  1. And every interview this woman has done and every time this woman opens her mouth, she sounds like a self-righteous, self-serving you know what. She is supposedly "sad" and "crying" and emotionally hurt, but she admits in her interview with Anderson Cooper that she's worried about how much tax she's supposed to pay on her newfound money????!!!!! Tell me this isn't real. It can't be. It just can't be. I want to cry because of how disgusting American society has become.

    http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2012/06/23/karen-klein-i-dont-really-think-theyre-sorry/

  2. This "Includes", meaning that said job encompasses more than one aspect in addition to the aspects I mentioned. 3rd grade english language lesson aside, she has as much authority to tell the principal/assistant principal/any disciplinarian of her choice as the bus driver does....which is to say, a lot. I have ridden the school bus before amazingly enough. Not only does she have that authority, she is also able to force said children to separate from their clique and move to different parts of the bus until the problem can be rectified more thoroughly. Don't give me the "she was a helpless martyr to ruthless 12 year old" routine. If she was that helpless, like I said in my prior post, she should have been given the proverbial boot. And I still havent ruled out that she may have lambasted those kids all year and only backed into her corner when ganged up on. Elderly people can be just as brutal, if not more brutal, than children can be.

Wrong. Her job is to keep the kids safe and allow the driver to focus on the road. The kids weren't doing anything to harm each other or distract the driver. She has zero authority to punish anyone. The only action that can be taken while on the bus is to have the kids change seats or require they sit down if standing. If they refuse the drivers only option is to pull over and have the kid removed from the bus.

  3. Ok. So they called her fat and made her cry...that's a crappy thing to do to someone. But let's be honest, if I had a half mill for every time someone called me fat or ugly or four-eyed or whatever, I'd be able to purchase majority ownership of the Bills+Facebook. I lost ALL sympathy for Ms. Klein the second people began to toss money at her....here's why.

1.) She is a bus aide. The main thing a bus aide is supposed to accomplish is the maintaining of law and order on said bus. This includes punishing wrongdoers, and keeping miscreants in their seats, and in line. Clearly, one of two things happened on Ms. Klein's bus. Either she was so strict in her order-keeping that the kids had had enough of her over-the-top harsh lashings, verbal or otherwise, or she was amazingly inept at her job, and for an entire year let those kids run rampant on the bus and do whatever they could imagine to her and to each other. I'm prone to thinking it's the latter. If so, cut her loose, thereby getting rid of the possibility of this happening. If you're a bus aide that is supposed to keep the kids in line, and you fail to keep them in line, then you are failing at your job. As far as I know, if any one of us were failing at the single most important aspect of our job, we would either be warned, written up, or fired immediately. Not that Ms. Klein will ever have to work again if she has a single brain cell remaining, but still. And I'm not saying that either of the aforementioned situations must have been true, but it certainly seems likely that one of said situations was true.

2.) A HALF MILLION DOLLARS?! Is anyone aware of the staggering number of charities/non-profits that could use the money given to Ms. Klein in order to attempt to cure cancer, MS, muscular dystrophy, AIDS, HIV, lupus, or even the common cold? How about similar charities that aim to help children/adults/veterans/addicts/homeless/orphans/refugees in need? You have got to be kidding me. If I were Ms. Klein and I had an ounce of conscience, I would give that money to the charity of my choice. I would be disgusted at my own inability to handle the most transparent of insults spewed forth by a 13 year old. Give me a break.

Now, don't get me wrong....the way kids treat their elders these days is nothing short of appauling. But adults are adults and kids are kids for a reason, that is, because adults are emotionally mature enough to handle being called fat and ugly and sweaty and smelly and multi-chinned. Or at least they should be. I empathized with Ms. Klein until I heard that someone was shelling out that money, and now I'm disgusted that her martyrdom is being parlayed into a world tour of praise and queen-like treatment. Next, we will be asked to buy her book and go to book signings like we were with Susan Boyle. What ever happened to being tough and pulling oneself up by one's bootstraps. Sickening.

  4. This is where I'd like Buddy to get aggressive and package a few of our extra picks to get the Colts #2 so we can take care of the OT problem with either Glenn, Massie, Adams, Shwartz--whoever they like best--so they can get their guy. Fingers crossed...

