  1. LOL i love it! i never thought i could hate a team more than the Pats but i just LOVED watching the Jets getting beat down. Rex has such a big mouth. It might not mean anything when we play them the last game of the season but I would just love a blowout Bills win and Rex getting fired afterwards

  2. I was thinking about this thread last night during the game. After the first half I was going to post about how it seemed to prove that a good defense was the answer and it can make up for an inconsistent offense with a sub par QB. And then the 2nd half happened and I thought for sure we were going to lose that game. After not being able to convert in the red zone in the first half, the offense completely stalled in the 2nd half. All we needed was 1 offensive TD to make it an easy win and they couldn't even do that. Every time we take a shot in the end zone it seems like Fitz is daring them to pick him off and then we settle for a field goal. The play calling was terrible too. How do we not have a couple of go to plays to get that extra 1-2 yards when we need it? And was CJ really that tired that every time we drove down the field he had to come out and they had to put Choice in? Last night was a rollercoaster of emotions. At one point I felt like "OMG YES we finally have a total team effort. Offense, Defense, Special Teams all playing amazing! There's no stopping us now. Playoffs baby!" And then once again the offense just couldn't get it done for us when we needed them to and I was back to my mopey self. It was a good win and gave some confidence to our defense that they can get the job done for us but let's face it, we got lucky last night

  3. Although - in typical Bills fashion - I could see us winning the next 6 games. Then with the playoffs on the line, losing 45-0 to a Tim Tebow led Jets squad.

That's what I feared when I first saw the schedule. I figured the Bills would be playing the Jets the last game of the season and a win would mean a playoff spot and we would get destroyed. Typical Bills. Reminds me of that one year when we needed a win the last game of the year against the Steelers and they had already clinched and Cowher played his 2nd and 3rd string guys and we still lost!

  4. to be honest, as bad as they've been...they are 2 plays away from being 5-4. they should have never lost against the titans and a different route by a rookie receiver and they beat the pats. i know...woulda, shoulda, coulda doesn't count. but fitz actually played well last game and if he can keep that up and we continue using cj and fred (when he gets healthy) like we did then there's no reason we couldn't win out as far fetched as that seems. at the start of the year when everyone thought the bills were going to be the surprise team of the year, even then most of us would agree they would probably only have 1 more win than they do now at this point in the season. even though the colts and rams and seahawks are better than anticipated, i think we can still beat them. nothing about those teams makes me think it's a sure thing loss. and now Miami is looking bad again. i guess we'll see tomorrow!

  5. I think they used both rb's really well yesterday. Instead of just using Fred or just CJ for a drive they were sub'ing in and out a lot. Get a fresh pair of legs in there! No use having CJ catch a screen pass for 30 yards and then try and run with him on the very next play when he is winded. Get Fred back in there. We have the best 1-2 punch in the whole league. It's really the only thing we have going for us so we have to keep thinking of ways to keep both guys involved and I think they can use yesterday's game as a model going forward. Less Fitz and more Fred and CJ imo

  6. I just expect all of the calls to go against us. Do you think the NFL wants a small market team like us to be successful? You just have to expect that anything close is going to go against us as usual. Those interference calls were terrible and I would love to see the league try and stand behind the refs on those ones. But it's all for naught if Fitz doesn't try to force it into the endzone on 2 consecutive plays when we have plenty of time to hit someone underneath on a crossing pattern. For a smart guy he's really dumb sometimes

  7. I thought that Stephon did a good job staying in his back pocket and keeping his receptions to a minimum.

Yea he was able to stay near him because he was playing 5 yards off of him at all times. True, he never got beat long. But I recall a 3rd and 2 where Gilmore was like 10 yards down the field off the line of scrimmage, no joke! Johnson took like 2 steps and turned around and got a first down and I think that's when I threw something and scared the dog lol

  8. And don't forget that Darius was a winner at this point prior to his draft, and Stephon was a winner this time last year, and....

those guys were never THE guy. they were just good players on really good teams

I don't disagree at all with you that we need someone with his leadership, fire and excitement. I just think we need a quarterback MORE. We've neglected the position for far too long, and I do believe there are several good QB's, potential franchise changing QB's coming out of the draft.

