As a human being he seems like a complete DBag...he literally hasn't talked to anyone in his family for over a decade over some pettiness apparently.

His family are very conservative Christians and try force their religious opinions on him instead of accepting that he has his own religious beliefs. They don't exactly act like good Christians when his brothers call him a coward or his dad says he doesn't exist to them. A few google searches and you can piece together the story. His family seems very bitter towards him. He's a lot better than that Chiefs child abuser that the announcers were praising on Sunday.

I do.  It's way more expensive buying fresh produce weekly than eating cheap, mass produced products.

It's not more expensive if you consider the negative side effects that will cost you down the road by eating like *****. My gf and I include a wide variety of fresh produce into our weekly diets and spend less than $30 which includes purchasing expensive frozen fruit for smoothies. Cheap, mass-produced high carbohydrates food doesn't fill you up and causes a biological response to continuing eating. My weekly meal preps cost about $1.50 per meal and include a lean protein, whole grain, along with a vegetable. Eating healthy isn't more expensive but it is more difficult b/c it requires planning, budgeting, and self-control.

For a family of 4 that equates to a $600.00 a month food bill.  I would dare say half the US population might find that difficult.  Average household incomes about 54k currently, or roughly 3k bring home a month.  considering the rampant consumerism in this country you have to factor in the $500 auto loan, $200 credit card payment, $1200 for housing, $150 for cell phones, $100 for cable, $350 for gas, $100 into a savings account, $400 for food maybe.  people have their budgets all jacked up.  or they just don't do one.

If someone is making $54k annually and has a $500/month auto loan they deserve all the financial hardships they encounter.

It is still a small sample size, but the kid looks legit.  I still think he was not worth a top 10 draft pick but so far he has performed better than I expected.

Well, I hope you don't have to evaluate applicants for jobs wherever you work. Still not worth a top 10 pick? If he were on the Bills he would be the leading rusher, receiver, and scorer by a large margin. For your Joey Bosa prediction, he was 20 years old when drafted and weighed 270 lbs at 6'5". He's probably grown another inch and now weighs 280 lbs. Good on you for owning up but damn man haha.

Exactly this mess is really about church boy mcdermett he initiated the exodus of young talent and acquiring older players , Tolbert anyone , mcdermott thought it was ok to pass on Watson& Mahomes who both played better competition and no draft capital was needed. We watched Watson for two years take apart  Alabama defense. The only thing both Warson & Mahomes didn't have was MY  skin tone.

I MIGHT OF HAD MY DIFFERENCES WITH WHALEY BUT HE CAN JUDGE FOOTBALL TALENT something mcdermet/beane dont seam to have a clue about

Speaking of flawed what have this QB did compare to the 2017 prospects that made you feel comfy enough to trade up for this. I'll put it to you this way if

JOSH  looked like Watson or Mahomes he would still be looking to get drafted. He is nothing more than a white Cordelle Jones except Cordelle won a national championship.

They don't have a clue about talent? The offense wasn't great before but they deserve some blame for its current state. They've also drafted/signed Dawkins, Edmonds, Milano, Phillips, White, Poyer and Hyde. Making a blanket statement about them not having a clue on how to identify talent is just false.

This. This board has been awful to read lately because everyone is POSITIVE that the Bills 1) Didnt want to start Josh this early 2) are doomed to go 0-16 3) are going to ruin Josh. All of this after 1 single game in which Josh barely played.

The Bills brass wouldnt have traded McCarron if they werent comfortable with Josh playing this early. The O-line did not look good in game one but one bad loss doesnt define a season. A couple years ago we started out 0-2 and looked terrible before rattling off 4 straight wins. I remember in 2011 we beat the Chiefs in week one 41-7. The Chiefs finished with a better record than us. It is ridiculous to make  sweeping generalizations about an entire season and condemn a front off after one (ONE!!!) game. There is evidence on both sides of the "Can you ruin a young QB by playing him too early" debate. IMO if comes down to mental fortitude. Josh has shown he has that so I for one am all in favor of this and very much looking forward to the rest of the season and next season.

To add to this. The Bengals defensive line made the Ravens (supposedly above average) o-line look horrible last night. I'm not saying our line is good but competent QB play will help them improve. It would help if we had quicker receivers that can get separation on shorter routes too.

  7. Quote

“For any young player you come into a new system and you learn how the coaches want things done,” said Daboll. “Then you as a coach, you drill it. You drill it pre-practice, during practice and there are different techniques for every position. He’s been grinding.”

