Smokescreen.
Or at the least, making the steps to satiate the fans appetite and go "well we tried, but the right deal wasn't there to do it that made sense for us."
And Beane will go on to say, "But we drafted Devontez Walker and we think this kid is going to be a star."

He lost me with Xavier Leggette as round 1 and the 4th receiver on the board over Brian Thomas Jr. I've watched a lot of these and nobody has ever been that high on Leggette. It reminds me of when Chris Trepasso had Mason Rudolph as his QB1 and said he would be the next Marino. I think these guys try to be controversial on purpose so if it pans out then they look smart
I don't think Legette is out of the question in round 1.
The draftniks work in that space for a reason, and the scouts, talent evaluators and personnel guys work on teams for a reason - they are the pros.
-
I am a fan of Legette.
Tbh, Ladd is the ONLY WR prospect of the top 10-12 guys I'd be disappointed in if we draft him. I just didn't see any elite traits that would propel him to be this team's #1 WR at all.

So a LB who would only play special teams for a couple seasons......OK.
Resident Aggies fan so I am bias, but he's best LB in the nation.
Who knows how TB and Milano will be this year post injuries...
You want AJ Klein against the Chiefs in the playoffs again? Lol

My mock is:
1.28 - Bills go with best CB available, which will be Kool-Aid McKinstry
2.42 - Bills trade up with Houston and send them 2.60 with Kaiir Elam to jump up and take a WR. Bills continue rolling doing deals with Houston and Elam follows Diggs to Texas where Elam had a previous top-30 visit to Houston in 2022.
With this pick the Bills select Xavier Legette to be their WR of choice.
The Bills aren't done there.
2.46 - Bills make a trade with Indianapolis sending the 2025 HOU 2nd (via MIN), 2024 4.128 and 2024 5.160 (via GB) and select LB, Edgerrin Cooper out of Texas A&M
No 3rd round pick, but the Bills then still have:
4.133
5.144
5.163
6.200
6.204
7.248

Forgot about Shavers. He's cool.
I'm a Shorter fan, but that hammy concerns me - we'll see!
-
Does the new 25% owner take on 25% of the upcoming stadium overruns?
I would probably think so, lol.
-
I'm so confused.
Is this the stuff that amuses American society today?
We're so doomed.

is that I now believe the narrative on Josh and the Bills in general has changed. We are now according to the media a non contender. We lost both our top two receivers and one being a top five guy in Diggs. We had to let go of our safeties, our Center, and our best pass rusher from last season.
The window is closed. The Bills won't be a threat, and Josh has a rag tag group to throw to.
This to me opens up the door for Josh to elevate his game this season...to stay within himself and the offense to put up a phenomenal season which will give the media no other option but to recognize his greatness and finally let him win his first MVP award.
This team is not what the media is portraying it in my eyes, but that doesn't matter because they have already decided we are worse, that Josh has no real receivers, and that we are yesterday's news.
It's a good spot to be in for not just the team, but for Josh and his MVP chances
I'm sorry, but who was that?
-
And draft Edgerrin Cooper @ #28 or trading up in the 2nd with the Milano comp.?
As much as I'm an Aggies fan, even I couldn't do that.
-
Stef.
No other WR did what he did for years in a row despite guys like Reed, Lofton, Moulds, Price, T.O., and Evans.

As long as we have Josh, we're fine.

What is the point of social media?
I don't get it ...

I guess whoever posted about Diggs being on the out because his hot sauce was being discontinued had their nose on the right path! Lol.

I'd rather take a guy at 28, and move up from 60 to take another good WR.
Let those guys compete like hell.
Let Samuel compete for shares, and we know Shakir will as well.
I'll take Mitchell/Franklin and Legette/Polk/McMillian/A. Smith.

Let's look at Top 15 WRs in the last handful of years.
2017
#5 - Corey Davis
#7 - Mike Williams
#9 - John Ross
2018
None
2019
None
2020
#12 Henry Riggs
#15 Jerry Jeudy
2021
#5 Ja'Maar Chase (#1 WR)
#6 Jaylen Waddle
#10 DeVonta Smith
2022
#8 Drake London
#10 Garret Wilson (#1 WR)
#11 Chris Olave
#12 Jameson Williams
2023
None
It's not that impressive of a list.
How many true #1s are on this list? 2?
2 in 7 years. Olave is fringe. Waddle is #2 to Hill, Smith is #2 to AJ Brown, and Mike Williams was #2 to Keenan Allen.
You never know what's gonna happen.

So it's a one year deal with Houston paying him more this year and tearing up the final 3 years of his deal?
What am I missing?
Houston traded a potentially Top 40 pick next year for a couple Day 3 picks and a rental?.. And Diggs wants to test FA at his age 32 season?
Beane playing 3D chess and bringing Diggs back on vet minimum in 2025 😆

Aiyuk is a beast and is a #1.
