  1. You argued draft position then you changed the criteria when that approach was reduced to absurdity.

I didn't say anything about Matt Moore's draft position. Reading is fundamental. I only mentioned Alex Smith's as another example of how talented he is. Not all #1's are. He is. He went #1 because he had raw talent and even though he didnt run a pro style offense in college the potential was always there given the right development. You are quick to go on the attack. Perhaps next time show a little more respect to fellow posters instead of trying to grandstand
  2. Gabbert was a top 10 pick; Warner went undrafted and was out of the league bagging groceries having reached his potential. Gabbert has so much yet to be tapped into.

Kurt Warner wasn't a backup for 7 yrs bouncing from team to team and playing mediocre football along the way. He was a star in the arena league and a star in the NFL. Bad comparison

  3. Blaine Gannett > Kurt Warner

So Kurt Warner was a backup for 7+ years that didn't show much of anything and then all of a sudden became a star? Nope he was a star the whole time he was just overlooked. Bad comparison. Matt Moore has never been a star and never will be. He's lucky to be in the league

  4. You should have seen that catch against the Vikings.

Name another big catch thogh. The guy was invisible most games. Didn't even notice if he was on the field

i have nothing against Hogan and think he's a good asset. But IMO they are two different players. I don't see why his ability to get on the field makes MW inactive. I understand ST but, MW did play ST when active.

Oh I totally agree. MW was a big physical guy that could go up to get the ball. Would have been great to have him in the red zone. Why they didn't give him a shot boggles my mind. For whatever reason they wanted Hogan out there instead and he's not the same kind of physical receiver, he's more of a posession guy

  5. there is no comparison. Alex Smith was a highly recruited former #1 pick with a ton of talent. Matt Moore is not as talented but has been a competent backup. Matt Moore has already reached his potential, there is not untapped potential in there like with Alex Smith. maybe you can use that comparison on someone like Sanchez who was a former top 5 pick

  6. Wondering how many people who said "no thank you" in this thread have watched him consistently. He's a dominating physical runner. Look at what he did to MSU his Junior season, if you recall, that was the year MSU won the Rose Bowl and that defense was as good as any in the country. The guy has a 24/7 chip on his shoulder for people who have used his size to minimize him. No pun intended. Yes I would take him in two seconds.

he has fumbled 20 times. that's reason enough. he's playing against smaller college guys, what's he going to do vs NFL guys?

  7. One interesting thing I read, which I can't seem to track down now, was a scout's comments on him. The scout said he gave him the highest character score of any player he has ever evaluated. Said the kid is the ultimate hard worker, great locker room guy. You gotta like that personality.

CJ is a good guy too. But that doesn't help him run up the middle between the tackles

  8. Sadly most of the WGR staff is pretty low quality, with a handful of exceptions. Most of the young guys are probably Buff State interns.

Many big city sports talk stations have several ex-jocks as hosts. Guys who can talk knowledgably about the game. WGR's sister station in Boston WEEI does that.

I guess Andrew Peters qualifies as the ex-jock host for hockey. They could use one or two guys for football.

This please! There has to be an ex player they can hire. We need someone that knows what they are talking about on that station
  9. Vick is a shadow of the QB he was ten years ago and last year proved it. McCown is a much better option for the kind of offense Roman will put in place.

But hey let's whine that Bills are showing initiative to address a weak spot on the roster

so Vick at 34 is not as good as McCown at 35? we know for a fact he has been much much much much better for the past dozen seasons yet you seem to prefer McCown. i wonder if Vick can tap into this secret of youth that McCown has apparently been using