This line from Daboll is what annoys me with NFL coaches and I hear repeated every off-season with a different QB prospect. I may be wrong but shouldn't a young QB learn the skills required to be a successful QB in the league instead of how coaches want it done for their system? I could be reading too much into these quotes but I believe a lot of coaches want a player to learn their system more than they want them to learn how to be the best pro they can be. Good coaches should look to improve their player's skill and adjust their system to the strengths of their players.

I totally understand the science...my example was a caption and not an expose. I condensed the example, so as NOT to bore the message.

For the record, analytics and other metrics has a place in determining situational football but the actual execution on the field matters more. BP basically said the same thing and I agree with him. Some of his other comments , not so much.

A coaches decision to go/ no go ultimately is based upon game day field execution and current game information and performance not some matrix that reveal some stat that summarizes the overall league trends. Its a classic case of which came first the chicken or the egg?

    6

But analytics can reveal a lot more than overall league trends. You are looking at this too narrowly. Say it's the second half of the season when there is plenty of situational data on a particular team, statistical analysis can reveal the team's strength/weakness/trends in a number ways. It's more than league trends. You can learn more about a team, an offense/defense, and all the way down to a particular player. It's about a coach using all his available resources to make a good decision.

The stats don't take into account the moment in time or if a perceived advantage in a game,  actually goes according to plan.

So to say that going for it on 4th & 2 against team X's Defense, works x% of the time and therefore increase the chances of being successful?

The statistics IMO, don't take into account that  these situations (short yardage) may have taken place in the current game on prior downs and the offense has not executed the plays or controlled the LOS as well against team X defense. Does these  in game facts play against the overall statistics league wide and drive the coaches decision making? I would think they should...

    5

Have you ever read an NFL statistics report? Statistical analysis isn't as simple as taking all 4th & 2 attempts and presenting the outcomes. Any statistician knows there are multiple variables and conditions that can affect a play. They don't have some guy using basic excel functions to get averages. You are seriously understating what an analytics department does.

  10. Sorry man I watched the whole game and there was no pressure on McCown. C'mon man. Only pressure I seen was K. Williams on 3 or 4 plays. I don't even think we registered a sack. We were good stopping the run but no QB pressure will kill against any above average QB.

No pressure on McCown? Our two interceptions were direct results of dline pressure forcing McCown to throw sloppy balls down the field.

  11. The point being since many of you missed it is that it's a bit disconcerning they are 0-4 and -35 million when it comes to the biggest decisions an owner can make. Since ya know them making the right decisions in respect to GMs and coaches is are only hope as fans. They aren't off to a rousing start.

So do you have access to the Bills/Sabres accounting and payroll information? They've made a lot more money with these organizations than they have lost with these firings.

  12. I know the guys that make these mock drafts are usually wrong, but I like to read the articles for entertainment value. They also give you a lot of insight on the players. That being said I am now seeing John Ross as the pick at 10 more often than not. Im against this pick myself. I've had enough of the little fast guy that in our case is usually injured.

John Ross 5'11 (Great speed and can catch)

Mike Williams 6'3 (not the fastest guy but can win jump balls)

Corey Davis 6'2 (Reminds me of a Moulds type of player)

Of course if Hooker or Adams were to fall I'd take them over these guys.

Mike Williams is actually 6'4" and Corey Davis is 6'3". I say go with Corey Davis.

  13. Captain Munnerlyn was same size as Robey and played well at nickel under McDermott. Don't get it. For 1.5 mil in savings.

Incorrect. Munnerlyn is 2 inches taller and at least 15 lbs heavier. Links to their draft profiles with official height and weight at the time.

  14. Bucky Gleason's article in the Buffalo News has me concerned. Keeping Whaley and elevating Lynn to head coach for next year seems like a recipe for disaster. If Rex is to be fired, then Whaley deserves to go as well. He has not assembled "superior" talent and he has made his share of poor moves. Please do not tell us that Jones is the answer at QB. It would be ridiculous for us to go into next season with Jones as our starting QB with Lynn as our head coach. Please run a real head coaching search. If Lynn is the best candidate, so be it, but please consider other candidates. Whaley's has not been able to get along with Rex or Marrone. There is a pattern here, and I do not care to get into a debate as to whether Whaley picked either head coach. We need a GM with better decision making abilities and the best available head coach. Please do not stick us with Whaley, Lynn and Jones for next season. It likely will be unwatchable and will delay the inevitable house cleaning.

While Whaley can be criticized for some of his moves he has also made some great ones. Neither Marrone or Rex were Whaley hires. I think if you give Whaley another shot he needs to be allowed to hire a coach instead of being forced to work with one. If the Pegula's are willing to do that then I think it's time to go another route at GM.

