman for the Bears ground game demolishing the Bills D. And Trubinski couldn't miss the open slot guys. Our ST was dreadful as usual.

How many broken tackles were there today ? There were stupid penalties on the Oline all game. And people are singling out Peterman as the problem ?

    That's ridiculous.

I expect Peterman to play again this year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Bills uniform next year, as a backup.

  6. Look folks, this move puts to rest the notion that the front office has given up on this season and is throwing in the towel.

This move shows real leadership on the part of McD to constantly scour the availability lists of players who can contribute NOW

and make this club into the best darn team Pagula $$$ can buy. We need to just chill out and trust the process.............

I hope they are busy working on finding a backup for Matt Barkley now. Does anybody know what Sonny Sixkiller is up to these days ??

  7. I thought he played pretty good fro most of the game.

In fact, a LOT better than what I expected.

He finally got KB to look like he should be in a uniform...........and ZJ, too!

But let's be realistic, he probably didn't get any sleep last night..............

Then, he's playing on the road with a team where he doesn't even know most of the players names.

He executed the scripted game plan for the first 2 quarters, and then...................he hit the wall............

He ran out of gas !!

    What were we expecting ?

The guy is 35 and was hoping to get a clip board job for a few months.

Then this train wreck is happening all around him.

Good grief, he's better than any other QB we have.

I heard Zay Jones interview today... he seemed excited

That's comforting...................ZJ excited...............like he and DA have developed a rhythm.............

Actually, I don't expect DA to finish the game.

There's no way he can be up to speed with the playbook, and reading defenses ? Oh please.

One good sack and he's going into concussion protocal............then what ?..................

    HEEEEERE COMES NATHAN..................again.....................

I wasn't worried about Josh Allen until after this game.  It's not that I haven't seen improvement, it's that it appears he's regressed.  He lacks any sort of pocket presence, his footwork is all over the place, he takes a lot of bad sacks and makes poor throws, his accuracy is wildly inconsistent, etc.  I can't pick anything out of his game that seems to have improved.

I have wondered for some time if the Bills' whiffs on draft picks was due to poor scouting, or the lack of a competent coaching staff to develop these players.

I am worried that Allen's support system is inadequate and that his talent is going to be wasted due to Daboll and company's incompetence.

    My sentiments................... exactly

I'm not real happy about the O play calling.

First down is often used by other teams to throw a pass.

We don't ever do that. Why ?

As far as Allen dropping his eyes earlier to the rush, I think he maybe took a couple hits that hurt him

and decided to keep his eyes on his escape route.

He's gonna get smarter eventually from not wanting to take those hits, but right now he's got a little bit of "deer in the headlights" going on.

I predict we see Allen look more like he did @ Minny and have a huge bounce back after vtwo rough starts in a row .

Zay Jones , who is quietly looking like he's developing will have a good game as well

Okay, so football prognosticating isn't your strength.

Go outside and enjoy the day.

Don't let reality rain on your parade.

    Go Bills !

5 - Allen was off today.  He had a lot of low throws and missed a critical 3rd down throw to a surprisingly open Benjamin.  The game plan was to run the ball, but to not break 100 yards is scary at home.  You can't blame the pressure today as Allen had more than enough time most of the game.  But honestly, I don't know what I'm seeing from him to make me believe that he can be the guy.  It's not just the talent around him.  It's not just Daboll.  Truth is, I don't know what it is.  Probably a little of everything.  But right now, I'm not feeling much better about Allen than I did when he started game 2.

I share your feeling of trepidation, but remember, Allen is like watching your son when he was a teenager. You hope for two steps forward, one step back.

Except it doesn't always work out that way. He's a big, bold, cocky, son of a gun, we know that. But is he smart, like Brees, and Rodgers, and Brady, and many more?

We won't know that until maybe 5 years from now, if he's still playing. But if Terry Bradshaw can enter the HOF, this guy can too. Not saying he will.......

but it brings a new type of angst every Sunday watching him............better than watching TT hunt and scratch for yards..........Go Allen........Go Bills........!!!

After watching the 2018 Buffalo Bills melt against the Packers on Sunday, I was sad, dazed, and confused.

After watching Mahommes tonight, come from behind and win a game for Andy Reid, I'm just MAD !!!!

I am sooo sick and tired of seeing other teams draft guys who are quality players after we draft guys

who are traded for draft picks 2 years later...............WTF ???
