We won’t hear from the humorist again.

    Thanks.
I agree with the objection to the humor and I found c-troop's response to input to be pretty poor too.
I wanted to object publicly but didn't want to feed the troll.
The Moderators make TSW a great place to talk about our beloved Bills.

Having a competition was fine. They wanted - very very reasonably - to sit Allen for his first season or a great deal of it. Would've helped him a lot. The injuries and poor performances unfortunately eliminated that possibility.

And with Allen sitting, of course they wanted a competition.

How can someone be the obvious choice when he can't beat out Peterman? He can't. Because he wasn't obvious or a good choice.

The problem was not bringing in a vet the minute they got rid of McCarron. They should've kept him or replaced him with a grizzled vet.

I do get the frustration. Man, this is hard to watch, really really painful. But this stage of a rebuild always is. Bills fans have to bite the bullet and watch for development.

Until that comeback in the fourth pre-season game, McCarron looked as lost against back-ups as Peterman has looked against starters.  I know in theory it was foolish to trade McC, but his performance was really poor in the pre-season.  I was shocked they got a pick for him.  On the other hand, you can't wait to bring in the vet, once the trade was made.

Through the same number of games this is how they compare.

    Rex

    12-13

    McDermott

    11-14

    1

The difference in the salary cap is massive when comparing those two eras.  When Rex came in, the Bills splurged in Free Agency, essentially forming a geriatric all-star team.  When McDermott came in, they had to "pay off the credit cards" from the previous regime.

If Rex had to purge cap instead of eating up the future, he'd have a different record.

It used to work without being on home wifi.  Back when it was still time warner.   And I thought that was the whole point....being able to watch games on the road, out of town, at your second home, on vacation, etc.....

Since it doesn't work, how does one watch the game on a pirated site?

I've been able to watch stuff away from home on my spectrum account.  You just can't watch local broadcasts away from home wifi.  Are you in the Buffalo viewing area?

Did I miss the part where the WRs started playing more poorly after Allen came in? The EXACT SAME THING happened in the first half, arguably worse, but that's just because the QB was bad. No one caught a thing, and Benjamin was jogging short-arming passes the whole game. The biggest difference was that the first half was against a starting unit trying to win, but by the fourth quarter it was a glorified 5th preseason game.

It's so bizarre to me that the first half blame is on the QB, but the second half is on the WRs when the WRs didn't change, and their play didn't decrease. They were awful start to finish. If that tipped pass to Logan Thomas goes for a pick that's on him, but the slant route right to Benjamin who got outworked is just another pick for a QB we hate.

I think Benjamin will probably get an earful when they review the film of Peterman's two picks. I'm not defending Peterman, but I'm not so sure KB was working too hard for him either.

Peterman really does have A lot to prove before he is even Fitz. A QB with 27000 passing yards and 170 TDs

I had to look up those stats to confirm!!! I could not believe that Fitz had that many yards/TDs.  He really has proven himself to be a legit QB...Not elite by any stretch, but definitely legit.

These 2 win predictions and worst in league are going to look pretty dumb at the end of the year I figure.  Too bad there is no accountability in the media.

This defense will be much better than any of the media gives it credit for...fringe top 10 in a lot of categories and McDermott and the staff will have them ready to play just like last year.

On offense I think having a real OC and a QB that's not afraid to make mistakes will help open things up for shady.  Everyone assumes the defense will key in to stop the run, which worked when Taylor was QB but AJ or Josh will actually throw the ball over the top if they stack the box.  Yes our weapons are questionable at WR...but clay and oleary are quality pass catchers...cadet and shady are very good out of backfield, Kerley, Jones and Benjamin are not terrible especially in a Daboll offense.

We won't light world on fire but 8 wins is doable.

How can they be required to eat crow...I thought they all took a buy-out and left BN?  ?

  8. This is a little different from the OP's intent...but it points to his longevity.  I remember how he always took a long time to get up from the ground after a run.  He'd fix his socks, adjust his pads, etc.  I always thought it was a way to cover up injuries so that teams couldn't target the injuries he sustained.  He took a beating from all those carries!

BTW, not sure if it was mentioned but Happy Birthday Thurman! I found out earlier today that he and my eldest son were both born on May 16.

