  1. Just curious, does anyone think that Poz is an upgrade over Fletcher or Spikes? I don't.

As to the issue of OL, Poz doesn't need to stand there and be a stationary target. If he had better anticipation he could blow up a play before the OL makes it to the second level.

He's a great guy and a solid person. That doesn't mean I want him as my middle LB.

Ask yourself this, how often does Poz make a play that changes a game? I can't remember the last big play he made not to mention the last time he blew up a play in the backfield.

    Couldn't agree with you more.

  2. Just to throw in another view point. Poz has been playing well. Yesterday was not one of his better games, but if you were looking at replays and singling him out on live action plays, you should have also noticed he drew a lot of attention from the Steelers' lineman, etc. This says more about the weakness of our OLB's. and DL that are supposed to help keep them off the LB's, and actually gives Poz credit as being the guy they wanted to focus on. Hate to invoke some rational thought here during a rip fest. We do agree it wasn't one of his better games though.

    I'm just saying......

Did you see his coverage on the running back during a key 3rd and short? He is a liability more than a playmaker. His instincts are questionable also, can't recall when I saw him react versus immediately engaging in his block (which he can't get out of). Linebacking decisions have made this defensive line look even worse.

  3. First of all since i was there today, and even though we lost, i enjoyed my first ever bills game. It was a great game, but the bills unfortunately lost at the end. To tell you the truth, the crowd in TO was pretty good today. It was almost sold out, i would say about 46-4700 were there today, but WAYY to many bears fans.

    ?

About the team, this is the first time in a long time where i think we are truly headed in the right direction. Yes, we're 0-8, but could be 4-4 just as easily. This is the best offense we've had in years. I believe if we give Fitz a whole offseason to develop, and have many reps with the starters in Training Camp, he will turn some of his late game INTS into W'S for us. Hes doing this w/o much of a line. And what about Stevie Johnson? 10 catches for 150. Hes really coming around, along with Roscoe.

As for the defense, we have been playing better the last couple games, but this is the main concern with this team. If Merriman can play like his old self again, and we pick up a few Front 7 personall via draft or free agency, we can suddenly become a playoff contendor.

Dont tell me this team isnt better than last year. I dont give a squat what their record is. If this years team had last years schedule, i think we have 4-5 wins. Remember, our division is one of the toughest in the league, and we got the 3rd toughest schedule. But WE ARE COMPETING! Thats what you want in a rebuilding year. This team will only get better from here. In fact, i think we've already seen an improvment since week 1. Thats what this seasons about. With a few more good draft picks and free agent signings, we could be well on our way to the playoffs. GO BILLS!

I hear yah. One of the things people need to realize also is the defensive schemes and pass rush are appalling. The 2 man rush on 3 & 10 giving cutler like 7 seconds. Really? Dropping KW into coverage?

Offense is miles ahead and is encouraging. Defense, ESP coordinator/playcalling is questionable. It's the equivalent of a Trent Edwards on offense.

  4. Offensive play calling all 2nd half was quite good, including OT. This coach knows offense... This is a useless point IMO OP... Sorry

Actually the OP is spot on, no reason to pass ball when chiefs have no time outs. Running ball not only eliminates intentional grounding call but takes off time from clock. 4 times to learn from mistakes, sorry not giving Lindell a chance was putrid. I do love Chan but hated the decisions at end of game. But defense at end was typical. Coverages Edwards calls are assinine.

  5. your problem is you are too used to bad play.

If Poz was any good and had any speed, he should be taking angles to the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage, not 8 yards downfield.

He is slow - but because he is white, he gets a free pass

thank you. My brother and I were discussing this today also while watching the game. Extremely slow, but also does not anticipate anything, he only reacts. I'm begining to wonder if our team is subject to film study at all with the horrible angles and assignments. This is the NFL, it's not enough to just be "out there". Give me some type 2 diabetes gonna die at the age of 33 d lineman and some lbs with instincts and a yearning to shed blockers not engage them and stick to them like some retarded magnet. Such an excellent post, couldn't agree with you more.

  6. Agreed. Living in new England I get to basically enjoy two games every Sunday. Watching the bills and then cheering on whoever is playing the patriots. Watching them lose to the jets was perfect. It's aggregating but funny at the same time having to listen to the younger fanbase in new England discount every time and label automatic wins week to week, apparently having grown up in the back to back superbowl makes you that way. I'm waiting in the weeds however and as their dynasty begins to crumble.

  7. You want the offensive game plan to ignore the QB's role?

and what role is that exactly? Qbs have different roles on different teams. My definition of role here is the level of what you are asking him to do. Trust me I'm a Trent hater and want a qb who can do those things your elluding to. All I'm saying if it appears they want to go with him ( I'm not gonna B word since They made their decision ) then put the team in the best position. From my perspective, our gameplans didn't suit us on Sunday Inc it came clear Edwards hadn't changed.

  8. Look, I hate Edwards as much as the next bills fan, and living in New England makes it worse. I'm simply stating a different point if view since like I said Im tires of venting and stating obvious points like he should be cut etc. For whatever reason our coaching staff disagrees. To that point, if they want him to play then change the philosophy I all I am saying. Secondly, what is the right way to win? I thought it was playing to your team's stengths? Tom Brady and the Pats being what they are is a function of them playing to their strengths, something the "deflated titties neath my sweatshirt" coach of theirs has continuously recognized. To suggest there's one absolute formula for winnig with a team and a qb doesn't really hold true since the QBs who are successful in my opinion are put in positions that play to their strengths.

Did I talk to myself like a wierd homeless man as I watched the bill play on Sunday? Yes, muttering the same phrases about him and his thought process for checkig down and looking forward to ABC family with his sis later on? Yes. I'm just soul searching, trying to find solutions and ways to make myself think positive. As a die hard fan, just pissing and moaning doesn't do it or me.

  9. Can't say I disagree with Kelly's assesment. To be Frank, the coaching staff needs to be focusing gameplans that avoid relying on Edwards to make big plays when the defense recognizes the same, i.e. marching down field with 20 or so seconds left. Should an NFL qb be able to do this, should it be a fair expectation? Yes. However this is Trent. He shouldn't be in future plans for this organization but regardless any game he starts this season should have a Gameplan where his involvment is realistic and achievable. To that degree the responsibility needs to be lessened and shotgun plays decreased. Whomever posted we should have played more prosets is spot on, Edwards needs to be under center with decisions identified ahead of time, 1st read, 2nd read, throw away or step up in pocket/scramble. He's not an intuitive player, so don't force or look for intuitive type of play(s) from him, we have all learned it's simply not possible with him. So to Chan, if J.Bryd said he wanted to play cb, you wouldn't allow it since he's better served as a saftey. Sure he could line up as cb and we could expect him to play like Revis, but would it happen? Not likely. So why expect or ask the same of Trent? It doesn't make sense and hopefully Gailey sees what he really has now with Edwards and rethinks his gameplans moving forward.

Have at it cave trolls, but I feel like I am past the point of venting, quite honestly just trying to cling to some hope in Gaileys judgement of the abomination that was Trent "Teddy Ruxpin" Edwards on Sunday.
