I think they put it well on WGR this morning when talking about ian rappaport's comment that Tyrod is top 15 QB. If you are an analyst or reporter who only see the highlights and the stat line, it's easy to like Tyrod. He makes some impressive plays. If you are a fan who has watched every down over the past two years, it's very hard to take the "top 15" comment seriously.

Because of the run game. Shady is a beast and no one will deny Tyrod's running ability. The offensive line did very well with run blocking as well. The offense succeeded in spite of Tyrod's very average play, not because of it.See above. The Bills had their most solidly consistent point production season arguably in franchise history (or at least back to 1988). The offense was not the problem.

You know, my uncle and I have watched just about every bills game together since the 90s, suffering through middling quarterback after middling quarterback. We both were very high on Taylor after the 2015 season. This year, we, as with everyone else, expected him to progress.
More times than I can remember, especially in the second half of the season, the bills would get the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to either get back in the game or take the lead. Some games, they got 2-3 such chances late. Every time this scenario presented itself, we would say "here's Tyrod's shot to earn his contract option." So many times, so many opportunities he had to win the game or at least keep them in the game with a late scoring drive. Almost everytime, the offense would stall, and his poor passes or poor decision making were the primary reason.
I still like Tyrod, and think he's the best QB we've had in 15 years. Still, though, as the season went on I knew he wasn't the long term answer. Barring a drastic improvement, both in terms of his physical and mental abilities as well as coaching, he will never be anything but a game manager.

Ok, I'll take your word on that I guess. The fact remains that nearly everyone (except you), both fans and those paid to analyze the draft, would have seen taking Watson at ten to be a terrible reach prior to Monday. Now, everyone is in love, after one game, when the larger body of work this year shows far less promise.

And what makes you more qualified than the "hacks" like Walter and others who work full time analyzing and scouting college players regarding the draft, as well as using sources to gauge team's interests in certain players and positions?

Did you read my post? I hadn't seen a single mock draft prior to Monday that had Watson going in the first round - now he's top five in many of them. I saw very little talk of him here or in the media as a viable option for the bills prior to Monday, now everyone seems to think they will have to trade up to get him. It's nonsense. Sure, a QB starved team may give him a chance, but Kizer and Trubisky remain much safer for teams picking early in the first round.

Sure. You don't draft a player well above their talent level because you fell in love with their performance in a bowl game. Watson's knocks remain - he is undersized, he is playing in a simple read offense, and he has struggled with accuracy all year. Prior to the championship game, Practically every mock had Trubisky and Kizer going in the top 5 and Watson nowhere near the first round. Now I'm looking at new mocks coming out with Watson as the first QB taken and the other two are falling well within reach of the Bills. Raise the red flags. If Kizer is there at ten, they need to pull the trigger. If Watson is there, and he should be, far too much risk would be involved, imo.

Walter football still has him at a 3rd round grade. Taking him at 10 would be a worse reach than taking EJ in the first round

If not, your inability to admit your mistake has peaked my interest. I mean, for all intensive purposes, you seem to have some sort of deep-seeded issue with delusion. Case and point, you've created historical fable in your mind and tried to fool people with it who could care less if you made an honest mistake. I don't want to call you crazy, but I think that and you are one in the same.

No salary cap on coaches. Pegula is a billionaire. Money talks. Both Mcdaniels and Patricia are looking for a promotion, and they won't find it in Foxboro. They have both proven themselves and gain nothing staying there. They're coaches, not players. They can go where they want, when they want, "yoda" has little to no say in the matter.

Don't disagree. I see a bright future for him though, and considering his QB, his WRs, and his thrusted in role this year, he's done pretty well. The difference in the offense from pre and post Lynn was very clear. Some things he did were working. I think it's tough to evaluate going forward in 2016 because the players clearly are saving their bodies over risking their careers and lives playing for a going nowhere team and head coach.Or Hire your HC whoever it is and let him build his staff.

