  1. This guy is a clown who is grading teams based on how closely they did what HE thought they should do.  Look no further than his review of the Jets.  While he kills the bills for giving up 2 2nd round picks to move up 5 spots, the Jets get an "A-" for giving up 3 2nd round picks to move up 3 spots (and he specifically cites this trade as being great and a reason for the high trade).  The difference?  They got Sam Darnold and his flock of seagulls haircut, whom HE had decided was the number 1 QB in the draft.

  2.

The Pats have won every game this season with the average score being 35-18.

    We're a squeak ahead of .500.

You mention Rex's ability to game plan Brady. What about Belichick's ability to game plan the Bills?

I really, really hope we beat the Pats. But I don't see anything in the matchup that says we do.

Belicheat is great, no argument from me. They are the best team in the NFL this year. But, no team is invincible. Their offensive line is really banged up. Their RBs too (not that that is as important). Brady, while awesome, is 38, and anyone who is 38, even Brady, is going to start slowing down after so many games in a row (remember their bye was week 4, so Bills game will be his 7th straight game out there).

Belicheat is the best at game planning for everyone, so for sure he will have a great plan. But I think the Bills will want it more. And I think eventually a team winning all the time gets a bit complacent (I know, they went undefeated just 8 years ago, but that is only time in 40 years).

  3. You guys may think I'm crazy, but I really do think the Bills beat the Pats next week. Ryan has shown the ability throughout his career to brilliantly game plan against Brady after seeing him once. I think the Bills are going to be as amped for this game as they will be for any all year, not just because its the hated pats but because of the loss in week 2. Remember how good we looked in that second half of the first game too, and we all know its not like Brady or Belicheat took their feet off the gas.

The flip side to this is I think they lose the next week to a mediocre Chiefs team as a sort of "let down" game after being so amped for the Pats.

I think we get Dallas at home (Romo in December outdoors at the Ralph does not scare me). But I wouldn't be surprised to see a loss to the Deadskins the week before (last road game of this huge 5 of 6 road swing, out of conference opponent, and Skins not as bad as some think).

I think we get the Texans and Eagles (no team in the NFL more overrated than the Eagles; look for Miami to beat them tomorrow) for sure. That puts the Bills at 9-6 heading into the final game of the year against the Jests at home. Winner may very well be going to the playoffs. I don't know what will happen in that game. I want to believe we win.

  4. Can you repost in this thread after the starter is announced please?

Lol, you, like most of the media, are desperate to make up some sort of excuse for why EJ started in the 3rd preseason game other than he is going to be the game 1 starter. Its hilarious what I have read by paid media members this week. As Ockham would say, let's pick the solution that doesn't involve applying layer after layer of assumption to arrive at it, shall we?

  5. More smoke. It's gonna be EJ guys, get used to it.

It's just so funny to me. If you look at it objectively in terms of who started when, and forget everything you read, what makes sense? The guy who starts the 3rd preseason game is your week 1 starter. That statement is true probably 99% of the time (barring injury to said preseason game 3 starter). EJ will be starting against the Colts.

  6. I know we have many on this board with GEDs in law. Can anyone tell me if a confidentiality agreement/NDA covers criminal behavior? As in, if anything truly illegal happened to any of the women who chose to attend the party, would they have no recourse because of the confidentiality agreement?

Right, that's what makes it comical. You can't sign away your rights to the criminal justice system should a crime happen to you. It is similar to how, when you go to a ski resort, you sign something that removes the ski area from liability should you be injured. While you can sign away your right to sue for your injury that occurs in the normal course of skiing (you fall on a slope and bump your head), you can not sign away your right to sue the ski area should their negligence have caused the injury (like, if you hit a snow gun that wasn't put away correctly).

So the confidentiality agreement, to any rational person, is these girls signing away their rights to tell other people what consensual activities they may partake in or see there (e.g., sex acts). So it is still bad that McCoy is asking women to sign this (and he knows it, alluding to how this "...wasn't a weird orgy..."), but to say that its because he or his posse are going to assault women is absurd.

  7.

The article is titled "McCoy not getting it right now", which itself comes with the implication that, as a man, Jerry Sullivan has a high ethical standard with which McCoy, (whom he reminds the reader in the second sentence of his article is "a man they call Shady"), needs to abide by.

