  1. The way the skill positions are shaping up, it reminds me of the OSU offense. If it is, They are going to make the defenses defend the whole field, have a huge playbook, have the ability to win one on one matchups, and hit you with deep passes when you overcommit to something else. It does not require an elite passer but it does require a very good OL, big time playmakers and a capable passer with a big arm and mobility to scare the D into thinking you are a risk to run as the QB at any time. I am interested to see the OL shape up because I think it's the key to the whole thing.

you are a smart man YOLO! Have an up vote... Oh wait it's not reddit
  2. The knock on roman was a complex scheme that was too "wordy" http://www.49ers.com/news/blog/article-2/49ers-to-Simplify-Offensive-Playbook-in-2014/9bfca2c7-c32e-46ef-8ab5-05dcd763a024The complaint out here was that kaep couldn't spit out the play call and the audible in time and kept having to call timeouts at crappy times. I hope the verbiage gets simplified. I think EJ will start as a continuation of the original plan. EJ's rookie year gets thrown out and last year was his sit and learn year. They signed Cassel as an insurance policy. I think that's why we didn't see any big moves for a QB. I'd bet that Roman likes EJ's potential and thinks he can make a better version of kaep. That said, I love our youth but we need a starting guard and then we need to draft either a big receiver (Funchess), RB David Johnson or a LB. Dynasty building is tough these days and we need to take advantage of these guys before it's too late and they go elsewhere when rookie deals run out

  3. These are good points, but I'm going to harp on one thing (again): The Bills were really 8-8 team last year, not a 9-7 team. If the final game had meant anything to the Pats, barring an act of god they would have annihilated the Bills.

i disagree, Brady played the first half and we were winning. No Dareus the whole game and all they could do is run. If you are going to hand out excuses for losses then how about the Chiefs game with Bryce Browns fumble or the raiders game because of that lucky TD run?

I think the Dolphins implode this year. I think that they will be last in the AFC EAST. I think Philbin will lose his job. I think It's Tannehill's last season as the starter because they will do so poorly that they draft a new QB with their top 5 pick in 2016 draft.

  4. Good with him and Scott, they should drop about ten passes a game....... Okay now I got that out of the way, damn and eff The Effing f Cheaters*

may the patriots have many "Atlanta Falcons vs. Bills in Toronto" finishes to their games.

At some point, you have to consider cost for every position grouping.

While it's fun to think Daddy Pegs has an infinite checkbook, IMO we want to be in position to sign a franchise QB in 2016 (if one comes available), extend Dareus, Gilmore and Glenn and possibly resign Harvin if he has a monster year. Striking a balance between some lower cost depth players that will give us more flexibility beyond 2015 is just smart roster management, IMO...

Mario Williams contract will effect this but I agree
  5. Percy doesn't make sense to me. I would have drafted a WR and spent 6mil on a guard. How are we going to spread the ball around to all these WR's in a run heavy offense? Also, rumor has it that Harvin wants to be a real WR. Rumor Also has it that he gets a little cranky and locker room cancer-y when he doesn't get a lot of touches. Questionable move to me that reeks of a "Rex Ryan mistake".

On the flip side I think the incognito signing was great, especially considering the price. He'll behave. He knows what will happen if he doesn't

  6. This is stupid and another sad attempt to put EJ down. Of course at this point, you have to take Tannehll. But here's their first 4 games last year:

    Tannehll - 93/ 155, 60%, 902 yards, 5.8 ypa, 6 tds, 3 ints, 2 fumbles, 0 rushing tds. W-L: 2-2 http://www.nfl.com/player/ryantannehill/2532956/gamelogs

    Manuel - 76/131, 58%, 838 yards, 6.4 ypa, 5 tds, 3 ints, 1 fumble, 1 rushing td. W-L: 2-2 http://www.nfl.com/player/ejmanuel/2539228/gamelogs

Seems like 2 young qbs who got off to very similar starts. Except our gutless coach benched our guy and the Miami coaches, despite whining by fans and media, stuck with Tannehill. And he improved. Tannehill has Aaron Rodgers' old OC and a guy from Chip Kelly's staff. We had guys who worked with Ryan Nassib in the Big East who turned a 9-7 record into assistant coaches jobs with the Jags.

But there is one place EJ is clearly ahead of him. He's one and zero versus him. In fact, the only Bills QB to lose to Tannehill is the veteran upgrade and your hero Kyle Orton.

    i see your points 😎
  7. I think what you described is exactly why he does want Clay. Watch some videos of Clay, he is not a typically tight end at all. He's slightly undersized to be the Gronk-nobody can stop me-type. Miami actually lined him up as a HB and FB on occasion and he carried the ball out of the backfield successfully. He can do that while also lining up as a TE and he's fast enough to get open on inside slant routes and such. Roman wants him because of his versatility and the misdirection we can use him for.

i agree I think Clay along with Grey will make Roman happy as long as we add a blocking TE (cheap free agent or draft)

  8. I live in the Bay Area and the idea that roman is tightend crazy is just not right. He barely used Davis last year http://www.nfl.com/player/vernondavis/2495826/careerstats, he's more of a fullback/Hback guy. He likes roll out passes coupled with play action. Lots of slants and vertical routes some deep outs. Might favor EJ a lot. Not many slow developing deep crosses from the pocket like Marrone...err uh Hackett called. I'd bet that he likes Grey a lot. Not saying he wouldn't like Clay

  9. I have the feeling that it's clay. Harvin is a smoke screen. Think about it, we dropped two tight ends. They want to fake completion to drive up Harvins price (belicheat) but we HAVE TO GET CLAY now as the draft and free agency suck for tight ends. It will be a very outlandish deal for Clay and I don't think he will live up to it. We HAVE TO GET A TE AND A GUARD. We don't have to get a WR.
