I lived in CA for 30 years, doing business in the Bay area for 25 of them. There will forever be nice parts of CA because not even its supermajority can screw up a good view.

A lot of people mock CA, but you're absolutely right. You can get great food there. And when you're done with dinner, you can walk into the local grocery store and just take a dump in the aisle without having to pay for the toilet paper.

    That's being woke.

Wow - I’d say you crapped the bed on this post

  2. Hey - I’m a former buffalonian who’s lived in the Bay Area 30 years. Stop painting such a horrid picture when you have no idea what it’s like here va there. It’s not all rosy but we have great food and I can still watch the bills with ex buffalonians who are far more awoken than post of you posters

  3. I agree with commentators who said that you need your best playes on the field. However, Burfict WAS out of control and somehow the coaches were not able to rein him in all game long. All this despite what this message to the Bungle players which was totally ignored:

A quote from Cincinnati Bengals founder and former coach Paul Brown scrolled all this week on monitors in the Bengals' locker room. "The key to winning," it read, "is poise under stress.

Lewis (like Rex) is 100% responsible.

Burfict was out of control for most of the game. He needed to be benched.

Do that, and a) it sends a message to others on the team (e.g. Pacman) that if you unable to control yourself then you will not have the privilege of playing and b) it would have most likely prevented the fiasco at the end of the game, and would have preserved a Cincinnati win.

  4. I have to admit feeling some guilty glee over the Steelers win last night. I lived in Cincinnati in the late 80's, was ridiculed and had things thrown at me for wearing Bills regalia, and have no love for their Hudepohl-chugging fans (Hudepohl is their local beer, which makes Genny taste like fine champagne). Obviously Cinci fans still have no class, as evidenced by them cheering when Ben R got hurt and throwing garbage at him as he was carted off the field.

I admit the refs blew the call on Pittsburgh for an earlier helmet on helmet hit. But the Burfict hit on Brown was a really dangerous blow to the head, well after the play ended, and totally uncalled for. Add another penalty for Bungle players losing their cool (plus the horrid turnover which led to the last drive), and it was game over.

To add to a prior post, I'd rather be a Bills vs a Bungles fan hands down. While some commentators like Merrill Hoge (he of the horrid suits and ties) are defending coach Marvin Lewis, saying the has no control over what happens between the white stripes on the field, I DO hold him responsible for his teams total lack of discipline and an NFL record 0-8 in their most recent playoff games.

You should also note the Bungles haven't won a playoff game since 1990 - far longer than the Bills. I'd rather see the Bills try hard and play right, then to TOTALLY BLOW a playoff game in such a pathetic and embarrassing manner. This loss will sting and Bungle fans will be kicking their dogs this morning and stewing on their bile for months to come.

  5.

I watch him play against as soft as puppy poop schedule and still look below average. He still makes plenty of mistakes and has a candy arm. He has decent stats this year as a reflection of the lousy teams they have played. So what! He still sucks.

I disagree - don't put the blame on Tyrod - he's met or exceeded expectations.

Put the blame where it belongs - on a D that now ranks close to the very bottom in the league, excessive penalties showing poor discipline, and Rex

  6. TO Buffalo Beeeews, I'd say "Bully" for your spot on comment

I agree completely with the OP. I just can't listen to more of Rex bull **** and hate how he stands up there every week antagonizing the opponent and then goes out and gets molly whopped. His defense is offensive.

So does this mean you're going to change your icon, NorCalBillsSabres?

  7. Man, some of the excuses I've read here over the years.

Now its going to take years for Rex Ryan to implement his defensive scheme? What? Rex Ryan was handed the keys to the #4 overall defense, and they are currently 20th. He took over the NUMBER ONE team in the NFL in sacks, and they are now 30th!!! This when the Bills added the probable defensive rookie of the year in Ron Darby?

The guy is the very same loud mouthed bum that I was laughing at last year when Marrone / Schwartz beat the NY Jets 43-23. Then just before the second game he stated his Jets team would play 1000% better in the next game against Buffalo, and was blown out 38-3. His team went 4-12 last year, and he blamed it all on the GM, and QB. Ryan looked lost on the sidelines in NY, and now he is here in Buffalo. :bag:

Spot on comments!. Rexmay be funny and genuine in front of a camera but this doesn't excuse his incompetence and poor coaching. He is who we thought he was

  8. Lots of good posts on this already - I'm only adding to them and calling Rex out.

From the incredibly stupid decision making on red flags, to the misuse of what was one of the best D-lines last season, to way too many penalties and poor discipline on special teams - it all starts with the Coach.

To reiterate another post - Rex is who we thought he is. He's taken a team with a legit shot at the playoffs given their talent and weapons and simply misused them.

It's hard to be a Bills fan - you can say that it's not over but this was a must win game. 16 years without a playoff game is more than old and physically hurts. I'll continue to watch but this is like picking at a scab. I hate having to find my inner Zen after watching them lose a game they could have won.

But if you're not buying into this, then you might prefer the WGR-Z piece disputing this ignominious victory - guess with the degisnated drivers than the "true" fans are getting twice as drunk!

Why is sit every thread you don't like, you've got to throw your 2 cents in every time..

    Give it a rest already.

If you lived in Hemet, you might understand John's curmudgeony behavior

  11. WhyTF is every publication focused on "5 Things"?

You might as well ask what Mel Kiper Junior does when there's no draft going on, why Cosmo almost always has a front page cover highlighting 5 ways to drive your man crazy, why book titles have become so formulaic (STUPID TITLES - HOW THE BOOK INDUSTRY TRIES TO GRAB YOUR ATTENTION), or what is the meaning of life (the wiz knows - he became a waiter! its not much of a life but...)

  12. Holy barnacles batman - no idea it was this bad. I disrespect plenty of the Whine n Cheese 49er fans and don't really care if they win or lose to the Green Machine. I guess the loudness associated with the 12th man up in Sea Chicken land has some bad baggage that comes along with it.
