  1. In game 2, first play Brady is on the ground, have Adolphus take a running start and drive Brady's head and neck into the ground with his shoulder and all his body weight.  He's got 3 weeks to watch the Gronk tape 100 times to get the technique down.  Imitation is the finest form of flattery.

  2. 35 minutes ago, Plano said:

but what if Peterman is worse than Tyrod?

Better to know if he is bad now, than not know going into this offseason.  If he stinks then you go all in on Cousins or Alex Smith, or take a flyer on Bradford.  If you don't like that course of action, draft the college guy you like.  If Peterman is worse, the Bills will end up 6-10 and likely have a top 10 pick.

  3. To be fair, Shady is only averaging 49 yds/game on the road this season at a clip of 2.8 yds/carry. The offense line has been playing as a much more cohesive unit over the past 2 weeks, so it will be interesting to see if they can extend that performance on the road.

Jets have a porous run defense and without Wilkerson could be even worse. Expect them to load the box with 8 early and often forcing the action to TT. Shady's most important superhero power tonight just might be his underappreciated blitz pickup skills.

  4. This trade has disaster written all over it. Patriots just traded away their insurance policy if Brady gets hurt. If anything happens to Brady this turns into a horrible move for a second round pick.

Spot on as insurance. Reality is that JG is an UFA in 2018. The Pats had no intention of using the franchise tag on him with Brady still active and he was going to leave to pursue a starting gig (SF, WASH, CLEV). The move gives the Pats a good draft pick and SF a 8 game tryout on JG to see if he really can be their long term answer at QB. If so, they work out a long term deal or franchise tag him and trade their top 3 draft pick for a big package of picks. If he sucks, they pick a QB in the draft.

But as you said, this is a very risk tolerant move by the Pats. If Brady goes down, Pats Nation will go insane.

  5. Someone (possibly Ben Franklin, Mark Twain, Albert Einstein, or Rita Mae Brown) once said something like, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and always expecting different results." - Napmaster circa 2017

So, with that said, I am optimistic with the new approach and how the organization is thinking out of the box.

Have the Bills won the offseason? We've moved on from Whaley and the Ryan brothers, so yes, the Bills have won the 2017 offseason. Schedule the parade!

  6. The Bills are finally making cold hearted business decisions. The Whaley Era is officially over. No more crazy $100M contracts for a DT.

This is the correct option. Sammy is a great talent and he'll prove that in this his contract year IMO. So they either work out an extension or make him a qualifying offer of $3.5 million for 2018. Then sit back and see what the market offers for him. Match whatever offer he gets at market value or decline and get another #1 Draft Pick as compensation.

Only risk is the dreaded "Poison Pill".

  7. An interesting question. Actually a serious question. Are the Pats* allowed to recoup a pro-rated portion of Brady's signing bonus based on suspension due to conduct detrimental to the team/league?

    $80M (typo)

$30M signing bonus pro-rated over 5 years (80 games) is $375K. 4 game suspension = $1.5M. The Pats** would have an opportunity to profit $500K from this after paying their $1M fine.

  8. Patriots are repeat integrity of the game offenders, so discipline will be higher. The Sean Payton precedence set the standard of a coach being accountable for the actions of his team and coaches, even without any direct knowledge of what was occurring.

    Brady 8 games

    Belichick 1 season

    Patriots $1M fine

After reading the report which is way more scathing than I expected, I don't see how the NFL can give less than that. So that is what I expect.

I still don't see how Belichick avoided a suspension. That was the message they drove home via the Payton suspension for Bounty Gate. Bill should consider himself very lucky today.

  10. My initial reaction was based on "draft experts" ratings, so disappointment initially. Same experts that had Richard Sherman rated 5th/6th round talent. Just saying...

It's funny though, if waking up today you'd have told me the Bills took Miller at #50 and Darby at #81 I would be thrilled. Addressed OL with a grinder and added a speedster CB.

As an added bonus, we now have someone to line up opposite Goodwin in practice who won't be left completely in the dust.

  11. Michael Sam knows he does not have the talent to make an NFL roster. He effectively sealed his fate by going on DWTS, which was a smart decision by him. His PR advisor has been brilliant and good for him to cash in on his artificially generated fame.

No GM is going to take a flyer on a borderline prospect who is focusing on learning dance routines and not devoting 110% of his time to football and improving himself as a player. And yes, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt by even calling him borderline.
