This just in, if you score 25 points 3 games in a row, and you end up 0-3, the problem most likely isn't your offense, and especially not your QB.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Rex's defensive backs revolve around communication and you can hardly understand a word that comes out of Leo's mouth.

Please stop blaming carpenter. Tyrod lost a fumble and McCoy lost a fumble that would have resulted in points.

To be fair, I would rather that set of downs than Tyrod trying to make something happen, getting himself hurt, forcing a turnover. We are winning, their offense can't get anything going, take the points and get off the field. I would have liked to see another 6 on the board with the rest of you, but don't make mistakes, 3 turnovers vs 0 turnovers, if he forces something there and turns the ball over, the momentum starts to go in the other direction.

I voted for the latter. If somehow we don't get into the playoffs with EJ ready to lead the team for the next 5-10 years, there's no way they're going to keep us out for much longer. With still no option at QB and us getting in, #1 we don't go very far and #2 we begin to lose good players to contracts next season.

I think I would still like to see us go for Mark Sanchez. I think this ensures we don't make any rash decisions or end up getting into a bidding war with another team and over-pay. If no Sanchez, we are still happy and can get a quality OT/OG and a TE in FA.

I think the most important thing a 9 or 10 win season does for this football team is makes Buffalo more enticing to bring in quality free agents. Not going to the playoffs for the past 15 seasons (if we miss out this year) has really hampered Buffalo's ability to bring in quality free agents (remember the whole week we were biting out fingers over Mario Williams?). If a couple great offensive lineman or possibly a QB, TE, etc. are in FA next year, would they want to be a part of the Buffalo Bills? Could they be the missing puzzle pieces to a potentially playoff bound team with a stout defense / ST only missing links being on offense?
ESPECIALLY because we don't have a first round pick next year -
If this thing turns around I think Marrone deserves at least that much credit. He has made Buffalo relevant again (along with Jim Schwartz but Marrone has known he lacks defensive knowledge and went out and brought in two people with credentials [see Pettine, Schwartz]). I still feel Hackett needs to be shown the door though. Okay, this has went from a thread about making Buffalo relevant to possible FA to complaining about our offense.
Sorry I thought this deserved it's own thread, I wanted to hear what you guys thought as well.

I don't think it has been said on here 10,000 times so I"m going to make it 10,000. If we don't pay Hughes a lot of money, somebody else will pay Hughes a lot of money.

A bit off topic and too late for anyone to know / care but I go to the University of Cincinnati and watched Travis Kelce play every game. I was completely hoping we would have filled our tight end void with him. I knew coming out of college he was going to be something special.
That being said, I would try to mix up coverages on them. You can't have somebody short on them such as Nickell Robey or Duke. Ideally you could have Kiko out there which we know isn't a possibility. Aaron Williams would probably be your best bet since he came out as a true coverage corner and is now a safety. So you either play a lot of nickel and dime packages and have Graham or Williams on him or in your base defense try to put a linebacker on him that can cover. Which we don't have at the moment as far as I'm concerned.
We all know Spikes' situation. Bradham is normally the Sam and not very well known for his coverage skills and Preston can cover backs but I don't really think he is up for the task of a tall, athletic tight end such as Gronk or Kelce. We all saw what happens when we put McKelvin on Gronk and we all know what happens when we play zone and don't pressure the quarterback. The tall tight ends will find the empty spaces and good quarterbacks like Brady will find them every time.
So that would be my strategy in a nutshell. My nickel corner or 4th corner in dime would man cover him, and depending on how many receivers they have in the formation I might have my free safety shadow them over the top as well. We had Brady throw a few picks in the past doing that. I remember a George Wilson pick of Brady throwing to Gronk in the endzone by shadowing the TE having man coverage. As far as KC specifically, none of their wide receivers scare me. We need to cover up Kelce more than anything. and Jamal Charles coming out of the backfield is a matchup nightmare too by the way.

Our two scoring drives have been on big passing plays. Yet 80% of our play calls are runs. The announcers have said Buffalo can take adv of Jets secondary but we're not. This is unacceptable. Hackett needs to be fired Monday.

This all being said - what kind of mind lapse do you need to go through to give somebody 30 yards on a 3rd and 18? The guy caught the ball for a gain of what? 19? and Gilmore was 10 yards away. On 3rd and 18....

I probably did see at least 3 instances where Brady was under pressure and just lofted the ball 30-40 yards down-field, 10-15 yards out of bounds. I thought this could have been intentional grounding. Is it excused when you are throwing the ball 40 yards down-field instead of 10? But I suppose you could consider some of EJs deep balls intentional grounding even though he's legitimately trying to get it to a receiver.

The PI looked a lot like what happened to Woods the last play of the Texans game. Texans DB was over the top is the only difference but good coverage, constant contact, one was called and one wasn't. I thought the NFL was looking at being more consistent?

Is anyone else as frustrated as I am with 10 yards between the punt returner and the closest person to him and a fair catch? Is that special teams coaching? This is absolutely unacceptable. That's 5-10 more hidden yardage during a game each time.

I don't think this will catch anybody off-guard, but if EJ played like this through 4 games, not only would he still be our starting quarterback, we also have a 90% + chance we are 4-0.

I am so very sorry if you feel this should be included in all the other threads but I really felt it would be lost and I thought it would be worth mentioning and I would truly and sincerely like as much input on this as possible.
First and foremost, I am from Ohio and have been a Bills fan my entire life, and the thing about the Bills is you just don't stop being a fan. So chances are I'll be a Bills fan for life although it is quite difficult at times. That being said, I'll admit I was one that was watching Teddy Bridgewater on Sunday and posted a comment on one of the threads and kept asking myself "How do we continue to get this wrong time and time again, yet a team like the Vikings takes a QB with the last pick in the 1st round and darn near strike gold".
Which brings me to the main point of making this thread. Please watch this video and the ONLY play, I really want to emphasize because the rest of the video I could really care less, the ONLY play I want you to watch then you can close the video starts at 0:26.

If you would like to chime in, the question I would like answered is: Has EJ ever in his entire NFL career made this throw because Bridgewater initially has a clean pocket but after about 2 seconds he has a defender coming at him from the blind side and another defender with a full head of steam coming at him. Yet delivers a ball, on time and on target, to a receiver running full speed across the field. The ball is not behind him, above him, too low. It is precisely where it needs to be where it needs to be 30 yards from the quarterback.
So bottom line, can you pin point a time EJ has made this throw, if so, good on you, if not, do you believe seeing what you have inevitably saw over the past 14 games, has he shown any improvement whatsoever on being able to make that throw?

I'm pretty sure I would trade our entire football team and coaching staff for Teddy Bridgewater. He's looking like the real deal. Isn't afraid in the pocket, hitting wide open receivers in stride. Actually just ran a 10 yd TD. Ridiculous. I would rather have Bridgewater throwing to Stevie and Mike Williams and Woody than EJ throwing to Sammy. Another 4 years down the drain.