Are you as dumb as you sound lmao. Seriously you just named 4 guys you'd like. Of them, Martin or Adams MIGHT project as an LT. And Randle/Hill/David would be better than the others. So we should give up extra picks to move up to grab one of 5 guys (7 if we include the bozos you mentioned) when we most likely could grab one of them at 41, and probably will have our choice of at least 3-5 of them. Wow. Just wow.

  5. Why do the Bills continuously have hard ons for DBs that are a dime a dozen? Take two steps forward with Williams and Anderson and five steps back with a wasted draft pick. This team just doesn't get it. This team needs offensive weapons for the noodle armed QB it has, but hey, let's draft defense so we don't have to rely on scoring points. :wallbash:

Stop comparing Gilmore to McKelvin and Whitner, it just doesn't make sense...SEC vs. Troy's conference, and 4 years of good production vs. 1 year of production out of Whitner. Not to mention that McKelvin and Gilmore are completely different corners. So we should've gone with Floyd? Ok I wouldn't have minded that, but I'd rather see Buddy continue his current plan of strengthening one side of the ball rather than try to patch holes. We can get a guy in Jeffrey, Quick or maybe even Hill that will produce just as much as Floyd will. And with the same size/speed too, minus the character issues.

  6. Bobbie Massey - OT -- if we can get him in round 2 - He will be our LT for the next 10 years if draft him.

Massie will not play a down at LT in the NFL, unless a GM is trying to get fired. While I'm at it, two great LTs come to mind right now and they are Jake Long and Joe Thomas. How are Miami and Cleveland doing. You dont go out of your way to get an LT high in the draft unless you have the other requisite pieces in place (QB, RB, WRs).

  7. :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

I laughed at this pick just like when the Bills selected Spiller. Just when the Bills make a good move signing Mario Williams, they lose the chance to take another big step forward. CB's don't win games. I get that Kalil and Keuchly were gone but how about a guy who can make plays like like Floyd or someone to help in pass protection and the running game like Reiff. Gilmore may be a solid player but get me someone who has more of an impact on the game. This is just stupid.

    :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

TI am so sick and tired of reading ignorant posts from ignorant "fans" on this board!! There are far too many people here who make it seem like they know what is the best way to put together a winning team. How many times does Buddy have to say that he likes Hairston at LT? Reiff is an RT at best, and may not even end up being that for the Lions in a few years. Hell the Lions only took him because he dropped to 23. And he dropped for a reason...he will never be even adequate at LT in the NFL. Secondly, Buddy wants high character, good football players. Floyd has off field issues, which shows that football does not mean enough to him. If it did, he would concentrate on football and get his act together. Now on to Gilmore. CB was clearly a need for this team for the aforementioned reasons. Did anyone hear Gilmore's interview with the Buffalo media? He said something to the effect of "football is my life". This guy eats, sleeps and breathes football. He's fast, big, physical, athletic, and agile. Great pick by Buddy, who like previous posters said, telegraphed the Gilmore pick. Buddy is clearly fixing one side of the ball. I am sure that even before hiring Wanny at DC, he agreed with Chan tht the defense was the weakest unit on the team, and therefore the unit that needed to be addressed. Thus far, he has succeeded immensely in doing just that. Buddy has enough faith in his offense (with a receiver added in rounds 2 or 3) that he doesnt feel the need to upgrade yet. So trust him. He has done the defense wonders, and will do the same with the offense if/when he sees fit. He knows what he is doing, or at least knows what he is doing a hell of a lot more than the naysayers posting on TSW.

  8. Odd, as he never told coach about his kids even, that they'd be so confident in anything else he told them. Unless, I suppose, they have an interest in saying he was good.

I love this ^^^ nothing like some good cynicism around here.

I dont mean to be argumentative or say that you're wrong, because I could be way off here myself, but I interpreted those statements differently. I think the mentions of competition in different areas was less of an indicator of their perception of strength, but more an indicator of Nix and Whaley not wanting to throw any of their current players under the bus.

Can you imagine if they sat at the presser and said, "Kirk Morrison sucks, so we HAVE to get an LB early to take over that spot," or "Do you guys really think we are okay with DAVID JONES goin out there opposite Stevie?" I'm not saying that they think those things, but I just interpreted the statements as more or less standard PC stuff.

