  1. I have not watched any pre-season so please excuse my ignorant question.

    - does Allen have Happy feet in the pocket.

    - does he step up in the pocket and go through his read progressions.

    - is he bailing early and running.

-is the term (McBean) on this board used in a derogatory way. If so, how many wins will it take for it to stop?

  2. Taxation can be viewed in one of two ways:

    1) That it is acceptable to rob a man at the barrel of a gun, and take from him what he has earned.

    2) That a man doesn't actually own the fruits of his labor, but rather that the fruits of his labor belong to the state, and that the man is a slave.

Neither of these are moral arguments.

That basic concept of taxation itself is immoral.

Without taxes how would you pay your city/county/state/federal employees? I'm not talking about the politicians, I mean police/fire/teachers/garbage men.

  3. Come on people! Trump really didn't mean wiretapping as in wiretapping:

    https://news.google.com/news/amp?caurl=https%3A%2F%2Famp.cnn.com%2Fcnn%2F2017%2F03%2F13%2Fpolitics%2Fsean-spicer-donald-trump-wiretapping%2Findex.html#pt0-825061

"Spicer: Trump didn't mean wiretapping when he tweeted about wiretapping."

Come on! Just give Trump a chance. He really doesn't mean all the things he says.

    You entertain me.

    http://www.politifac...s/donald-trump/

According to Pulitzer Prize winning Politifact, which fact checks statements made by presidents...Donald Trump lies 50% of the time ("False" and "Pants on fire" statementst). If you throw in "mostly false" statements, Trump jumps to a whopping 70%. 70% of his statements are lies !!!

For comparison's sake, Barack Obama lies 14% of the time, or 26% if you throw in "mostly false" statements.

There's a stark difference there. So Tapper sounds just exactly correct: Trump requires a lot more fact checking, because he lies at a much greater rate than Obama. Not opinion, statistical fact.

    So?

  5. There are too many promises to list in one post that Trump made to his voters that he has already broken, 64 in the first month alone according to one count, and there are sure to be more to come. Feel free to add to the list.

    https://thinkprogress.org/trump-broke-64-promises-in-his-first-month-in-office-5470f2c337e1#.irk3vax2n

But to just mention a few at the forefront now are those related to Trumpcare. He promised his supporters that the replacement bill would lower costs, improve care, and everyone who wanted healthcare would be covered. No have access to, but covered. In addition there would be no cuts to Medicaid. But the Trumpcare bill he supports "100%" does none of those things, and is actually a huge tax cut for the wealthiest. His talking heads are already out trying to downplay the CBO estimate (run by a Republican appointee) because they know the numbers are going to be the opposite of what Trump promised. And the ironic part is that this Trumpcare bill will actually hurt Trump voters more than Clinton voters, especially those in rural areas who depend on more government subsidies.

    And?

  6. Anyone knowledgeable on how doctors in countries with a socialized medical system get paid? Are they considered federal employees? Are they paid similar to our government employees, based on rank/GS level and time in service? If so, is that not a large reason why doctors from other countries come to America in the first place? If we go to a socialized medical system does the government have the ability to cap the amount they will pay for services provided by doctors, also capping what doctors are able to earn? Is it probable that this could push future medical students into fields where their income potential could be higher and also greatly reduce the number of doctors coming in from other countries? Do we not already have a shortage of doctors in our country?

Please excuse my ignorance, I'm hoping someone smarter than I can educate me.

  7. Naw bro, I was made rear D commander for that go round.

I had just had a baby and the Army lady doctor said she had a life threatening disease and they rear-D'd me as a result. Turns out my kid was fine and she's 9 now!

It ended up kinda being the thing where I decided to end my Army career. They wouldn't send me to the board because I wasn't deployed, so I said screw you guys, I'm going to USAREC and then going home.

Been out 5 years, got a degree in History (god bless the GI Bill), and I opened up an HVAC company a couple years ago and I'm rolling. Transition was hard at first, but I got my feet under me now.

Sounds like things worked out for you in the long run, congrats.

  8. But Tom... It is the Fed. They just love to "standardize" things... Everything "done the same way" nicely put into little boxes. How do you get around how the public sector is legally obliged to opearte? The USC Code is uniform. It simply can't operate like private sector.

I mean tell me about. Even @ my job, every lock & dam throughout the nation uses a certain commodity code system all because only The Soo Locks were using it. It makes absolutely no sense. And on top of it, The Soo doesn't even keep things in real-time. Same with the God awful system that standardized things 5 years ago.

The Fed just loves "neat and tidy"... Until the wheels come off due to "over-organization."

I heard the same thing as a child. The "Big War" vets were more entitled than those wimpy Korean/Vietnam Vets.

    When will the infighting stop?

    Every generation goes "soft."

Crazy... I simply refuse to play that game, yet do get sucked into it from time to time.

You missed the point. Any soldier from any generation who served honerably for 20+ years and retired deserves the same benefits and entitlements that I do. Those that haven't, do not, the generation they are is not relevant.
  9. BFLo VA is one of the better VAs in the country. My father has been going there over 50 years.

Now Hines (here, outside Chicago)... Nothing but horror stories. Well, that is what I hear.

I use the VAs in Nashville and Clarksville, TN. Both are top notch, no complaints. I think the problems of years past have mostly been fixed. My experience is that today's complaints are mostly kids bitching about services they can't get and haven't earned.

  10. Off topic and I apologize...I think they perpetuate the attitude of entitlement we suffer from today. I think they're insular, self-congratulatory, undemocratic, wholly unAmerican.

Do you think it's possible that private schools could offer a better education than public schools? If so, do you think those that can afford it should have the option of sending their kids there? If not, why?
