  1. 1- defense, coaching being the major problem at the moment

2- bad offensive play calls in critical situations

    3- average QB.

We fix #1 and #2 and we could easily make the playoffs.

    Fixing #1 might improve #2.

  2. I agree, if Jackson has eaten his Wheaties and is suddenly smart enough to learn a playbook that over the course of two months he hasn't been able to. Besides, you are right, you can't possible do worse? Fitz is bad, real bad and he isn't getting any better, he is what you see and nothing more.

What was Fitz when he came here? A career backup who wasn't good enough to be a backup on the Bengals? You might get a disaster if you play Jackson-but you MIGHT NOT TOO! You won't know until you try. He has had much more success winning games starting then Fitz has, so what can it hurt? You either win or lose, and you can't get much worse then losing games you should be able to win with even an average QB.

i pretty much agree. i would be on board if it was a Trent Edwards situation where we were putting up 9 points per game. However, there are so many other teams that have QBs that throw a lot of INTs and they still win because their defense can limit points, stop drives..

  3. The reason for losses... pretty simple i think..

    1- Bad defense (mostly coaching)

2- HC makes bad play calls at critical times...

3- QB is average and not able to overcome #1 and #2 like maybe a Drew Brees would.

I guess the problem is fixing all these things. i REALLLLY wish we never dumped Perry fewell.

  4. Losman was terrible. yup, to the bench.

Edwards was terrible. So yeah, bench.

Fitz... not terrible, more so just not good.

Behind him in the locker room there are two others guys who are not good.

I'm not sure at what point you bench someone who is not good for someone who is not good..... that is if we're looking to improve, not just change because we can.

  5. Great win. Still not elite, we know this.

What we need to do i think...

improve / Keep defense playing well

Not make stupid play calls like throwing a bomb instead of running down the clock and playing defense. I've always been 100% behind coaching and the sometimes gutsy calls, but there were a few in this came you just can make.

  6. I have to agree. The Brad Smith pass and the conservative play calling when we got the ball back with over minute to play. It was the first time I really blamed the play calling. If we would have lost people would have been calling for his head.

100% agree. I've never criticized play calling ever but the brad Smith pass was so so bad. Run out the clock.

  7. 1. Lack of toughness

    2. Fitzpatrick

    1. In an interview on BuffaloBills.com Eric Wood was asked questions about the problems the Bills are having. He fairly clearly stated that he felt the team has gone soft in the 2nd half. Initially, he stated that they "laid down". Prior to this all of what he said backed this up. Because "laid down" is a strong term, a reporter called him out a bit and said "laid down is a loaded term, what do you really mean by that?" At that point Wood backtracked a bit and said he didn't think they quit. Translation of all this: The team quit and has gone soft. Eric even went on to say that there are leaders in all the position rooms and he does not feel it is his place to call out players in positions other than O-Line. He said something like it is not his role to call anyone out on the defense (strongly hinting that the defense has gone extremely soft).

Think about this. The NFL is a really physical league and putting emphasis behind all of your hits and bumps leads to a lot more pain on Mondays. It really does take a lot of mental toughness to fight hard throughout an entire game and this team is not displaying that toughness. That is by far the Bills biggest problem.

    2. Fitzpatrick obviously has not played well and it is fairly clear that he is a game manager at best. And when you're not even sure if he is good enough to be a game manager, you're in trouble. I hold just a little reservation on this because at the beginning of last year he showed an ability to really light it up. I'm talking he was carving defenses up drive after drive at times. However, I do not think that was his true quarterback self manifesting. He is not a good NFL quarterback and very likely never will be. Some of his misses are very costly and should be easily executed by an NFL QB.

    The Hope:

    1. Somehow, somebody rips into the softness of this team and somehow they get tough. Kyle William might be a good guy to do it. I think there is talent on this team and if guys play hard and tough, I think the results would be a lot different.

    2. The defense keeps the Bills in games and this allows Fitz to be a game manager. Occasionally, he shows flashes of early 2011 to get us back in games.

I really think these are the two biggest problems. The toughness might be fixable. The QB thing has to be addressed in the offseason. Until then, hopefully Fitz can at least be average and consistent.

    in order...

    1-defense

    2-offense

  8. lol, i can't believe people actually do this. How big of a loser do you have to be to actually go on twitter and insult an athlete because they didn't get enough points for you in a FANTASY league?

However, i guess there is a need for people at this intelligence level, or else there would be no one to hand me my coffee out the Tim Hortons drive through window....

  9. everyone that is so smug, saying things like "oh is it fitz's fault were allowing 8.1 ypc?"

    well, yes, it is.

we go 3 and out or throw a pick every time were on the f*cking field, offensively.

fitz cant hit anyone, ANYONE, if they have a defender within 5 yards of them.

we would have lost that game if we only allowed a touch down.

what is the defense supposed to do?

    force a turnover every possesion?

limit the opposing team to 0 points?

how come every succesful team in the nfl wins with a good qb, but the bills have to place the blame on everyone else.

go watch a giants game, watch manning throw the ball, then come back here and try to blame our shortcomings on our defense.

good teams win with balance. However, they never win when they allow 500 yards per game and 40-50 points. With Brady, Manning(s), Brees all on our team at the same time, throwing to 4 Larry Fitzgeralds... we still get blown out today. FACT
