Aldon Smith from SF comes to mind. I remember just thinking "who?" when he was drafted. Career got derailed but while he was playing he justified being a first rd pick

This ignores the fact that another team was trying to trade up to the same spot. Kincaid may have been their target as well. Plus who knows who would have tried to trade with Dallas if Kincaid is on the board with the Cowboys on the clock. A lot more at play than just what the Cowboys were looking to do.

Nah. Didn’t go to Harvard.
But does he wear his wedding ring while he plays?

We may have a leg up on getting his type of player ( i.e. injury history with potential to recapture their former glory) with our state of the art training facility

Plenty of faith left in my tank. As others have stated.... it's Belichick, the team plays for him and he has shown progress in every facet from his first game till now. Progress usually has a few set backs. Allen will use this as an opportunity to learn. He's that kind of player. The film from today will be invaluable for him going forward.
I felt like we were coming back and poised for the wiwin until Allen went down. #&$^$*@ Cheap shot

If Peter Venkman taught us nothing else, he taught us the answer is always Yes

Yeah it's not a good fit for us one bit. But I'll be very interested in his career going forward. I think he'll be just fine and have playoff success on good teams.
He also might always hold a team back from going all the way for many reasons but I think he makes many of the better landing spots for him a contender.
Don't know if it's a possibility, but the Rams are the type to take this gamble.. maybe they shed a Suh and Cooks contract or something and got him. They've been more than willing on mortgaging the future in picks and contracts for troubled talent, plus he'd be getting a quarterback getting better in his 4th year and providing his best offense yet. His best landing spot IMO.
Could Chi swing it? I could see them doubling down on their window if they have the chips/cap to do it

Then why did he follow him to Jacksonville
I can't claim to know the answer to that one... loyalty, best chance of remaining in the NFL, maybe he didn't mind the constraint (didn't have to be adversarial)... who knows. Now we'll see what Hackett can do with a top QB.
Others have mentioned that his concepts and plays look good. Execution. particularly at the QB position may have been what has been holding him back. Unless something unforeseen happens there will be no excuses after this though

I think Marrone held Hackett back alot. Always wondered to what degree, but my assumption was it was a high one. I'm very curious to see how this goes. Either way we'll have an answer in the near future

Not just real, but promising. Tires are a fair approximation of our receiving corps.
Don't we have to lite them on fire first though?

I doubt it since they have a new OC in Jeremy Bates who's installing a different offense.
Good point. Then I'm stumped lol

Christian Hackenberg visiting New England Patriots
After spending less than a month in Oakland, free agent QB Christian Hackenberg is visiting the New England Patriots today, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
ESPN first reported the visit.
The former Penn State QB cleared waivers on Wednesday after the Raiders waived Hackenberg one day earlier. Oakland acquired him from the New York Jets in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick on May 22.
New England's quarterback arsenal currently consists of Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer and rookie seventh-round pick Danny Etling, and while the Patriots are not expected to sign Hackenberg, he remains an option going forward, according to Garafolo.
WTF.
Picking his brain regarding the JESTS I would imagine

Went to 716 Sunday afternoon for lunch. Place was empty. It will be quite packed the first day of the draft. Had my wife, my son, his friend & his parents there. The dad & I had 2 beers, the wives had 1 Blue Moon each, & we got sandwiches. The food was okay, I don't think it was anything special. The Bill with tip cam to $155.00, which I picked up(I wanted to pay for it, the other dad does a ton of nice stuff for my son). Pretty pricey, if you go bring your checkbook. My point is, there are better places to watch the draft. I would go to Santorros or Amherst Ale house if I was you.
Appreciate the info, I've never been, so the novelty factor is there. Tossed it out (716) with a few other options and that was the consensus. Santorros will go on my list with the multiple recommendations in this thread

I'm coming in from Olean too (born and raised in Buffalo though). The draft is something I come into town every year and get together with my closest friends for. We always joke about the draft being our Superbowl since it's typically (before breaking the streak,) the Bills highpoint for the year lol. 716 will be our spot this time

And they may not drop into the top-5 again in the near future. If you have an opportunity for a franchise QB, you always get it. The Bills were unlucky when they had the 3rd overall pick...Only 2 QBs were avaiable and take before them.
The year we took Dareus? Wasn't the draft order Newton, Miller, Dareus?
Luck not coming out that year cost us

Noticed that a lot Sunday. I was surprised at how many fans were being intentionally loud during the wrong moments