I agree that we DESPERATELY need a QB. This is a QB driven league. I just don't think anyone available at number 12 or whenever we pick will be that guy that we so desperately need

  9. Our year is already in the crapper. Might as well still have Williams in there learning assuming he is able to play. Then next year if he still sucks then they can't say it's because he's a young player without a lot of experience, it will be because he just can't cover anybody and was a complete bust of a pick (which I believe is the case)

  10. I know we have a lot of needs (QB, CB, etc) but I don't think there will be anyone worthwhile available at those positions and I think we need to take a good hard look at Manti Te'o with our first pick. The guy is a winner. I think he's going to be the next Ray Lewis. He's not just a good ILB but he knows what it takes to make the guys around him better. We don't have anybody with that kind of passion on our defense. Barnett was good last year in the 4-3 but this year I haven't heard his name called too often and he's getting old. Let's get a young exciting player in there that will take on the ball carrier in the hole and lay him out. And he has the intangibles to make him much more valuable to a defense like ours that seems lost and looking for some direction. We need his leadership and his fire and his excitement. I think he could be the spark we are looking for

  11. why would they do that? who exactly could they get with the #3 pick vs maybe the #10 pick? this isn't like last year or the year before with like 2-3 sure thing qb prospects coming out. nobody in this draft is any good. if there was an andrew luck in this draft then I wouldn't feel too bad if they decided to put TJ in there at qb for the rest of the year and let the whole team go down the crapper. but even if there was a bunch of good prospects the bills would still end up picking the wrong guy. remember 2004?...Manning, Rothlesberger, Rivers, and....Losman? wtf???

  12. I bet we can get Vick on the cheap. Get him AND draft a QB. I don't think you do either or. Look at Aaron Rogers. QB's need a year or two to learn and get acclimated. We need to get out of the habit of drafting the 5th or 6th QB on the board and throwing them right out there and then wondering why they don't turn out to be any good after 2-3 yrs of bad football. Unless we get a sure pick like Andrew Luck was then I would favor getting a good veteran to come in, and Vick is going to be the best one available

  13. Ya he should do what most people do and care more about complete strangers than his own flesh and blood. I'm sure that's what you would do

Yea actually I care about the legacy I leave behind and I try and do the right things in life. Do you want to be hated by hundreds of thousands of people when you die? I certainly wouldn't want that hanging over my head (or my tombstone as it were).

If I made a $20,000 investment and it ended up being worth $900 million, I wouldn't mind cashing it in at a bargain price of $800 million if it meant doing the right thing and being adored by fans. His kid's kid's kid's kid's will never have to work a day in their lives with that kind of loot

  14. +1 for new owner. Are there any secret Bills fan billionaires out there? Pegula seemed to come out of nowhere, maybe we could get lucky like that. Ralph is a bonehead to hold onto the team until he dies and give the fans all of this uncertainty. What will his legacy be if he kicks the bucket and the next day the Bills leave Buffalo? He should care more about that than adding a couple million more to his heirs pockets

  15. Powell is terrible. why did they HAVE to have this guy? because he's younger than Moorman? yet another bonehead move. but it's not getting as much attention as it would have if the rest of the team wasn't so bad as well. if we had actually come away with a victory i think everyone would be talking more about that 20 yard shank job Powell had to set them up close to scoring position. he hasn't done anything yet that has made me say "ok he is an upgrade over Moorman." only lots of bad punts that leave me shaking my head

  16. mckelvin is a terrible DB. he's not the answer. it's been shown that he is a better return man when he's not on the field playing D. he is an above avg returner and below avg dback so let's just let him return. our DB's are just terrible overall. aaron williams should not even be in the league and he's the 2nd best cover guy we have?! what a bust of a pick he was. i think gilmore will eventually get there where he is a good #2 guy, he's still very young, but he is definitely not a shut down corner. i hate the jets but whenever i watch cromartie or a healthy revis, i get jealous. florence wasn't amazing or anything but i wish we still had him. i think if we can get a shut down corner in the offseason then we will be looking good. we already have great safeties but they can't cover the whole field by themselves. a. williams just gets beat way too often. they toy with him. it's embarassing. and when they bring in these no-name guys in the nickel then it's just doubly embarassing

  17. what qb's are even worth looking at? there really aren't any that stand out to me. the ones that are successful in college run the spread option. not that many pro style qb's out there this yr.

michael vick will probably be available this offseason. he made a stop here before signing with the eagles. i don't think he's the answer either but he's going to be better than anyone that comes out in this year's draft. i think the core players are there for us, we just need an experienced qb and some better corners and linebackers. that's why i think picking up a qb in free agency is a better idea than starting from scratch with a rookie qb. i'm not ready to go into ANOTHER rebuilding phase just yet