  15. If the Bills re-sign Gilmore and oust Tyrod, the following is what we are looking at next season in terms of salaries. I am going to list the 4 highest paid players, the guys who will eat up a HUGE portion of our cap space. Please do correct me if I forgot to mention someone who makes as much as those I am listing.

    1) Marcel Dareus - A DT with substance, psychological, and perhaps conditioning issues.

    2) Gilmore - A CB with tools who plays a very tentative game and isn't great in coverage.

    3) Jerry Hughes - A talented pass rusher who seems to lack discipline on the field. I for one think that a good coach would elevate his play.

    4) Shady McCoy - A talented RB with miles. He is a huge talent but he is aging and plays at a position which is fading in importance.

Now toss in a GM who habitually trades away draft picks and you have yourself a hot mess. Is there anyone who thinks we can win with this? I hope that people continue to buy tickets, but this is a tough sell.

Say what you will about Tim Graham but he nailed it with his recent article. The situation just isn't acceptable and the entire coaching staff and front office need to be swept away.

    1) Kills me watching him with Rex leading this team. Very talented but he's not the type of DT Rex needs.

    2) Can be lockdown at times and again I think he would be better without Rex. If we don't resign him and Rex is still HC, expect us to draft a corner early in the draft.

    3) I don't think he works in this system.

    4) Shady is easily a top 5 back in this league and he's not going anywhere.

I think Rex needs to go. Our defense continues to regress and it's time to for Pegulas to admit their mistake. Rex was a Pegula hire and needs to let Whaley do his job. Rex may be a "players coach" but he's not a coach that pays attention to detail. Right now, Rex is the problem but if Pegula does not realize that he needs to let his GM do his job we will have a bigger problem with this organization.

Check the link I have attached. Salary cap tool to analyze our current roster and what to anticipate for the upcoming seasons.

  16. OK hear me out.

Bye bye TT your just not good enough.

So where do the Bills turn for QB...

Ryan Fitzpatrick... the Jets will release him. He could be had for cheep if he still want to play. He liked the Bills and would probably like to finish his career here. I know this isn't a long term option but it could put us in the playoffs next year.

Also he will help us understand what we have in Watkins in a contract year. That's almost worth it alone. Also shady only has 1 or 2 great years left. Fits will throw picks but with our run game and a better defence with the draft and $$ we save from not keeping TT. We should have real good offence and defence. Also in this scenario I would go hard after Tryell pryor, Then a top saftey in free agency. Sign or Franchise Gilmore,Draft O-line and BPA in the draft and we would have a real strong roster. We should get extra money when Aron Williams retires(5.5mill). And if we need more we could cut E wood.I like wood but if we need extra cash Groy has shown he is serviceable.

A offence of Fits, Shady, Clay, Watkins, and Pryor..is ridiculous. We would still have a top running team and real weapons at WR with a guy that can get them the ball.

The D only needs a safety or 2 and the unit will be way stronger. O and a offence that can get first downs would help the D more than anything.

You have to be joking right?? Have you watched Fitz play at all this year? He's garbage, end of story. There's a reason why no one signed him this offseason and the Jets waited until the end of camp to bring him back. Not including decker, He has 3 big-body WR's to throw to and still has 14 interceptions this year. I'm not sure what to do with our QB situation but Fitz will only make it worse.

No way Pryor hits the open market. Before resigning any of their free agents this off-season the Browns will have ~$114 million in cap space and the only free agents they have worth resigning are Pryor/Collins.

Here's what I would do to improve this team. Figure out a way to get out of the horrible Clay contract. He's overvalued and not even utilized in our offense. I would then target M. Bennet, V. Davis, or V. McDonald. Bennet would be cheaper than clay and the other two significantly cheaper. I would also go after Kenny Britt if he makes it to the market. He's finally come around as an adult and as a player. He would be affordable and give us an upgrade as a big body WR.

Either sign a safety or draft one if a top prospect is available at our pick. A great safety will allow our corners to play the tight press coverage Rex needs while knowing they have help behind them. Cutting Wood would create a good amount of dead cap btw.

  17. So all these reports of Sammy Watkins hoping to remove his walking boot Thursday but does anyone pu attention to his social media accounts? One look at his Instagram posts and you can clearly see he's not wearing it already. Additionally, my friends saw him at sunset beach and sent me a snapchat of walking around in bare feet. So is one bills drive feeding us lies again or is Sammy really that much of an idiot?
