People said the same thing about Andy Reid in Philadelphia LOL and he's not a different coach

Sometimes it takes years and years to build the team... Andy Reid has had 11 years building his team in Kansas City.. Sean McDermott has had 7 years

Andy Reid went to a franchise that was actually good in the 5 or 10 years prior at points.. McDermott took over a team that won 17 years with no postseason

    Worst drought in sports

Patrick mahomes worst record against any franchise is the Buffalo Bills

We certainly can beat them anytime any day it just hasn't felt that way.. like wide right or 13 seconds

We're not far away from beating them and we absolutely can win super bowls

    THIS!

Bills fans need to realize that as injury-depleted as their defense was for that game they only lost by a missed FG. They had a guy off the street who was going on vacation with his family starting at linebacker...and even he was hurt during the game and needed to sit out a few series. It was just crazy bad luck how that Buffalo defense has been so injury-riddled the last two seasons.

I had my doubts about McD before he beat the NE Patriots and until 2020 the McD Bills hadn't beaten them. Then they swept the Patriots in 2020 and literally destroyed them in the playoffs in 2021, 41-17.

The only team with more wins over the last five seasons has been the KC Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills have beaten the Chiefs in the regular seasons in 2021-2022-2023. I have faith that McD will get it done.

  2. Man, Von went to Beane and asked to reduce his salary for this season from 17.1 million to around 8 million, allowing the team to sign many players.

That's a good guy in my view. If he returns to his 2022 early form he should have a great impact. This team needs a pass rush. How about we wait to see how things go?

  3. Man that Jacksonville game in England really, really screwed this team with so many injuries. Milano, Knox, Jones, Miller. All these injuries during the 2022-2023 seasons upsets me more than the 13-second debacle. Nobody's fault, just stinks.

It was kind of amazing how well Buffalo played against the Chiefs with so many defensive injuries. The backup linebacker who was just off the street was also injured and sat out a series or two....and went back in... That 27-24 playoff Chiefs loss and it came down to a missed FG. Just think, if the Bills had a better receiver corps during that game they might have won it. I think that they have that this season.

Should Von Miller regain his form in 2024 then Buffalo will have a strong pass rush.

I think that the Diggs move is addition by subtraction. His diva mentality and sideshow antics being gone will breathe new life into everyone else on the offense. That being said, it remains to be seen whether our WR group can get it done in his stead. I'm not going into the overall WR discussion again because I've already made my thoughts known. Hopefully Knox can get back on track and clean up the drops. Hopefully Kincaid takes a big step forward. Hopefully this forces Josh to rely on his checkdown options at RB more in Cook, Davis, and Johnson. Brady LIVED off of taking what the defense gave him for 20 years. Can Shakir turn into our "Amon-Ra Lite" with a heavier workload? Josh could have his best season ever if he takes what the defense gives him at all times. If he insists on forcing the ball downfield then he could run into turnover problems and give all of the bobbleheads more reason to say it was Diggs who made him. Hopefully we see the full maturation of JA17 this season and consistently takes what the defense gives him. If he does, then he will be pretty much unstoppable and it will be his best ever.

    This!

I love what Joe Brady called against the Chiefs and Cowboys with the run game. My take is there will be a learning curve with the new faces. Although a two-TE offense with Josh under center with play action could be the best thing this offense has seen in a while. Knox, Kincade, and Shakir will do fine moving the chains, and that new RB Davis will help punch it in. Good things!

  5. I have two areas of great concern for me in 2024 with that first place schedule. A pass rusher is #1 after losing Leonard Floyd for sure. The primary concern is getting to the QB to disrupt the opponent's offense.

I keep going back to that Chiefs-Buccaneers Super Bowl game while watching Mahomes running for his life all game long. What a joy to watch...even if it was Brady as the winning QB!

The next area is center as that player usually calls for the offensive protections and is the key to how well that interior performs. The Chiefs drafted Creed Humphrey who has become the very best center in the league while that Chiefs interior doesn't allow anyone close to the QB despite their crappy tackles.

Buffalo's center position is a great concern because no matter how well the Buffalo receivers play...it won't matter if Allen can't get them the ball. I realize the Bills have a plan to replace Mitch Morse. I just don't see it yet.

Agree that they had no choice but to move on from Diggs.  Fixing the cap was also important.  Note that I specifically said my lack of Coleman enthusiasm was NOT his 40 time.  My concern is his ability to get open - something he didn’t show a lot of in college.  He is young and a great all-a round athlete so upside is intriguing.  If he can become a very good route runner, he might be outstanding.  Still, not a lot of guys with his profile really excel in the league.

Works for me! Look at some of those catches!

I think the question I had at the  Draft was , why Coleman. Beane seemed to answer that in two ways

No calls happened to move into mid early first.

And it seems Allen is a Coleman fan.

    I hated it.

But am now much more open minded that they will fit him in nicely. Spreading the ball around seems to be the mantra.

Hope Brady excels at just that.

Not thrilled. Not overly skeptical either.

     Go Bills

Watch this kid as it was what sold Beane.

Slowest 40 in the group of WRs and fastest of all group 8 at 20 MPH, next-gen stats. He was the single fastest WR of out there catching balls...and he caught every one!

