Section…..at some point Von is going to have to produce. Was he even in on the final Hail Mary? I don’t believe he was.
Putting Von on final Hail Mary makes no sense even in his prime. It is not fitting to his skill set.
I am sure some will point as reason why Coach McD should be replaced.

Good article on the foundations that have allowed the Bills to reload instead of rebuild.
I think sometimes we are too close to the situation to fully appreciate what we have. For as much as people want to crap on McD, he's one of the best in the league and we'd be hard pressed to replace him with somebody equal, let alone an improvement.
Clearly the crappers will disagree but they are obvious in almost every thread they are saying he should be replaced.

I don’t see how McDaniel isn’t fired in Miami. When you’re hired to beat Buffalo, you’re going to get fired for thoroughly not accomplishing your hiring parameters.
Owner does not want to pay out the contract and he has high priced players which fit his scheme.

We have a great local chain here in the Northern Virginia area called Great American Restaurants. It's about a dozen spots, the food is always good, the service is excellent and you leave feeling you didn't get ripped off...our nights out usually consist to those restaurants.
Since you live in Annandale you are lucky for Duck Chang has the best Peking Duck in area. It is a restaurant presidents have eaten at. We have been going there for almost thirty years. The original owner Duck Chang, who passed away in 2005, carved my daughter's first Peking Duck at our table. His son Peter Chang runs restaurant and his other son had a restaurant in Alexandria which has since closed due to owner's health.

I probably ice with 2 timeouts - i don't know that you can do much after that other than a hail mary with 5 seconds from the bills 49. I guess you can try a short pass timeout thing to try your own 60+ FG. Either way you only need 1 timeout. Sometimes icing works, sometimes you give them a practice kick and it doesn't.
Buffalo waited til about 1 to snap it there too, if they didn't get the snap off they'd probably punt. Calling an ice timeout there might have also prevented that.
Bills would love for Phish to ice with two timeouts - it is an unsportsmanlike penalty and would make kick shorter.

What is worse? NOT winning a Super Bowl?
With Josh on the team we arent winning less than 9-10 games even if I were the head coach.
I agree after Bills are a little league team.
We would be praying for Rex Ryan to come back.

There was no holding on the Allen TD run that called it
this is a big mistake and thry should be docking the officials on this call when it comes to working playoffs
The only way we will know is if those referees are working playoffs or not.

It wasn't that long ago that one jerk poster said Bass was never any good the whole time he was here. Dude has won a lot of games for us. Thanks for a reminder.
There is no need to remind us us jerks; they regularly return like acid reflux.

Seriously? Tua was 25-28 and the Dolphins ran for over 150 yards. Other than the play you referenced the Bills only stopped them once and that was on the 1st series when Tua dropped the snap. The defense was absolutely atrocious yesterday
Quotehot garbage on that side of the ball from beginning to end
I disliked and now disagreed with what you said because you exaggerated to make it a point meaning your argument is weak.

A joke? Or do you really think he is that good, has that much potential?
I have no idea!
He is a very good tackler and has attributes to be able to do it with one of highest ratings but has he learned the scheme yet?

Yeah that was one of the more inept defensive performances you will see. The Bills were hot garbage on that side of the ball from beginning to end. It was borderline embarrassing how soft they played.
I am sure you think the calculated (he let ball carrier pass him rather than tackle him) punch out of football was hot garbage with Elam recovery was garbage but I don't.
Maybe you meant hot garbage plate .....
9 minutes ago, Utah John said:The refs, as usual. Both of the holding calls against the Bills at the end of the first half were bogus, and they turned a Josh Allen TD run into a long FG that salvaged some points, but geez guys, what's wrong with the refs? Later on whenever Tua was back to pass on slow developing plays, he had massive time to pass and there was holding on every play. The penalty against Poyer was an actual penalty but considering the timing of it I can see how the Dolphins were not happy about it.
They were unhappy about it like Mahones and his childish fit on penalty for lining up on wrong side of line of scrimmage.

Yea nobody wanted him to fail, because that means the Bills fail. he was failing just fine on his own.
his job is to make kicks up until that 61 yarder, he was one of the worst this year at doing so and fans were rightfully pissed.Lots wanted him to fail for they care more about getting rid of McDermott than winning because "he can't win in playoffs".
-
I am sort of surprised they did not lift him up and carry him on their shoulders.

Bass definitely deserves major props for today.
I mean, we all get a little nervous when he is asked to kick anything, but he won a lot of hearts today and won us the game.

