Apparently Whaley and the team were serious about fixing the problem because since coach Sean McDermott was hired theres been a noticeable lack of information leaking ahead of official statements made by the team. For example, there was very little advanced notice by any media outlet when offensive coordinator Rick Dennison was hired on Jan 19.
Dennisons hire was not reported by anyone in the media more than a couple hours in advance of the official team statement, and LaCanfora even got the hire completely wrong.
Does Lacanfora get anything right?

Lots of experience. No complaints. keys to next year are keeping tyrod and fixing the D. Draft a qb in rounds 2 through 4 for development purposes with plans to sit him for 2 years.

Yep. Have ten other qbs drop out and you have a pro bowl qb. I like Tyrod and absolutely think letting him go would be a huge mistake but the pro bowl is a joke.

7th in points after his last start. I dont have a problem if they draft a guy but they are nuts if they let him go. For all you he cant lead a team from behind people. Eli Manning who is sixth on the all time list with 30 had a grand TOTAL of 5 4th quarter comebacks his first three years as starter COMBINED!

The time for the thanks yous and appreciations have passed. Yeah I get it, he massively over paid for the team but at the same time hundreds of fans deserve better than to watch two franchise who are simply NOT COMPETITIVE.
How many years of 7-9, 8-8 and maybe 9-7 do we have to tolerate? How many 27th, 29th, 24th finished for the Sabres is enough.
Season ticket holders, ticket buyers, sure it entertainment but at the same time how about being competitive and actually trying to compete for a championships. Doesn't this fan base deserve that.
Screw your idea of being appreciative for the Pegula's. If you don't know what you are doing, just own the team, sign the checks and hire people to do the right things. At the end of the day the Ronney family doesn't run the Steelers day to day operations. and they don't interfere in the football department. Al Davis said it best - Just win baby!
As far as a curse on the Bills. It comes from Doug Flutie people. the day we removed him as starting QB was the day this franchise starting seeing the dumpsters fire. That first benching game, was the Music City Miracle. We haven't sniffed the playoffs after that date.

Running a pro sports franchise is hard. Winning championships is harder. Boston Bruins with good ownership went 40 years between championships. Rangers and Flyers spent millions when there was no cap and got few results. Patriots pulled one completely out of their ass with Brady. Jerry Jones has made more moves than Bill Clinton since Jimmie Johnson with mixed results.Rex was a mistake. To their credit they recognized it early and spent 16.5 million to correct the mistake. They seem to be on the fence about Whaley. I think he gets one more year. They want to win. They are smart people. It may take ten years but i predict a chamionship for both teams in the next ten years. Likely sooner. They are learning the ropes. Much more experienced good owners have gone decades without a title. Everyone needs to calm the f**k down.

I agree 100 percent but if Tyrod Taylor is your guy you say that. Whaley should have said it at the presser. Were close. We like Tyrod. Were gonna exercise our option, keep him, and fix the defense. They havent said that. If you love your qb or even like him youve already done that at this point. I think they are nuts if they let him go. Is he perfect? No. But hes the best qb weve had in quite a while.They still can.
Fix the defense and keep the same offensive pieces and philosophy in place and they can.

To suggest a rebuild, one must have something built in the first place. I don't see us as having built anything other than shove x player into y position. There is no indication that anything was built, more like a bunch of tires thrown on top of each other randomly....
Gotta disagree. Biggest mistake last year was Rex trying once again to ram his defense down our players throats. If we had a coach with a brain we might have made the playoffs. Offense was seventh in scoring before benching tyrod. This team could have made the playoffs with some decent coaching on the defensive side of the ball.

I don't understand this thread. They can't get rid of enough of the talent to actually rebuild. Contracts and age prevents them from dumping these players. Not to mention the O Line is solid and under contract. That line + Shady is always going to generate some success - at least enough to avoid a 3-13 season and a #1 pick.

That prospect doesnt exist. It doesnt exist in any sport. But you have a better chance finding that guy picking first than you do picking last. If I have to explain that one we are clearly wasting our time.Already did. I don't care about QB vs. Center in theory. Give me the practical 100% certain prospect to target who's a guarantee to declare for the draft in 2018.

Id rather take my chances at the top of the draft than miss the playoffs 17 years in a blanking row drafting tenth every frigging year. And for the record. I want them to keep tyrod. I thinks its a huge mistake if they let him go. But the lack of vocal support out of OBD leads me to conclude they are letting him go. This team could make a run if they fixed the GD defense. Switching back to the 4-3 is a start. Draft defense 2 of your first three picks. Sign a bargain free agent like Alexander or Brownn Your right there. But the lack of vocal support about picking up the option is ridiculous. They know exactly what theyre doing. They just dont want to say it.
Who's the 100% can't miss, guaranteed John Elway like QB coming out in 2018 who's comparable to a franchise savior like McDavid? There is none worth blowing up a mid-level team like the Bills. This ain't Hockey!

When was the last time Terry pulled a successful tear down and rebuild? In his current one he's 1 1/2 years in still in last place.
Wow. 1 1/2 years? Thats it. The rebuild is a flop. Funny. Took Gretzky five years to win a cup. Crosby four. Toewes and Kane together three. But we all thought the Sabres would do it in 1 1/2. Sounds reasonable.
I doubt we can trade EJ for a deflated Patriots game ball.

Thats a good question. Probably the same reason Darcy lasted one year to many. If your not keeping the qb and you dont have a logical replacement you should clean house and bring in all new management and coaches. Pegula might have every intention right now of keeping Whaley. But if they are tanking I think public pressure will wind up changing Pegulas mind. Just like it did with Regier.