Wait...you didn't know your sons birthday?  LOL

It was a team effort. Defense could not make stops. Reed dropped a pass. Talley missed some plays. It was a great game, someone had to lose sadly, and it was us.

If we played that Giants tam 10 times, we probably win 8. That Sunday the Giants got the better of us.

I'm pretty sure we would have won 9 out of 10...and that makes wide right even harder to digest.

A lot of these experts are crying about the two second rounders that they used to trade up to 7....

Plenty of pre draft mocks I saw had them trading up to 4 or 5 to pick Allen giving up both first rounders and more...

It appears that these guys are fixated on them giving up too much to get to 7, but would have been happy to give up more to get to 4 or 5 for the SAME player...

It is fascinating to watch revisionist draft mockery get revised right before our eyes!  Anything for a click.  Besides, it's easy to take shots at the potential "Ryan Leaf."  If he flops..."I told you first!"  If he succeeds..."Aw shucks, but boy I'm happy for him!"  It's a no-lose situation for sports writers.

Healthy, for one game, I'd take Gronk, however, at this point in their careers, I'd take OBJ.

Gronk is by far the best TE in the game and one of, if not the most difficult matchups in the NFL, while OBJ is great, he isn't that much different than many of the top 10 WR's and doesn't change the O gameplan the same way Gronk does

Unhealthy for one game, I'd take Gronk!  He'd still play if the game was the SB and he was even 30% healthy.
I can't stand him, but he's a pretty tough dude.  OBJ, on the other hand...no confidence in his guts at all.

Yeah, but he didn't say any of that. He talks why great QBs are rare and why being an NBA player would be better for your body and pocketbook...but nowhere does he say that most QBs are white or that most NBA players are black.

Even if he did...so what? That's merely an observation...not a discussion or an argument or even a point of view.

Maybe you should take a reading comprehension class, Sparky.

How does that work?  You concede the very concepts to which I point your attention, yet declare that I need a reading comprehension class?
The point of my "Hardwood Classics" jab illustrates the point.  The OP didn't need to declare the predominant racial makeup of the NBA nor does he need to explicitly remind us of the QB situation in the NFL.  Those things are obvious to even the casual reader.

What was the thought about ethnicity?

I think that the OP may be conflating ethnicity with "color."   Color is only a few cells deep.  Ethnicity is generally considered to be a multifaceted collection of traits, both material and immaterial.  I believe ethnicity is a more popular term because "race" and "color" have become loaded words.

Assuming the OP was "right" about 5 NFL QB's hiding in the NBA, he may be on to something.  I think that's a HUGE if.   This is the dilemma US Soccer, Hockey and Baseball have all faced on the international level for decades.  The talent follows the money and for whatever reason, American money has supported the NFL and NBA more faithfully than the other larger sports.

Regardless, I hope the OP's got thick skin, because I can see this conversation spiraling out of control in a hurry!

Because he's not on the Bills' board and they hate him. OR because he's #1 on the Bills' board and they don't want to give that impression. OR because he knows other teams are parsing his every word because they think he might speak 100% truthfully to the media for some reason even when he has no incentive to do so, and he knows that if he doesn't mention Jackson, another team will interpret that to mean he loves Jackson, and may therefore try to trade ahead of Buffalo to get him, but little do they know that this is all a ploy to get someone to waste a pick on Jackson, because they have no intention to draft him anyway!

So yeah, back to reality. Read nothing into his comments.

So which one is our GM?

If one does that they have no idea wtf is going on as internet tough guys banter back and forth about some misunderstanding in how someone read their post.  It's mind numbing.

But that's the product of an open forum.  Follow the logic...
Morons are posting stupid stuff at an incredible pace.  So fast, that it is darn near impossible to find useful stuff to read in posts.

Therefore, we should give the same morons freedom to create equally stupid threads on their own, because that will make it easier to find the good content.
I don't think that's gonna get it done.

You have to learn who is worth reading and who is just gonna waste your time.  Be a discerning reader.

Wanna know why there are multiple threads?  There is no way anyone can read through 22 pages of one topic front half hour old news.

Look at this thread, started 3 hours ago, already four pages long full of meaningless drivel.  Who wants to read that? Or even has the time to???

That's why there are those convenient page links at the top and bottom of each thread page...so you can read the beginning and jump to the current discussion.  It's like every message board.  Although I do miss the shoutbox!
