  1. HACK:

noun. 1. a person, as an artist or writer, who exploits, for money, his or her creative ability or training in the production of dull, unimaginative, and trite work; one who produces banal and mediocre work in the hope of gaining commercial success

    See: Jerry Sullivan

    lol...spot on

  2.

Fans always overrate the talent of their teams. The fact of the matter is that NFL teams are pretty much equal across the board year after year from a talent standpoint. The only differences (in order):

    1. Quarterback

    2. Injuries/luck

    3. A handful of difference-makers at the other positions (your Von Miller's, JJ Watt's, etc.)

    4. Coaching

So being "#2 behind Seattle with the talent on this roster" - even if that's true (doubtful) - doesn't mean a damn thing unless you excel in one (or more) of the four factors above.

  3. The Jets had the 10th ranked offense with Fitz, who some folks think is terrible. We went from 4th to 19th in defense & went from 54 sacks to 21. Rex did well against the Jets. Unfortunately, there are 14 other games. The Rams swept the Seahawks. How did that work out for both teams?

And how many more wins did that '14 defense and all those sacks get us?...same record..unless you count the phony Pats* win..I don't

  4. 2. Don't rule out a Tyrod Taylor extension in Buffalo just yet. Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports that the two sides have been talking "frequently" and Taylor still has a chance for an extension before the season. It's a tricky contract to figure out; the Bills would essentially be buying low.

He added that Smith would remain Fitzpatrick’s backup unless Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg put up “great” performances that forced a change in the order.

Often when surmising, I surmise incorrectly. Last night, I surmised that Ryan Fitzpatrick’s new one-year contract has a phony second or third year, in order to shrink the 2016 cap hit below $12 million.

    For change, I surmised correctly.

Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports that Fitzpatrick’s contract covers two years, but that the second year will evaporate. With a $10 million signing bonus and $2 million base salary, Fitzpatrick’s cap hit will be $7 million this year and $5 million next year.

This means that, if he’s not on the team in 2017, he’ll count for at least $5 million. If he is on the team, he’ll count for $5 million plus whatever his cap hit is on his next contract.

He also could count for up to another $3 million next year, if he hits the various triggers based on playing time and postseason success. The Jets need to win the Super Bowl before Fitzpatrick gets the full $3 million.

  7. Well, trolling is not necessarily negative. If you consider that the euphemism has its root in fishing (as opposed to the the troll under the bridge), you have essentially started a thread with only a thinly veiled invitation to dog-pile on your overtly optimistic opinion. Which is fine, of course. This is a discussion forum, after all.

But, am I the only one who finds it slightly comical that a member with fewer than 700 posts is claiming, "we don't need your negativity" to someone with over 17,000?

What has post count have to do with it ?....I'm confused...again
