    1) Run the Ball. Yesterday the Bill's run game looked great. Let's keep it up. Must go heavy run. Regardless of score. Just stick with it. Ivory and Murphy looked great yesterday.

    Carries 22

    Yards 135

    Average 6.1

    2) Make a commitment to Peterman and give him only safe outlet throws with a few shots down the field. He gets rid of the ball quickly. Allen comes back when 100% healthy unless Peterman gets hot. You can't play a QB who wasn't even at camp. Anderson is here to teach. Not to play. And enough with losing locker room if Peterman plays. He didn't play yesterday and they were blown out by a 1-5 team.

    3) Lean on that Defense. Sure it gets exposed at times but it gets turnovers too.

    4) Special Teams must step it up.

If they do these 4 things they will be respectable and you never know if they get hot they might stay hot.

Lastly, trade McCoy and Benjamin if you can. Worst case the Bills don't get hot but they clear out a bunch of cap space.

The season is far from over.

SOunds like a midget league football strategy.

  2. Fielding grounds balls in the spring indoors in the gym. Coach liked to hit as hard as he could. Got lazy and put my throwing hand in front of my glove and the ball hit the tip of my index finger. Picked up the ball and threw it in only to see an arc of blood follow the throw. Didn't hurt, then.... Only a line of red under my fingernail. Went to the ER where doc squeezed the tip from the sides and I saw the bright white bone that was supposed to be within my finger pop out and with the nail now at a 90 degree angle. The pain came with the anesthetic when he jammed a needle under the nail. Repeatedly.... The worst pain I ever experienced. He ripped the nail off and sewed the skin back around the bone.  High ankle sprains, broken jaw, breaks, shot in the neck, nothing compared with that experience.

That part of NYS tends to be an extension of NYC in its sports fandom. Met Life is closer by an hour and the Giants used to have their training camp in Albany. This map is a bit old, but it gives you an idea of the limited geographical reach of Bills Mafia.

Unless this map is so old it pre-dates the Jets, this map is not very accurate. Jets are Long Island at least. Eagles space too small. Bills goes a little further and definitely goes into Canada so it is misleading. GB and the Bears are about 50/50 along the Wisconsin/Illinois border. I bet there are other issues too.

There is certain "Degenerate" in Horseheads that would disagree... "Not even close?"

I think it may be time to rename Horseheads anyway. The name is quite insensitive. Horses the world over are offended.

What if the O-line prospects aren't as good as Bosa?

The last 2 "future HOF" LTst the Bills draft were a TE and a @2nd rounder.

Save 1st round picks for game changers.  It's what smart teams do.

Any individual OL would likely be a Bosa, but this team has too many holes. 1st round game changers like Sammy? Watkins was drafted with the fourth overall pick after we traded our first round selection (the 9th pick), and first and fourth round selections in 2015.  Game changer, right! If we trade out of a top 5 pick, we wouldn't get a high 1st and use it on an OL. More likely a mid to lower 1st and a 2nd and 3rd or another 2nd in the next year. That's three value picks for a single gamble on another WR? Bad idea.

Since '86, the Bills 1/2 round picks of OL which I felt were worthy include Will Wolford, John Fina, Rueben Brown, Eric Wood, Cordy Glenn, Dion Dawkins. The only huge miss was Mike Williams back in 2002. There are lots of misses on game- changing play-makers.

With the exception of the Eagles, the top 10 OLs in football all have at least one and most have two first round picks anchoring their lines. We can get mid-round and even late round gems to sprinkle in , but the line needs a foundation of talent. Badly. Smart teams get a franchise QB and then build from the inside out to protect and then exploit his skills.

  5. I really hope the Bills turn it around and contend for a playoff spot, but I really can't see that happening for a while. A top 5 pick is  quite likely. We have our QB and now need to build at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the the ball. No more high round DBs, WRs, etc until this gets fixed. RBs can't run without holes, QBs can't throw without time. DBs can't cover all day. It will take a couple years. Trade out of top 5 and stockpile later rounds and later years. Talented OL are tough to find in FA.. Draft OL and sign DL.
