  1. I love the Sammy pic, I however wonder if we didn't get duped on the compensation for the pick. I saw reports yesterday that Atlanta was going to give a 3rd round pick to Jacksonville to move from 6 to 3, but Jacksonville, who was ready to make the deal, bailed in fear that someone else would reach up and grab Bortles before they got a chance.

You can say Watkins was the best player in the draft, but we still took him at 4 and gave up WAY more than Atlanta was giving up to move above that.

I think Whaley made a desperate move and got taken a bit. Now I just hope to hell Sammy is so good that next year we don't care.

  2. If you look at some of Guiton's big runs in college, you see an interesting athletic prospect. I'm seriously thinking wideout. Good height. -Former basketball player. I'm curious to know how well he catches.

Seriously thinking wideout? Trade him to Cleveland. We have enough.
  3. No, I didn't. But I did watch a lot of them, and I read a lot, and I listen, and I remember. And I strongly believe that if the writer of that article did the same, he would not have come to that conclusion without context. It's very valid to say that he is not likely to gain the YAC on screen passes in the NFL like he did in college.

But that seems to be the thesis of the entire argument why his play may not translate, and that is simply flat wrong. That implies that is all he can do, or the major element of his game that does not translate to the pros. But that is not at all the major element of his game. It was in his senior year because, as has been stated a lot here, Sweeney decided to take what was given to him. In fact, Watkins said after he was drafted he didn't even like doing it, he wanted to run the regular routes and looks forward to the Bills so he won't have to run as many screens.

    When was Sammy a senior?
  4. Trading away Stevie Johnson has to go in the decision. We now have to rely on the questionable Mike Williams and having a 6 foot nothing receiver be a #1. We have no size in the receiver position not a way to be successful in todays NFL undersized receivers with no TE

Dumb comment and a bad beer. How tall was Stevie? Count the number of tight ends on the roster.
  5. Drafts next week here is my best guess.

1.Houston....Clowney DE (ATL might trade up but I doubt it)

2.St. Louis... Robinson OT best lineman in draft.

    3. Jags .. Manziel QB.... They don't have a QB, they have to pump up the fan base .

    4. Browns.. Mack LB Pettine smiling ear to ear with this pick.

    5. Raiders.. Watkins WR Raiders have to be shocked to get him here.

    6. Falcons.. Mathews OT Have to protect Matty Ice

7.Tampa Evans WR Tampa needs weapons and Evans will help big time.

    8. Vikings Carr QB A Reach here but the Bills did the same thing last year.

    9. Buffalo Ebron TE Best player on the board that can help the team day 1.

10 Lions Lewan OT Need to protect Stafford.

    no trades in this mock.

You call pick 16 a reach for Ej. Ebron is the reach!
  6. I don't want a QB in the draft. Too many rookies in the stable. we need to pick up some veteran who will not compete for the starting job, but provide guidance to EJ. Place Tuel on the practice squad and keep Thad.

We don't have to use up a draft slot, and can other players for filling needs and adding depth.

There isn't a veteran worth a crap that could teach Ej. Ej has his own coach now.
  7. From what I can tell, TBD as GM's off season would have looked like:

Cuts (or trades, but for who, I don't know):

    - Marcell Dareus

    - Kyle Williams

    - CJ Spiller

    - Steve Johnson

    - Scott Chandler

    - EJ Manuel

    Additions:

    - Brandon Spikes

    - Vince Wilfork

    - Michael Vick

    Re-signed:

    - Jairus Byrd

    Draft:

    - Johnny Manziel

    - ???

    ---

Personally, I'm glad we have who we have as GM, and not the "wisdom" of TBD as a whole. ;)

How about all those get rid of TJ posts
  8. LMAO ok thanks for coming by and gracing us with your Presence. BTW you are a GM or scout for who again? That said The experts across the board have said you can get a good Starting RT and Guards into round 3 and its fact. I am not going to go re trace the last couple months assessments by everyone for you, but they have said it, I don't guess, speculate or just pull statements like that out of my butt. As for as other solid facts, NO team or GM worth a damn drafts RT's in the first round. Now they plan on these guys being LT's and some end up not living up to potential and being RT's but you just do not get a RT in round one period. And I am with another poster that if Whaley and company take a guy to play RT in round one when we can still upgrade LB, TE, Safety etc. I have to say they are worthless and I am done with this team. Fortunately I don't feel Whaley is anywhere near that stupid. My personal choice is to trade down at least once and get more picks. Address LB, TE at that point, and in round 2 Grab a RT and maybe more if we have another 2nd rounder like last year.

The only think more stupid than taking a pure RT in round one (esp in the top 10) is taking a punter at #9.

    Or a TE
  9. Maybe I am crazy. I am crazy. I look at a list like this, I read these reasons, and I then say..."nah, we can't get rid of him because..."

    1. I don't think we will give up on a WR after just 2 years, and at the least he is a good gunner on special teams.

    2. I just want to give up on him. I didn't like him at first, then I liked him, then I very much liked him, then I could not stand him, now I am ready to give him one more little bit of like.

    3. I don't even remember who else is on the roster for QB.

    4. Caussin, well, was just resigned, as you said.

    5. We are the Bills. We will keep 2 QB's and keep 2 Kickers just because we are the Bills.

It is not fun being a Bills fan, but is it interesting looking at who might be cut when it comes to the 53.

    When was Graham a gunner?
  10. that is what is funny about this draft. We keep hearing everyone say no one will be there at 9. Its beginning to sound like all the 400 some players will be drafted by #9.

    Out by 9

    Mike Evans

    Mack

    Sammy Watkins

    Maziel

    Clowney

    Bridgewater

    Lewan

    Jake Matthews

And whoever else I am forgetting.

Odd are one of them slip. But it could be those 8 above go first

These 2 are not in the top 8
  11. I'd say mid-late 1st round, or a 2nd and some change would be the likely compensation for Byrd. The Bears, Packers, Bengals, Steelers, and Eagles all have a tremendous need for a safety. Byrd is miles better than any safety in this draft and still young. Why wouldn't a team want a "sure deal" franchise safety with their 1st round pick? Seems logical to me.

Then way don't we keep him.
