  1. So blame the running game and bad play calling? You don't have to be a Tuel apologist, he's an UDFA that just isn't what many made him out to be after he had his way against 3-4 stringers.

Don't blame anything. He's a kid and it wasn't a great environment to play in today, but his play was still mediocre and so was Kolb's. People have really forgotten about the concept of developing talent. QBs and WRs can take time to develop. I see things I like with Tuel. Same with Geno Smith, who was a secoond rounder, but who looked terrible today. Doesn't mean that's all he is. It's one day.

  2. I think the Bills will keep 3 QBs on the roster and the 3rd will be Tuel. He will be inactive each week unless Kolb or Manuel get hurt. From what I have read (have not been to camp) he has digressed in recent practices and still needs some seasoning. The only way he gets into the week one game is if he's the only QB left standing.

That may be true. Remember, I posted this because I thought he was such a great value as a UDFA. Doesn't mean he needs to be the starter in year one. You hope for a Kirk Cousins scenario.

    Hope.

  3. The 2010 Draft has been cited frequently as one of the worst in recent memory, and as evidence of Buddy Nix's incompetence as a GM.

    1st -- Spiller

    2nd -- Troup

    3rd -- Carrington

    4th -- Easley

    6th -- Moats

Spiller is a budding superstar. Carrington is a starter poised for a breakout year. Moats is a 2nd string ILB and ST contributor. Easley appears to finally be healthy and could be the 5th or 6th WR. Troup is healthy but likely faces the longest odds to make the roster in the DL rotation.

It's hard to comment with respect to Troup and Easley because their careers have never really gotten started because of injury. Moats and Carrington were arguably miscast by the previous coaching staff, and Spiller was underutilized.

I dare say the possibility exists that by the end of the 2013 season, this draft will be looked back upon quite fondly by fans of the Buffalo Bills.

    Solid draft.

  4. on a side note .... speaking of coach speak.. what does this mean??? Bellyache "Tewbow is improving"?

hey keep it clean. this is a family website lol

    Heh.

I do agree on Woods though. In more family friendly terms, he is a very complete player. He's the kind of glue player we needed.

  5. Manuel almost made it into our underrated group, but he’s well known enough where we wanted to blow the whistle on guys like Jeff Tuel instead. This is an underrated QB class as I got into earlier today on the blog. Back to Manuel. He’s the one guy that has the athletic upside to be elite at the position and he’s as good on film as anybody else in the group. We think he is a good value anywhere after the first half of round one. E.J.’s got all the physical tools in abundance and he’s a winner. While we like Geno Smith some and the same goes for Matt Barkley, Ryan Nassib and Tyler Wilson--Manuel is the guy if we are taking a QB early.

I hadn't noticed this part the first time I read it. Just to get back to what we were talking about earlier in the thread, I think this guy sees Tuel as more than just a backup. I also find it bizarre that they are talking about both of our guys together in the same blurb predraft. Ironic, and hopefully prophetic.

I like the way they say that EJ is the guy worth going early on.

He's also a big fan of Woods. Calls him the "total package."

    Can't wait for Saturday.

  6. Meaningless.

i read last year, predraft, that Belichick brings in every qb every year.

To pick their brains and scout them, and make notes, in case he ever has to play against them.

    This, folks, is preparation.

That makes sense if they have played for an NFL team. They brought him in to scout him. You only get x number of rookie visits. Come on, man.

  7. he's worthless, he blows, etc etc are you some of the :censored: that were booing Kolb during the game?

Fact - Kolb started poorly and then picked it up..... (vs 2nd stringers?)

Fact - Tuel played 3rd, 4th and soon to be unemployed players.

You Chroisians need to chillax and look at things logically.

We should see how things go against the Skins before we truly start casting rocks at Kolb.

Kolb's just a guy, but that's what you get on the retread market. He serves a purpose and obviously should stay because QBs go down all the time.

  8. I was perusing this site after finding a good Jeff Tuel scouting report there and found this.

I like his take on our draft.

Think positive, folks. Read the article again. lol

It made me smile both times.

EJ didn't suffer a major injury and we had a great draft. The only really bad news is that his progress is being slowed, but it's a marathon, not a sprint. Of course, if it WAS a sprint ... we'd win!

This team can use the run to set things up until EJ is 100% and then we can move towards more balance.

Seriously. Stay positive. This is nothing but a small bump.
