My point is this: A guy like Fred Jackson was not even scouted out of high school. If it wasn't for his perseverance and positive attitude he would have just said "oh I guess I'm not good enough to play college ball let alone go pro" and then he wouldn't have become who he is today. How many guys are these scouts missing out on? I know a lot of guys that were really good growing up that just gave up as teenagers because they didn't get any "hype" so they didn't think they had what it took to go to the next level. I think everyone puts way too much value in what these scouts/coaches/etc rank you.
I was a good baseball player but I wasn't "scouted" outside of my hometown so I never did anything with it. So because of that experience I knew that for my brother to get any attention he needed to play in front of as many people as possible, not just locally. So he played in multiple travel leagues all over the US and ended up getting a full D1 scholarship. So I take it kind of personal because I'm just as good if not better than him but I didn't catch the right scouts attention apparently. My brother didn't go pro but a lot of his friends did (and he went to school for free) so the difference from just being a good local player to being a professional athlete isn't as big of a gap as you might expect. It takes skill obviously but you also have to catch the right people's attention and not all of these guys know what they are looking for. It's a crapshoot. There are probably more 5-star recruits working in retail and fast food than there are in the NFL. And on the opposite end, there are plenty of examples of people that were walk-ons or undrafted that are stars now.
So it's not an exact science. These guys are wrong more than they are right. Even when it comes to the NFL draft, look how many late round draft picks the Seahawks and Pats had. There is arguably more talent in the later rounds (Brady 6th round, Wilson 3rd round, Richard Sherman 5th round).
So the moral of the story is I don't put a lot of value in what these scouts say.

Jeter is rich but not THAT rich. maybe he would have gone in with Trump but Trump wanted all of the glory (publicity)

so basically scouts have no idea what they are talking about

i predicted 8-8 +-1 last year so 16-20 is about right (middle of the pack). for this season i predict 9-7 so we will probably be 8-8 or 10-6 depending on what happens. i think we will be in the wildcard mix again. but isn't the ultimate goal to win the Super Bowl? i feel like the FO's goal is to just make the playoffs which is pretty sad. does it really matter if we sneak in as a wild card and if we are lucky we lose in the divisional round? this is a team that is built to just squeak by and that makes me sad. we will probably be in the bottom half of the power rankings again and we will continue to be until we get a QB. simple as that

can we get that Matthews guy from Seattle? jeez what a game that guy had

And yet everything that's happened the last few years happened while Byron Brown is mayor.
I used to think Brown was holding the city back but obviously stuff is getting done. It helps having a billionaire move into town, itching to rebuild part of your city. But someone still has to smooth the path and cut the red tape, so I give him credit for that, and Brian Higgins.
I'll give credit to Higgins and some of the other local guys like Poloncarz. But Brown is a waste of space. We need someone new here if we want any real change but he wins I think based more on demographic than on merit

If i were the guy in charge, i would bulldoze the perry st. projects and re-route the street grid in that area.
i feel like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the city of Buffalo to fix everything that they have messed up in the last 50 yrs. get rid of the projects, move the skyway, knock down the old abandoned factories, and free up some lake side property. too bad we have such crappy leaders in this town that can't seem to ever get anything done. we will never be a real city with Byron Brown in charge

^^That was 25 years ago. Its a different game now. Need a star QB or you are nobody

Pete Carroll said they passed because they wanted to have 3 plays instead of 2 so if it was incomplete then the clock would stop. That doesn't make sense. There was 29 seconds left. They couldn't run the ball 3 times in 29 seconds? I'm handing it off to Marshawn then rushing back to the line and running a QB sneak if that doesn't work. Then call a timeout for the last play if you must. There's nothing PC can say that would make sense imo

2nd down and 1 yard to go to win the Super Bowl. You choose the play:
1) get under center and hand the ball off to your "beast" of a RB
2) shotgun pass where the receiver runs a slant right into the middle of the coverage
I'm handing it to the RB 3x in a row and if they stop us from the 1 yard line 3 plays in a row then they deserve to win

Is Jameis the next Johnny Manziel? That might be what teams are thinking. Maybe that will cause him to plummet in the draft and we can get him by trading back into the end of the 1st round

i'd watch this if they make it...

Never heard of him. He's probably some no talent ash clown who can't afford an NFL team but your guess is as good as mine

I think Manning is done. He might play 1 more year and see how bad the team is and retirePerfect scenario #1: Bills end the dynasty and win the Super Bowl
Perfect scenario #2: Broncos go back to back SB wins and Manning retires with 3 rings and every passing record in the books.

The Only reason Seattle did not beat them is because they gave the game away. Did you even watch the game??
Oh so there is going to be an asterisk next to the Patriots 2014 NFL champions? A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Welcome to the NFL

The next dynasty is the New England Patriots. Tom Brady says he's planning on playing until he's 45.

Did anyone else notice the ball on the top of the Lombardi trophy looking kind of flat? Check the psi

If Seattle can't beat them then how will we?

Seahawks forum calling for Bevell to be fired! Lol. PC said it's on himself but I'm sure it was Bevell's call. What a disaster
-
Is Tom going to announce his retirement and go out on top? That's our only hope
-
Problem 1, they were in shotgun on the 1 yard line. Something Hackett might have called for us but Seattle can't be that dumb.
Then I thought they must be running the option play and they will just hand it off. No messing around its 1 yard.
Omg they are throwing?
Omg did they just pick that off? Lol
You have Marshawn Lynch. Get under center and hand him the ball and you win the super bowl. Wow.
OK they have the ball on the goal line there's still hope if you can bust through and get a safety.
Omg they just jumped offsides?
Total choke job by Seattle. I'd be devastated if that was my team. What a disaster. What a way to lose

I think the OP was trying to be funny with the title. You guys are sensitive today
Space Jamslooks like he is in space.

Jets have the money and he wants to be in NYC. I don't think we have much of a chance but if we had him we would have the best D in the league officially