I do agree with you that Buddy seems to be clear that he wont reach for a need and pretty much any position is an option, but not based on those statements alone...

arrgh! like I said in another thread, I want Floyd so I'm trying to construe everything to fit with Floyd being the pick

Are the Bills employing former members of the Monkees now?

  9. well if your going to be bashing people, I will hop in...no need for the comma in that sentence, remove comma and you have a complete sentence.

aside from English writing lessons, I like Hill as a project, but definately NOT with the 10 pick

Correction: Aside from English writing lessons, I like Hill as a project, but definitelyNOT with the 10 pick.

Seriously, unless your grammar, spelling, syntax and composition skills are perfect, do not correct the errors of other people.

  10. Stevie and I believe Barnett is from the west coast. I'm sure there are many other players on the team from there also so, it would be nice for the team to explore different cities together as a team and brothers and build camaraderie...

Right because they wouldn't be practicing or anything.

  11. In my opinion, the Bills' clear number one need is to find a good starting OLT. I disagree with those that say that Chris Hairston showed enough to warrant starting this year.

I am not suggesting that the team does not also have a crying need for another NFL starting-caliber WR and for 1-2 starting-caliber OLBs.

It looks to be a particularly bad year to need to find an OLT. We've been through the suspects ad-nauseum:

Reiff looks more like a RT or even a G to many.

Glenn looks like a RT on a good day and a G to many others. NFL Network's Mike Mayock recently said that he didn't think Glenn should go until round 2.

Jonathan Martin is not well-regarded by many and may be a stretch to eventually start at either OT position.

Mike Adams is a very talented under-achiever.

While I strongly believe that the offense will be grounded without a starting-caliber OLT, I don't particularly want to take my chances on any of the iffy players available who MIGHT be able to play that position. However, I am not much higher on any of the prospects at the Bills' other positions of need.

I am leery of Michael Floyd's off-field problems, however I am heartened by his year of trouble free behavior.

I am not totally sold on Luke Kuechly at OLB, but he seems a safe pick with a high floor.

The best-bets, in my opinion (based on my reading of Pro Football Weekly and Russ Lande - former NFL scout, as well as NFL Network's Mayock) are mostly defensive players:

DT Fletcher Cox is pretty highly regarded by many, but the Bills' seem pretty set at DT with Dareus and Kyle Williams.

DE Melvin Ingram looks like he could be a highly productive pass rusher, but I don't think he can play 4-3 OLB. Where does he play with Mario Williams on-board?

Pick-your-favorite CB among Kirkpatrick and Gilmore - Gilmore has less baggage, but Kirkpatrick has a bit better ability (again, based on what I've read).

S Mark Barron is highly regarded, but I think the Bills are pretty OK there with Byrd and Wilson. This guy is a dark-horse candidate for the 10th pick IMHO

To me, this is a very shaky year in terms of talent in the draft. I've been following the draft very closely for 25+ years and I don't ever remember being so under-whelmed with the possible Bills' selections in round 1. Now, I know that there might be some depth in the mid-rounds 2-4, but it's hard to make up for it, if the first round pick doesn't pan out.

I've flip-flopped all over the place on this, but at the moment my view is that I'd strongly consider Kuechley and Floyd at 10, with some consideration for Gilmore/Kirkpatrick and Barron. I think the OTs are all way too questionable to invest that high of a pick on, unless the Bills think that Erik Pears also needs to be replaced at RT. If that is the case, then Reiff/Glenn look a little more attractive as their fall-back position would also be considered a position of need.

Lastly, I am not in favor of this, BUT with the questions surrounding the top candidates at the Bills' main positions of need, it might make sense to take a chance on Ryan Tannehill.

Finally, I talked myself off the LT ledge by looking at the starting LT on last year's playoff teams. DO NOT read this to say that I don't believe that a good-very good LT is not an important part of a good offense. However, many teams last year were successful without pro-bowl caliber OLTs:

Hou: Duane Brown - drafted late first/early 2nd can't remember, but he wasn't ultra-highly regarded

Pitt: Max Starks - not a highly drafted guy

Balt: Bryant McKinnie - high draft pick who didn't live up to his status and wasn't in particularly good shape (reportedly) last year.

NE: Matt Light - 2nd round pick, who has done a good, not great job for the Pats

Jets: D'Brickashaw Ferguson - high number 1 pick who is good.

Den Ryan Clady - high number 1 pick who is good.

