It’s really disappointing (to me) what a horrible human being we’re finding out that Favre is.

Through his entire run with Green Bay, Favre was my favorite player in the NFL.

From that point, he’s really put himself on display as an absolute piece of sh!t.

Careful, Mr. Favre seems quite litigious.

  3. and his poor preparation, work ethic, and sloppy coaching. Usually I am an advocate of giving coaches time but It appeared it was only going to get worse.

I've been following the Bills since the 60s and never been as disappointed as I was during the wrecks era. I have seen some pretty sucky games and even entire seasons, but somehow having that idiot on the sidelines waste such a talented team really made me consider doing something else with my Sundays.

  4. It's false reporting when people report that it definitevely will hit the Carolina's as a category 5, and there ARE places that are doing that...yeah, they have plenty of potential storm tracks, all of them different at this point.

I find it ironic these are the places that laugh at us when we get a few feet of snow, but then get buried by hurricanes that are far worse than what we deal with...

I spent 5 years living in South Florida and sat barricaded in my house through Wilma and Katrina.

When Katrina started ripping the steel storm panels off our house in Pompano beach I thought we were goners. Never had that feeling in a blizzard, and we've had some doozies here.

I will gladly face a blizzard each and every year before going through that again.

  5. Ugh. Didn't see it. The film thread? Didn't get too far into it. The pro/anti Tyrod squads tend to get out of control pretty quickly making those tough to read past 10-12 pages. My banned list is rediculous from those types of posts.

I just wanted to comment on his nice tackle. If Gilmore could tackle like that he would still be here.

For the record I am pro TT, but need to see a big step up this season to stay on board. Not a huge cieling at this point, but if he can start hitting some throws with some anticipation, I feel he could get us pretty far if the defense steps up.

  6.

I apologize in advance for yet another TT thread

Just wanted to remark on Tyrod's nice tackle on his second interception. Guys calling the game did not mention it, neither has the sports media.

He actually showed nice form shedding a blocker and moving in to make the tackle on Darby. Nice wrap 'em up arm tackle with a little twist at the end to bring him off his feet.

You can question the wisdom of your starting QB getting into it like this in a preseason game, but personally I love the scrappiness. Turnover might have been on him, but he wasn't about to give up on the play.

  7.

If his pocket doesn't break down, I have little doubt that Tyrod will execute the timing passes just fine. The rust will wear off with more and more reps with these new receivers. Tyrod is a much better passer than he is given credit for. I don't think he makes after snap progressions quickly - but I don't think he will be asked to do that. He can throw a quick slant with precision as well as any starter not named Brady.

And if for some reason he can't and fails at the timing passes well then....only an idiot coach would force a guy to keep trying to do something he has proven he can't do.

A smart coach who wants to win would move away from those plays and run plays that he has full confidence in the QB executing - Or he replaces that QB - But that is assuming the replacement QB actually does execute those plays at a higher level than the guy he is replacing. And I question that.

  8. Hey!

I rarely post here, usually just lurking looking for informed football opinions. There are way more knowledgable folks here than at the Buffalo snooze (some anyway). Many thanks to guys like KJ, Yolo and Gunner Bill, etc.

My wife recently won a trip to KCmo through work and the only thing I know about KC is that it is known for BBQ and Blues. We will be traveling from Hopkinsville, KY on August 21st (for the eclipse) and be in KC for a few days.

I'm looking for suggestions regarding both, If it's possible to hit one outstanding venue that will fill both bills even better.

    R.

  9. Yeah, but it even says the Jets just lowered prices on 12,000 seats. When the Bills lowered The Rockpile seats, those were gone instantly it seemed.

I have always been and will continue to be, I'm sure, all about being at the game. The communal feel is what you're there for. You'll probably never get the same knowledge of what is happening on every play like you do on TV, but I'm OK with that.

I do like that ideas of wireless wifi (right now I can't get crap at the stadium) and apps that show replays and all that........Just Jack mentioned that Replay thing on the other thread. I have one, but I've never brought it - I'm not going to lug that around. Being able to see things on your phone will make it easy.

In theory yes, but very few cellphones are bright enough to see video in the bright sunshine.

  10. The Dolphins by a mile. Had to live in South Florida for about 6 years to run my tax business when my partner passed away. Everyone knew I was from Buffalo and I had to hear crap from clients constantly that just wanted to talk ****. Most were only casual fans at best but still couldn't resist reminding me how much the bills sucked, even if the phins had their own problems. God I hated Florida.

  11. ,

First line in his post........I bet with the new and maybe even the old TV deals the NFL loses money when the games are blacked

    Wow my bad,

I keyed on the part where he says the networks could sue the NFL, and apparently breezed the rest.

No more pre-caffeine posts for me. Doh!

  12. Ok, but the point I am making to the OP is that the NFL gets billions of dollars from TV and they are not losing any money from games being blacked out. How could they?

You are missing the OPs point. He is not saying the NFL is losing money, he is saying the network and it's advertisers are losing money for a product they paid for but are denied because of blackout rules. The thing is, networks had to have agreed to this. There is no way that that Multi-billion dollar contract does not have language specifically addressing blackouts.

This being said, blackouts still suck and make little sense in today's NFL.

  13. "What is the bigger move? What could the people of Western New York do to make a national statement that the Bills are our team, the NFL our birthright, and that we are serious about being a real player at a poker table many think has reached a level too steep for our wallet?

Eschewing the stadium renovations in favor of building a state-of-the-art domed stadium would be the first shot across the bow that I'd fire to serve that notice nationally. Putting that stadium in downtown Niagara Falls would be the second."

Would you support a plan to build a new dome in place of shelling out $100 million to update the Ralph?

Absolutely not. No dome in WNY.

A DOME FOR THE BILLS IN NIAGARA FALLS COULD KEEP TEAM HERE, REVITALIZE CITY