Even though McCoy may outwardly act as a good person, (throwing a football into the stands for the fans, hugging the owner, and conducting a cheery press conference), and even though he admitted that he acted in error to present his party in such a light, and even though McCoy clarified the issue by admitting it was one of his group of friends that made the post... Jerry Sullivan still would choose to judge another man, with the implication being that, he, Jerry Sullivan, is qualified to pass judgement on this case, and McCoy is a "bad person", and Jerry Sullivan has declared this to be so, so McCoy must make amends not with a higher power, but with Jerry Sullivan himself.

The fact that a man is so willing to judge another, despite the object of his judgement apologizing for his actions and taking steps to lead a good life in Buffalo, flies in the face of thousands of years of moral conduct codes that human beings have generally agreed to follow with regards to how we treat one another. The fact that the mere mention of Jerry Sullivan's name brings up pages upon pages of people complaining about his character and the way he treats others, should serve as a notice to Jerry that he is living out of balance. He is too harshly judging young men who play a game for a living, and bring much joy to the people who watch them compete.

Jerry Sullivan needs far more spiritual guidance than any of the athletes he judges.

Great post. Sullivan took facts and twisted them, which is not his, nor any other reporters, job. My favorite is he suggests the confidentiality agreement was to stop the women from reporting it if one got punched in the face. Did anyone else in the world think that? I bet he didn't even think that, he just wanted to use as much hyperbole as he could to drum up attention for his half-baked, judgmental article.

  8. The X-factor that is not being considered is what the cap will be next year. I believe they are projecting it will go up like over $10,000,000 from 2015 to 2016, which of course makes signing these players substantially easier. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-analysis-all-22/2015/3/19/8254541/buffalo-bills-2016-salary-cap-space-projection. As this article points out, of course, the Bills still will have a situation, but redoing the percy and clay deals will add around another 15 mill, plus the 8 mil projected here, and you are looking at 23 mil not including anything that can be done with Mario.

Besides, look at what the Saints have done; it doesn't matter how little cap space you have, you can just sign everyone to back-loaded deals and just assume the cap will keep going up to bail you out.

I will say this right now, there is absolutely no chance Dareus walks. None. Unless he doesn't want to stay of course, but all signs show him wanting to remain in Buffalo. You have to wonder how much of that is the Rex Effect.

  9. Geez, you all are killing it with these deals. Called today, first lady gave me nothing, asked to be transferred to retention, but was transferred to account services. She offered me $10 off for 6 months. Asked to be transferred to retention and was this time, but the retention lady gave me nothing, even telling me that the $60 off the first lady offered me was in error!!!

I'm gonna try again in a few days. I feel like so much of it is who you get and what kind of mood they are in that day.

  10.

Fair enough if you were talking about not betting at Caesar's in generality but that was not apparent from your initial post, it read like you were linking the Bills' odds with your statement not to bet futures at Caesar's. As for the first bit, yes, I know all that. Believe me I know how the bookmaker business works.

However, even with Caesar's high holds the Bills are not in to 7/1 4th favourite in the AFC without them taking money on it.

Hearing more about your knowledge of the bookmaker business sounds about 1000 times more interesting than yet another thread on Manual.

Either he will be good or he won't. The Bills have a coaching staff they pay millions to put him in a situation to succeed, and hopefully he will as it would be great for the team and organization if he does. I almost feel like people want to talk about him non-stop just so they can point back to some earlier posts and say "Look, I told you so in x thread on x day!!!" in case he does whatever it is they think he will do (good or bad).

  11.

Precisely. I tried to explain this to #34Billsfan in another thread and he wasn't getting it. When you run a book you follow the money. If the Bills are 7/1 it probably means that Caesar's have taken a handful of very big bets on them at bigger odds. They don't really want any more people backing them because their liability on their book is already too big on the Bills so they price them in such a way that people will go elsewhere.

Ha, I think Mr. Weo is joking, but you are serious. In case you are serious, casinos in Vegas have different hold percentages on futures bets, with Caesars having one of the highest across all sports (high hold = bad for bettor). Take a look here:

    http://www.bettingtalk.com/hold-percentages/

So that is why I said don't bet futures at Caesars at all, not don't bet on the Bills at Caesars.

  12. Public Service Announcement to anyone going to Vegas and wants to place a Bills to win AFC Championship bet:

THESE ARE HORRIBLE ODDS! NEVER BET FUTURES AT CESAERS!

Sorry for caps, but seriously, go to any other casino and you will get better odds. Just checked a couple of places, seeing Bills at 12 and 14 to 1 instead of 7.

Also at other places I am seeing Ravens, Dolphins and Steelers ahead of Bills odds-wise, so there is definitely not agreement in Vegas that Bills are 4th most likely team to win AFC.
