  1. I have two thoughts on this game: By the 4th quarter it felt like a preseason game where our JV team was playing against Miami's starters. And lost by two points. Any other team with 60-70% of their starters out would have been roasted, but our JV showed a lot of heart in keeping it close.

Which brings me to my second point. I don't know if many of you are old enough to remember the Epic in Miami game (vs SD), but this game brought those memories rushing back. In all of these years, I haven't seen a game that compared until today. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

  2. Hold on, guys...OP may be on to something here. You know how kickers hate frozen footballs, right? In addition to holding for that kick during sub-zero temps in the AFC championship game, Haack could keep the balls warm by sticking them down his pants until they're ready for the field goal attempt. Then we're actually saving money because we get a designated holder AND ball warmer for $650k.

not sure what that has to do with it.  if Knox was just a blocking TE and someone said he's going to come in and catch a bunch of TD's i would say no he's just a blocking TE.  Cook is just a receiving change of pace RB, he's not a starter

he had over 1000 yards of production last year (728/284) as a “not starter” in a “running back by committee” GA program. Who gives a crap

if he doesn’t start? None of our current backups could come close to that.

Your post stated that they neglected the TE for years.  Signing 4 TE's last year isn't neglected. Knox looked like a rookie because he was a rookie.  Yes he had drops, but also made plays some that very others have the skill set to make.  And yes is too early to tell, but if you sign another TE to take over as the #1, then you'll never know what Knox can do.

Agree on Knox.  Just now I was rewatching the first Miami game from last season where he made one of those drops -- turning to find the defender before securing the ball.  That's concentration/focus, not lack of skills.  I think he'll be just fine.

Thanks! Only three since 1992, that’s sad.

And how many Bills TE’s over the past 20 years have averaged those numbers compared to the rest of the league?

Hell, we barely have receivers reach that mark.  Difficult when 95% of your drives go Run-Run-Pass-Punt.

I know it isn't really 95%, but sure feels like it sometimes.