GB M. Newhouse - Don't know ANYTHING about this guy

Det Jeff Backus - career over-achiever whom they would like to replace

Atl Sam Baker/Will Svitek - Baker has disappointed and Svitek is a journeyman

NO Jermane Bushrod - nothing special

Giants: William Beatty - lightly regarded mid-round pick who wasn't considered tough enough

49ers: Joe Staley - wasn't highly regarded in the draft - OT/G tweener.

With all that in mind, maybe it is OK to take a chance on one of the OTs at 10 and hope that they are adequate at LT.

    Constructive opinions welcomed.

Castonzo started for the Colts...I think more than 10 games too. IMO, you CAN find a serviceable/good/Pro Bowl LT anywhere, including as an UDFA, so we should go Floyd or Kuechly. But, I don't think they will go either, and I think it will end up being Kirkpatrick/Gilmore, Glenn, Tannehill or Ingram/Cox/other BPA.

Last year no rookie OT started at LT for his team...except for the Bills' Chris Hairston, and that was because of injuries. Expecting one to come in this year and start, much less play at a high level, is expecting too much.

My apologies to the OP...it wasn't you who made this statement about no rookie starting at LT, it was ^^^. Anyway, like I said, Castonzo from BC started like 12 games at LT for the Colts.

  12. oops, forgot about a dre kirkpatrick or cb type pick with that 10..

I think it's going to be trading down to get Glenn or Kirkpatrick. I would argue approximately 90% of the draft picks from the Chan/Buddy era have been players from the South.....and I would argue that 100% of the players from rounds 1-3 have been from the South: 2010: Spiller (Clemson) Troup (UCF) Carrington (Arkansas St.)...2011: Dareus (Alabama) A. Williams (Texas) Sheppard (LSU)

Point is, Buddy and Chan like guys in the early rounds from the South....that's why I don't think Reiff, Martin, Floyd, or any other Northern/Midwestern/Western players are in play. Now it could be a coincidence, and if the Bills had the number 1 pick, there's no way they wouldn't take Andrew Luck, but I think barring very special circumstances such as an Andrew Luck, Buddy and Chan will be selecting a Southern player.

  13. Im not on the floyd wagon.

Id take Ingram/ gilmore then jeffrey @ 41.

Dude you're on every single thread talking about Alshon Jeffrey. There are at least ten guys I would rather have at #41 than him. And two of them are receivers. Now to weigh in on taking Reiff at #10...NO. You can get a serviceable to above-average tackle anywhere in the draft or free agency. Hell, look at Bell/Peters. I'm not worried about tackle right now, especially since Chan can seemingly make any line look halfway decent. Get Michael Floyd and let him work his magic.

  14. Casserly:

    Gosselin (had Gabbert going #7):

So HuSeYiN1978...Mayock, Kiper, Brandt, McShay, Casserly and Gosselin all had Gabbert going very high in round 1 and some had him graded as the #1 QB. Now who you gonna listen to?

Really though, Jim Harbaugh did something that so many others could not, made Alex Smith a winning QB. So who's to say he couldn't do the same with Gabbert. Honestly, Gabbert doesn't have much of anything besides MJD to work with, and really only played one season, so I think the jury is still out there.

  15. Maybe this is just me, but personally I would love it if the Bills traded down to get 2 late first round picks...ok I know they would never do it, but for example New England's two late first round (27, 31) picks. The points work out and New England has needs for a dominating defensive player, either at CB or somewhere along the DL. They could grab Poe or Ingram or anyone there. Now the Bills could get two very good quality players at positions of need... You can maybe grab Donta Hightower and Stephen Hill (personally I love this guy's height and speed and Chan connections and on and on). Anyway I wouldn't mind staying put and grabbing Ingram at 10 but I think we can do better to move down, not that New England would. But at #10 I would take Ingram or Floyd, maybe even Kuechly.

  16. Kuechly, as has been mentioned many times, both here and on draft sites, has the skill set to play OLB or ILB. He is also a "3-down linebacker", that wouldn't have to leave the field in obvious passing situations, and wouldn't be a liability if a team decides to pass on early downs. That's nice to have.

It would not be giving up on Sheppard.

But the real question is...Does he have character issues? Is he a drug user/dealer, DWI waiting to happen, etc? That's the only way Matthew's Bag likes a player. God knows he doesn't like any positive role models for our kids.