It's time to get real. Terry and Kim need to pry away one of NE's coordinators at whatever cost is necessary. Anthony Lynn is considered to be a rising star by many and should not be let go.
According to Tom Pelissero at USAToday, these three are ranked #1 (Mcdaniels), #4 (Lynn), and #5 (Patricia) amongst head coaching candidates for 2017. Who are 2 and 3? Kyle Shanahan and Jim Schwartz. Kyle is the most risky of this group, imo. As for Schwartz, I like him as a coordinator, but not as a head coach.
Hire one of them, give them what they want when it come to money and control, and keep Lynn in whatever role possible, perhaps asst head coach (not OC).

His cap hit next year will be around 15 million, and only up to 16 / 17 going forward. It's an intelligently designed contract. They can even cut him next year or the year after - they'll still have to pay his base salary for 2017 / 2018, but he has very little dead cap money. Dareus, for example, has a dead cap number around 30 million, making him literally impossible to cut. Tyrod's number is around 2 million.
It's a resonable contract for a starter regardless. According to sportrac, his 18 million per year average is ranked #18th amongst QBs. He's behind the likes of Cutler, Tannehill, Kaepernick, and Cousins. His contract will not hamper their cap situation that much. They can draft or sign a QB in the next couple years to take over if Tyrod continues to stagnate. The bills will have about 25 million in cap space next year including his contract.
And let's be realistic here - he is in a tough spot right now. He has easily the worst WR group in the league to throw to. He's playing behind a line that's having a lot of issues with pass protection.

I think they should wait until after the NE game and if they are 5-3 or 6-2 they should make deal. See who they can pry away for a 4th round pick. They don't need a superstar, just a decent #2 or slot type.

I think if they win the next two, they should definitely go out and see who they can get for a 3rd - 4th round pick at the deadline. We want to see Tyrod develop and thrive but he has probably the worst stable of WRs in the league to throw to. And I wouldn't count on seeing Sammy back this year.
Who do they have?
Woods a - player with promise but one who has shown little to this point and hasn't taken advantage of the golden opportunity Sammy's injury gave him.
Goodwin - a late round pick who is only in the NFL because he Has freakish speed. He is a good player for specific plays that utilize that speed - he is not an every down WR2
And - a bunch of cast offs who have a job because the Bills WR situation is a nightmare.
If they're 5-2 heading into the Pats game, they need to make a trade. best WR available for a 3rd or 4th rd pick.
If not - if they implode again over the next few weeks - let it go.
A team with a real chance of the playoffs for the first time in 16 years needs to go for it. A team looking at another season of mediocrity needs to keep all of their draft picks.

This doesn't make a lot of sense. Why would he bring his brother here if he knew it would be his last year?
Either he knew the bills would be awful and he would be fired - so he brings Rob, who's coaching career is seriously in jeopardy already, to go down in flames with him?
Or he plans on leaving regardless of the result because he doesn't like the power structure: again, how is that good for your brother?
Or there just isn't a lot of thinking going on...

Wasted draft picks. Year after year this team moves up in the draft and it burns them every time. Moving up leaves zero margin for error. They don't have the bodies to overcome injury and have no depth or athleticism at key positions. All three of the TE's can't block. How the hell is that possible? None of them have deep speed. None of them have superior size. The LBs are below average at best. They have two kickers on 53 man roster and not a decent back-up guard or center.
Lots of bad picks and a few good ones. I'm willing to let this years draft slide until the top two are healthy. And who knows, if Tyrod blows it this year Cardale could be the next QB. Anyone who faults that pick is insane.

We are all within our rights to question how the Pegulas run this team. It needs to improve. However, I don't see how anyone could have wanted anyone else to buy the team. At least we have the Buffalo Bills, let's just hope they learn how to run it. Trust me, no one else regardless of what they said would have kept the team in Buffalo. In reality it's a poor business decision.
Here here. Dear Terry and Kim, you know next to nothing about football. I still love you because we still have a team. But Spend .001% of your money and hire a czar who does know how it works. Sit in the box and enjoy the success and let them make the decisions.

He's injury prone and puts up less production than Stevie Johnson. He has done nothing special thus far.
Steve Johnson was a 7th round pick, Watkins cost two firsts and a 4.
I'm not going to post his highlight reel film of ridiculous catches last season because that's not the point of this thread. He's been injured some, yes. He's still a legitimate NFL WR as I said in the OP. The point is there is no one legitimate next to him. How is he going to develop and produce when he has 2-3 DBs shadowing him every play?