Pretty balanced and fair summary.  Like you, I’m not completely sold on Coleman- not because he ran 4.61, but because his college tape doesn’t show him getting open a lot.  Now, he is just turning 21 and he is clearly a tremendous all-around athlete, so those both point to possible significant upside.  I’m hoping that he turns out to be great, but we will have to give him a few years to see.

I think the balance of the Bills’ draft is promising and made sense.

They have picks stockpiled for next year, after that draft I think/hope that they will be right in the championship mix again.

Go back and look at that kid at the combine! Beane was happy he ran a 4.61 because he knew it would drop his stock a bit. The kid plays faster than his 40. I can't wait to see him in action.

On another note, this team needed to dump Diggs as he was no longer getting it done and his playoff play was terrible the last few years. The Bills have some excellent receivers that will all get involved. Wait and see.

  9. Also, Bills fans need to understand that at the end of the last few seasons, the Buffalo defense has suffered numerous injuries. Besides, the Buffalo defensive line was a supposed strong point, and yet against the Chiefs, they only had 2 QB hits from Groot and Lawson, and no sacks.

This team needed a purge of older, expensive veterans who were falling on their faces at the end of the season. Diggs was one of them as his targets didn't decline from the first of the season to the second half, but his production fell off big time. Plus, he would turn nearly invisible in the playoffs.

In my view, Buffalo had an amazing draft and filled many holes with some very talented players. So the team didn't draft the guy most Bills fans wanted at WR. How about we wait and see what this team looks like in preseason? Relax and have faith in the guy who found and drafted QB Josh Allen.

Am I the only one who thinks the derogatory name calling is childish?

Yep, he is talking about an NFL head coach who has the 2nd most wins over the last five seasons. The #1 guy is Andy Reid for the KC Chiefs.

    So, consider the source.

  11. No, it won't!

This team has gotten close to an SB but no cigar mostly because the aged veterans fell off the truck at the end of the season. Diggs in particular because he saw the same amount of targets and did much less with them than he has done in the past. In the playoffs, the guy has gone invisible for the last few years.

Against the Chiefs Diggs, had 8 targets with 3 receptions for 21 yards. Does that look like #1 WR numbers with an average salary of 24 mill per? Gabe Davis was the 49th-best WR in the NFL in 2023. 17 games and he didn't look like a solid #2 WR. Buffalo needed new younger blood in a lot of areas.

The Buffalo defensive line was supposed to be a solid force at the end of the season and yet didn't do anything against the Chiefs 0 sacks and only 2 QB hits, Groot and Lawson.

This team needed some younger, less expensive players and the Bills found some in this year's draft. Keon Colman should be a huge upgrade over Gabe Davis and might even look more like that #1 as time goes on.

My take is this team takes the division again this season and most of you Bills fans might be surprised at how some of these new players look like.

  12. Some Bills fans need to understand that the old way of signing worn-out free agents is no longer a viable option. So instead Beane is going to the draft instead of the free agent that doesn't get it done at the end of the year. Worn-out retreads aren't always the answer.

    Beane knows what he doing.

  13. Diggs was great during the first half of last season and not so good in the second half. He was still getting the majority of the pass targets and wasn't doing as much because of the OC change. With Bubble screens and such. Diggs wasn't happy about the switch from Daboll to Ken Dorsey either at first.

However, it's about winning games and not attempting to make one player happy each game. Joe Brady looks like a huge upgrade to Dorsey / Daboll in understanding how to utilize a running attack along with a passing attack.

Diggs, I suspect he was about to become a very large disgruntled pain in the ass to the team with his diva-like behavior...again. I highly doubt any other receiver on this roster is going to start yelling at the QB, leave the locker room early to avoid the media, or not show up for team practices.

Even with all his baggage I'd think that this FO would have kept him had he shown any ability to make some big plays during the playoffs. When the competition got tougher he disappeared from the playoffs the last three years.  That last Chiefs playoff game. 8 targets for 3 receptions for 21 yards...one fumble. He dropped a big play pass too.

    Josh will be ok. JMO

The downside to that is you are going to pay out a big contract. If you hit on a rookie, you can use that money elsewhere in constructing a roster. I think the top 3 have pretty high floors, along with high ceilings. I'd rather risk it, if it is the choice you offer. The other option of staying at #28 or a smaller trade up or back has its own calculations.

I dunno. Trading up into the top ten for one of the big three might cost a whole lot more than Aiyuk who might only cost next years #2 and later picks. Trading into the top ten this year would probably cost this year #1 & #2 AND picks next year...and nothing in the draft is a sure thing.

  15. As I posted in a different thread. If Buffalo is going to use up some draft picks for a trade...I'd rather see them trade for SF WR Brandon Aiyuk over some rookie who may or may not ever become the #1 WR that Aiyuk already is.

    • Disagree 2
  16. I would much rather see the Buffalo Bills make a trade with SF for Aiyuk than trade the resources to move up in the draft to take one of the top three. Aiyuk is a sure thing #1 WR and not a maybe or someone that might take years to develop into a #1...if ever.

  17. Brandon Aiyuk, 6'' 200lbs. Drafted by SF in the 1st round #22 overall. Four-year player 26 years old.

2023 stats, 105 targets, 75 catches for 1342 yards, 7 TDs, success % 70.5. The catch percentage is 71.4%. 12.8 yards per target. The #7 rated WR in the NFL last season. Diggs was 13th. Gabe Davis was 49th.

Aiyuk is a clear #1 WR, no question.
