Non superstar type RBs are a low level commodity in today's NFL. If MG is not retained they will find another guy. Kind of like if the Bills had put a 2nd round tender on MG to guarantee they kept him in the fold for 2017. The Pats would have just went out and signed another guy. And he would produce, and they would still continue to win.
Exactly, give me the 5th I will take the lottery. Not like we have Brady and need to sign as many players as we can before he retires... We have Tyrod on another trial year.

Told you a 5th can replace MG... Who cares about now. I want a chance at something over what we already know. MG won't help this team make the playoffs but a 5th round pick even @ 1% looks to be a better future then a 2 year backup. Either way this team still loses to the Patriots.

Trade down with Cleveland, then trade down again with Tampa or Denver.
Would love the Bills to come away with a later 1st rd pick, two 2nd rd picks and two 3rd rd picks.
Why would Cleveland trade with the Bills?

We do not make the playoffs WITHOUT a good backup. He is a VERY good backup. Shady WILL miss some time, so unless we have a better option than J Williams, I'd pay the man. (Williams looked surprisingly slow to me. I expected too much maybe.)
They did fine with MG and Karlos as backups yet they need a good one for some reason...
The offensive line makes these average guys look good. Like I say many times look at MG highlight tape and watch how big the holes are

Fact - Mike Gillislee's career 5.62 average yards per attempt leads ALL NFL running backs in past 50 years with at least 100 rushing attempts. Not paying this guy will result in a major, MAJOR mistake!!!!!

Bills strength is the running game.MG was a part of that. NE has many strengths, so no. MG is better than that fifth round pick.
I would take the 5th over a backup average RB. I want potential, this team doesn't make the playoffs with a backup.

Pats Pulplit covered this in depth, I was wondering how the locals would perceive this move. I don't think many of us realize how well Gilly stacked up in all those advance metric stats. I will try and find the article when I get home.

I would rather have a 5th round pick then pay MG that much money... He wasn't good, he had great holes to run through though. Thankfully we didn't lose any of the O-Line.

WEEK 3 DENVER 3-0 No QB, Travel across country and the Cowboys defensive line/Elliot will be putting a hurting on Denver's D-Line.
WEEK 4 @ ATLANTA 3-1, good draft and they will probably be back in the Super Bowl
WEEK 5 @ CINCINNATI 4-1, Good Match up, I think they can make Dalton play worse than the Bengals and Tyrod.
WEEK 6 YUM!
WEEK 7 TAMPA 5-1 This game should be fun to watch. I have a win just b.c our defense should be much better

All this Trubinsky talk from them makes me think they are trying to 1) they are jacking up Trubinsky's value, motivating SOMEONE ELSE to make a move on Trubinsky early, so that 2) Trubinsky is THE smokescreen and they are targeting another QB with 12 or later - Watson? (insert another name)?
