I would argue that Kelvin Sheppard and Kiko Alonso were hits because they became valuable trade assets. Sheppard was traded 1-for-1 for Jerry Hughes and Kiko was traded 1-for-1 for Lesean McCoy. In my view these are hands down hits and doubly so because the front office had the sense to leverage these guys for top players on time.

Yes, ended Favre's career and also put a huge hit on Brady after he left the Bills (but not huge enough)

Compare that bad Sammy trade to this one: Rams give us a 2nd and EJ Gaines for a 6th and Sammy in order to target him 70 times (39 catches for 8 TDs and 593 yards) then lose him to free agency.
Makes our trade-up to get Sammy look positively brilliant.

And when they made it to the Super Bowl, their chances were 1 in 10.
Actually 2 in 11, Elway won it two years in a row to go 2-3 lifetime.

Once again, referencing a draft from 35 years ago to what a team should do today is asinine.

Bills should have taken Kelly at 12 and Marino at 14. Used Marino as trade bait.
What's the matter, you didn't like the Bills taking Tony Hunter ahead of Kelly?

The QB class of 1983 was legendary, with 6 quarterbacks taken in the first round. Three of those first rounders are in the Hall of Fame. But the interesting thing is the order that they were taken:
1. John Elway
7. Todd Blackledge
14. Jim Kelly
15. Tony Eason
24. Ken O'Brien
27. Dan Marino
Imagine how upset the Miami fans must have been to settle for Dan Marino at #27. Clearly the Chiefs, Pats and Jets thought that they made better choices. And the Dolphins' message board (if one had existed back then) or the mock draft gurus (if there was such a thing) would have been talking about how Miami needs to trade up to get their franchise guy.
Two morals to this story:
1. Make sure you don't take a Todd Blackledge instead of a Hall of Famer
2. Even Hall of Famers don't necessarily win Super Bowls. Of this group, only Elway won a SB and not until 1997, and not until he had lost 3 of them. Collectively they lost 9 of them.
So everyone, R-E-L-A-X

Sad to think that the 20 minutes you spent writing that are lost to you forever.

Any game in which Nate Peterman throws a touchdown pass is worth rewatching. Both of them.

It's not just custom. It's proper punctuation. "Bills" is the team name. "Bill"s" indicates something that belongs to Bill. If you were talking about something that belongs to the Buffalo Bills, it would be written as Bills'
Well, that was my point but I didn't want to sound like a dick.

The custom here is to drop the apostrophe when writing "Bills"

Can't see the team paying TT a $6 million roster bonus just to mentor a young QB for a season.
Vikes have 3 starting QBs, I'd take any one of them as a stopgap.

Sign Jimmy G at any cost. Wouldn't that be fun vs. New England twice a year?

You can't possibly blame that on the QB! The stupid WR actually fumbled it to the defense.
Who cares?

In what had to be the best 5 minutes of the Bills' 21st century, Kyle Williams scores a TD and within moments - on the other TV - Joe Flacco throws a pick-6.
Of course all of that was surpassed later in the evening...

The fate of the Bills is in the hands of Andy Dalton. That's a scary thought.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU GUYS? HE'S A PRO BOWL FULLBACK. I READ IT ON THE INTERNET.

I confess. I watched every minute of this.
Think how much time I could have saved, 17 years x 16 games x 3 1/2 hours.

And don't forget James Harris, who had a perfect 0-3 record as the Bills' starting QB.
Fun fact - Gale Gilbert is the only person ever to be on the roster of 5 straight Superbowl teams.
