  1. It's.....okay.

Don't like Floyd with the 10th pick. Hell, unless the player is like a Calvin Johnson type prospect I would stay away from a WR in the first round all together. Plenty of good WR's to be had throughout The Draft.

Like the Curry and Wilson pick.

T.Y. Hilton doesn't really fit the mold of what the Bills want in a receiver.

I personally don't think Bell is going to be resigned, so addressing the OT position in the 5th round seems too risky for me.

  2. We can sign Williams and still get a couple of decent FAs, so I don't get the poll exactly. We can't have VJ an MW but we can have one and more. BTW I say go for Williams. The D is instantly impressive and tough, the O already is okay and sometimes very okay.

I'm really trying to be in the mindset of Nix. Don't forget we have some more to sign of our own, Levitre and Byrd and extending Fred. Also we are going to have to really over pay for Williams or Vjax (more so Williams) I really don't think we will have enough room to sign another significant player.

  3. i'm more afraid to pick a DE in later rounds. what one, on any team, has made an impact in their first year... ever? pretty much all rookies struggle to get sacks in the NFL, but even moreso with non-1sts.

The thing is, this year all the projected round 2's and 3's the only big reason why they aren't higher on everyone's big boards is mostly because of the school they play for. Thats it really. When I look at someone like Vinny Curry I see him as having the same skill and statistical sets as Melvin Ingram. Curry is projected in the 2nd, and Ingram is possibly a top 10 pick. Why? School. Now I know that the smaller schools don't really gander up tough competition, but the fundamentals are still there. It's simply down too can the guy play or not. And Curry is as good as Ingram, the only difference is we can save our #10 pick for another need with Curry (hopefully) waiting in the wings.

  4. I doubt The Browns goes for either Flynn or Manning. They have the upper hand. They are probably hoping that Manning goes to the Phins, and Flynn goes to the Skins. That leaves them all alone and all they have to do is sit there and not give up anything. So that would leave just us and the Browns. The Rams are being a little greedy with that No.2, apparently no team has made an offer that has pleased them. So The Rams are really looking for someone to sell their souls for that pick. I just can't see Buddy Nix bending over like that.

  5. Fitz's single biggest short coming is his accuracy, especially down the field accuracy. With proper off season training to improve his foot work and improve his core body strength, he can improve his accuracy. Now as the unquestioned starter, with the contract to prove it, with a full off season to work with, the question is... will he put in the work to address his most glaring weakness?

If he does, IMO, his performance will improve dramatically and so will the team's fortunes. Unfortunately, we won't really know until next season starts.

For those wanting to draft a QB of the future, just be prepared for heartache. Given Fitz's past performance and the glaring needs we have elswhere, I think its highly unlikely they draft a QB in the first round. Fitz has shown enough flash to get next season, but I think we can all agree he needs to improve. Let's just hope he does.

Amen brother. Fitz is a fighter. As corny as that phrase is, can anyone argue otherwise? I'm willing to believe Fitz is working day and night to improve his game.

Also, I might be wrong, but have there been reports that apparently Fitz has really beefed up the last couple of weeks from going to the gym? I thought I saw that somewhere.

  6. Ok I can understand the criticism of his inaccuracy's and what not. I just can't understand the attitude some people have towards him. Like they want him to fail. Fitz is the best option we have right now. RGIII forget about it, too much cost on a team that has many needs. Matt Flynn too risky, we tried that with Rob Johnson and look how that turned out. Manning pffft yeah okay.

I like Fitz, from a character stand point I think he's great, but that doesn't mean I can't see his flaws. I think Fitz should be given 1 more year to prove himself, most of his problems stem from his fundamentals, and we just acquired a QB fundamental guru as his coach. Let's give him a year, and if it doesn't work out, well, Prepare for the arrival of Landry Jones, or Tyler Wilson.

  7. Drew Brees has done it. Its all about having good interior linemen to move guys out of your lanes to see.

Well if he is going to be like Drew Brees remains to be seen. I just love the guy's upside. I'd rather have that than say Osweiler, who can touch the moon but has serious accuracy problems. I look at Osweiler and I see a tough project for years to come. I look at Wilson and I see a guy who will either work or not. If he doesn't no biggie, we will move on.

  8. your draft is cool with me as long as we sign a #1 receiver in FA so we can move Stevie back to being the deadliest #2 receiver in the league

I really doubt it. We might make a run at V. Jax, or Colston, but we won't break bank for them. In Buddy's eyes, we have a #1 receiver, no need to go out and spend $10 million (which is reportedly what V. Jax is asking for) on another #1. Plus Buddy says he likes our receivers. I think he has very high hopes that Easley might be the missing link that the offense needs. But of course he will want a little security, so he I really think either Streeter, or Quick (if they are available in the 3rd) is what he'll go after.

  9. Russell Wilson sucks IMO. I'd rather have just about any qb in the draft. He's fast, that's about it.

He has great accuracy, arm strength, and one of the cleanest fastest releases in recent memory, and yes I'm including Luck and RGIII in that comparison. I can see a bankable argument about his size limiting him too much in the NFL, but you can't deny the kid has had a great college career. I just think if he can "get" the next level and over come his height defect, he would be amazing.

