  1. I looked up Peyton Manning's stats from his first 3 games for another thread...

Peyton Manning was 0-3 to start his rookie season and in those games only completed 54% of his passes for 683 yards 2 td's and 8 int's.

The moral of the story is you can't base your opinion on someone after 3 games their rookie year. Or if you can then our QB is going to be better than Peyton Manning some day so yay!!

  2. Peyton Manning was 0-3 to start his rookie season and in those games only completed 54% of his passes for 683 yards 2 td's and 8 int's.

EJ has completed 59% of his passes for 689 and 4 td's and 1 int and has had 1 miraculous come from behind victory already.

Yea EJ is a bust, let's trade him

  3. I'm more erratic DURING the game. The game day thread is a sh*t show. After the game I take a step back and look at what went wrong and how to fix it and then try and forget about it. The way we lose is the worst part about all of this. Lots of dumb mistakes mixed with flashes of greatness and a chance for a win followed by is blowing it at the end with more stupid mistakes. If we got blown out vs a better team that would be one thing, but there's no doubt in my mind if we made fewer dumb mistakes and had the same luck as the Patriots we would be 3-0 (barely). The good news is that the mistakes are fixable and we still have a young team so with experience comes knowledge. So I'm optimistic that there will be better days ahead

I disagree with your first sentence. The Bills coaching staff are like helicopter parents. EJ isn't going to learn how to deal with adversity if they're too scared to let him fall down and skin his knee once in a while. And he isn't going to learn how to succeed if their afraid to let him try.

On the OL, that's a given and an absurd failure of the FO to not replace Levitre when they knew they were going all in on a rookie QB.

I would probably lean this way as well. I remember when Peyton Manning came in the league and I thought he was horrible. He only completed 50% of his passes and threw more int's than td's. But from that failure I'd have to assume he learned what NOT to do and only continued to get better from there. But then on the other side is Brady who never really had to deal with adversity and was in an offense where dump passes to the slot receiver and tight end were like extended running plays. I can't really say which way is better, it might be dependant on the type of person they are and how well they deal with success and failure

  5. There is a big difference in the way these 2 qb's are being assimilated into the NFL. With EJ it's like we are too scared for him to make mistakes so we let him throw a 5 yard hitch route every now and then. Half field reads and no scrambling. With Geno it's like the Jets just turned him loose and said do what you do we don't want to hold you back. Run around like a crazy person and throw bombs. With that approach he will make more mistakes but also make more big plays. It's a risk vs reward. I'm not sure which way is better but we will have to wait and see a few years down the road.

  6. on all of the coverage I've seen about the game, nobody has mentioned how we are playing our 3rd and 4th string DB's. I think we will be ok once everyone is healthy and these backups are only gaining valuable experience that will help for when they play them in nickel packages. I was never a fan of mckelvin but man these backups make him look like an all-pro!