My financial guy used to take me out to classy places all the time to discuss my finances and every time i would offer to pick up the bill, he would always pay it......every single time.
The one night we went to a fancy restaurant and then went out to see the strippers and i went to pick up the bill and he pays it again, the whole bill.....i told him that i didn't feel right that he always paid, and he says, "I'm YOUR financial guy, handling YOUR money......it's YOUR money that is paying these bills".
Once that light went on and the realization hit home, we went to coffee shops after that.
True story.
Usually financial guy is getting commission of some sort as part of his job especially if it is a no fee one sometimes paid by product you are buying. We bought $100K in annuities last week and we had to choose between class A which there was a commission up front and class C which there was not. Class A in addition to the voting rights had a higher promised return rate and higher cap. I asked him to calculate some time figures and he did the reports for the two we comparing and after 7 years the projected returns were higher after 7 years. With savings goal of 10 years it made more sense to buy the Class A.
His face was straight but I could tell he was happy about it. He did a lot of work getting previously annuities transferred ensuring tax savings are not lost so I was happy he was going to get a commision but he has never bought me such a meal.

And this year his TD is early. He does the dirty work, has always been a reliable receiver (71%) for Josh as was Lee-Smith - one TD a year unexpectedly usually in spectacular manner with other catches when defenses do not respect him. A 26 yard TD in 2022 and a 15 yard one in 2023. I expected he may have been a target since they were going with three TEs with the other TEs hurting Phish before.

Darrin Lee is going to be a linebacker who will last a long time in this league with his hybrid versatility. I promise! Just needs more time.
Darron Lee (sp) skipped court case in April 2023 and nothing has been reported since.

As is usually the case, this was our opponent's Super Bowl. And to add even more fuel Miami must be so sick of losing to us. They played a great game.
I want to see how much fuel there will be when Bills beat them 20 in a row like what happened to Bills but I doubt it will happen as long as Miami has an imbalanced stadium environment not like any other team in league. Clearly this helps (inflates) their home record and some smart inventor could make money helping teams visit there counter it.

JB, Cowher, Nate Burleson, and Matt Ryan ALL commented on this in the post-game. They were quick to say they weren't taking away any of Diggs importance to the team while he was here, but every one of them mentioned that Allen looks more relaxed, confident, at ease with his role as a leader, and that he has demonstrated tremendous growth in his game this season when he can just concentrate on getting the ball to the open guy and spread it around.
they left out " when one of them is open".

Generational QB talents like Josh Allen are a blessing for a head coach but also a curse, Allen is an automatic playoff ticket every year he’s healthy.
Now everyone is expecting a championship and at a certain point a change must be made if that goal isn’t reached, even though anyone being honest will concede McDermott is an excellent head coach, he’s gotta go.
That talent level of Allen demands all stones turned and all roads travelled to reach that goal. I don’t think anyone wants the next Shula/Marino playing out in Buffalo.
Allen is already getting commercials like Marino did when he was injured and out for season.
Coach McD could learn to call Belichick 'Beli-Cheat' like Shula did if necessary.

It is a week to week league. The Dolphins offense is DESIGNED to attack our weaknesses (short passes, strong run game, insane speed, lots of screens, etc.) Their offense is really good when it clicks. Tua played the best game I've ever seen him play (and still lost to us).
So what you are saying is he needs the Bills under a magnifying glass trying to burn them to win....

Give him the ball on some jet sweeps, like we used to give to McKenzie.
If he is having feet problems putting in role McKenzie had he likely those maneuvers would mess up his feet more.

It is the most likely scenario to me. Douglas is looking for the last big pay day and he's not going to sign a one year kind of short term deal. It's probably the reason the Bills just added a void year in his contract restructure, not plain extension, like Beane heard the expected numbers from Douglas side and didn't feel the need to negotiate on the re-structure conversation. I do expect the Bills to draft a CB somewhere next year but Elam will be the de facto starter to start the 2025 off-season.
I thought Elam actually played fine today. Not great and not bad. He did get fooled by Hill double move, but Hill can make almost every CB in NFL fooled there, with Tua practically throwing quick passes all day. In fact I felt Elam's recovery speed showed up on that play, like McDermott said in the post game, within a whisker of defending that pass.
Can Elam become another Rasul Douglas - a late boomer in NFL? I don't know. He seemed to be lacking natural instincts of where the play is going to be. As he moves around NFL, learning different systems, getting more experience of playing, he might be a capable starter. But superbowl hundary Bills don't have time to wait for that to happen.
Do you think Elam can grow long enough whiskers?
What do you think dog?