  10. No doubt there will be a decent pass rushing prospect on the board for us in the 2nd round, but will Curry last that long? Seems a lot of people are impressed with him.

Yeah, thats always the fear whenever you plan too far ahead on any mock draft. As we all know after the top 5, anything goes as far as predicting who drafts who.

Some might say Curry had a "bad" combine. That could really work for the Bills favor.

Can definitely see an LT with our 1st round pick. If injury-prone Bell is gonna command a decent contract, and you can get a starting caliber LT at pick #10, you do it. #10 pick last year was Gabbert and he signed a 4 year $12m contract with option for a 5th year. Upgrading an important position while spending less to do so makes a lot of sense.

Yeah certainly. And I don't think our line is bad. I think its average. With putting someone like Martin in there could possibly push us to the above average, maybe even great if the line stays relatively healthy for most of next season.

  11. I like Martin over Bell, Curry over everyone we have, and Streeter's one of the better big WR's in this draft. However, there's a big WR in almost every round (RD3=Dwight Jones, RD5=Brian Quick, RD6=Damarlo Belcher, RD7=Lavoisier Tuinei) so there has to be a valid reason to take WR over CB at RD3.

Jones and Quick are good, and big, but Streeter is faster.

reasonable excepting consideration of VJ. i cant see that now. A free agent wr should be picked up in my opinion, and we know the list that would fit our budget. But we should upgrade at #2 with Steven signed.

Martin i can understand and good pick, just not my pick.

Curry i have a man crush on so i am not reasonable and will be delighted if he lands at 41.

Streeter i have read good things about. Our 3 4a 4b should be a WR and or pass rushers.

Cb is an issue. not sure we will pay big for one. Also, i am not sure we won't get at # 1pick. if it falls to us and i think it might.

After seeing how aggressive The Bills were on Routte early this off season, I really think Buddy wants an experienced corner. The only way Martin is not our pick, is if by some miraculous happenings, Claibourne drops to us.

  12. 1. Jonathan Martin OT Stanford-This to me is a safe pick. I know some really want a WR here but after hearing what Buddy said today, it seems he likes his receivers right now. he did mention he might add one through FA or the draft, and we will get to that later. I don't think D. Bell is worth the risk, yes, when he did play he played well, but at such an important position on the line I don't want to play OL musical chairs mid way through the season like last year. I would still resign Bell, but keep him for depth purposes.

    2. Vinny Curry DE Marshall-I actually think its smart for Buddy to wait on a pass rusher. I think Curry has just as much potential as any pass rusher that is projected to go in the first. The only knock on him is that he never really played against elite talent. That being said in his senior year he was constantly facing double teams and was still producing good numbers, thats good enough for me. Plus with Dareus, and a 100% Williams clogging up the middle, demanding double teams, leaves Curry to go 1 on 1. I like those odds. And if Curry thrives, he will demand double teams, leaving either Dareus or Williams 1 on 1. I like those odds as well. A win win!

    3. Tommy Streeter WR Miami-Now here's where we will answer our possible No.2 receiver. The Bills might make a run at Vincent Jackson in FA, but I think other teams with more cap space like NE, will snatch him up. BUT THATS OK! Because we will pick up Streeter. This guy fits the mold of everything Buddy wants in a receiver, tall and fast. Here we will get the deep threat that was missing last year.

4a.Coryell Judie CB Texas A&M-I really think Buddy is going to go all out to get Brandon Carr if he hits FA (which I think is going to happen). Carr might be our big FA signing, and I'm okay with that. Buddy did say though he wants 2 more corners, enter Judie.

4b.Russell Wilson QB Wisconsin-Ok I hear all the complaints about his height. BUT!! I think this guy has just as much upside as Luck, and RGIII. If Wilson makes the transition smoothly he could be just as dangerous as the 2 other QB's mention if they also make a smooth transition. I'd rather have a back up/potential groomer thats someone who has a measurable defect and has unbelievable upside, rather than someone who looks like a QB but... well I guess thats it, they just look like a QB. Plus I think Wilson would THRIVE! under Chan's system. Let's pick the kid up and see what he's got. If he sucks, no real skin off our backs.

Now the rest of the Draft should have three things in mind and they are 1. Depth 2.Depth and 3. Depth. O wait there's a 4th and that Depth. Depth in the LB's, and the OL especially.

Well thats my 2 cents. Tell me what you think.

  13. As much as I think Claiborne is great, I can't handle drafting another CB in the first again.

Like WR's their are plenty of good CB's to be picked up in the later rounds. Hell we went CB in the 2nd round last year and I think Williams, from seeing his production after he got injured, might be the best CB we have drafted in a long time.

Same with WR's. I don't get the concept of using your first round, especially in the top 10, on a no. 2 receiver (assuming Stevie resigns, if not then things change a bit). Receivers are a dime a dozen, and very good ones can be gotten after the 1st round.

  14. Love it!

Let the Chiefs get Routt, but show heavy interest in him. The Chiefs sign Routt, and with Flowers and Berry, the Chiefs will be forced to let Carr go, the better CB, who Buddy will go and get him!

I've said it before on this forum, if there is any big FA this season, it will be in the secondary. Nix likes acquiring corners for depth reasons. I can see Nix being far more aggressive on people like Carr. I also said I don't think Routt would not be that guy.
