  1. I was surprised when the Bills recently added Torbor to the roster... and then moved him to ROLB. Then, with him getting first team reps in mini camp, it spoke volumes... at least to me.

This may or may not be a clear signal that Maybin may not cut it.

If so, I can't think of a bigger bust that the Bills have drafted in the first round than him. Erik Flowers and John McCargo would be close seconds. The Bills did get some production out of the likes of Patulski, Harmon, Gant, Hunter, Miller, Bell, and Losman. But, I can't remember any of the Bills being drafted as high as #11 and getting virtually nothing, in terms of production. At #8, Whitner certainly hasn't shown he was deserving of that, but he has given the Bills moderate production.

I disagree with the 2 RB's, Terry Miller had a very respectable rookie year: gained over 1,000 yards and averaged 4.5 yards per carry.. Not sure what happened to him after that but he was out of football a few years later.. Greg Bell is another 1,000 yard RB.. But do you remember former #1's John Pitts S out of AZ state, Al Cowlings USC DE, Phil Dokes Oklahoma DE 1977 (maybe the worst draft year in team history).. Tom Cousineau LB Ohio State.. The Bills have done a miserable job drafting at the top, you can go on and on with just the number #1's

  2. LT David Diehl doesn't want to relinquish his position and the Giants are considering moving him to RT or even to the G position. He signed a 6 year/$31 million contract in 2008 and that would be hefty salary for a G. If I'm not mistaken the Giants are hurting at the S position and trading Whitner might not be a far fetched scenario if the Bills are not confident in their current players at the T position. This is pure speculation but I believe a reasonable possibility.

I have watched David Diehl play since day one with the Giants.. There are times he is a total monster, runs over people or pancakes them while pass blocking... Then there is the other David Diehl who takes plays off and is beaten by defenders that have no buisness beating him.. His upside has no ceiling but his price tag is much too high for the guy who takes so many plays off...

  5. I remember sort of a Bills "curse". Don Smith to Miami. Nate Odomes to Seattle. Didn't Will Wolford get hurt when he went to Indy?

Edited to add Howard Ballard to Seattle, too.

    Discuss.

Marlin Brisco and Jim Dunaway both won a couple of Super Bowl rings with Miami.. Bobby Chandler did the same with the Raiders... Didn't Will Wolford win one with the Steelers?.. I'm sure there are more who won championships after leaving Buffalo..

  6. I just like many of you on this board was hoping against hope than we would get Cowher as HC. But the more I listen to Gailey the more I like the guy. Just a gut feeling because we haven't played any games yet but I feel that maybe we got a guy that knows what he is doing on offense.

When Buddy hired him I was like oh hell no.... but after watching his pressers on the Bills website he seems like in complete control...never did I get this feeling when Jauron was in town. Seems like Jauron was happy to play not to lose, while Chan is more old school in his ways about football which is refreshing.

Very interested in seeing what training camp is going to be like this year. That will tell volumes to me. If they actually have a REAL training camp for once I will start to believe we are going in the right direction.

I don't think this team is going to be as bad as people think. Chan is an upgrade on the offensive side coaching wise and we have lots of talent on D in the secondary. If DC Edwards can find a way to stop the run with the players we have a chance to be decent. Maybe not playoffs this year but they go 7-9 or 8-8 and show improvement as the season wears on I could live with that.

    GO BILLS

What else can we do but hope Chan is the answer?

  7. From PFT:

Funny stuff for those of us who've been seduced by the very same thing in the past.

How many Top Notch head coaches and offensive coordinators did he actually play for? With all the changes he went through and all the different O-Line combinations, he is lucky he can still walk, let alone play football.. I hope JP dominates under Pete Carroll..

  8. Bathrooms at old Cleveland Municipal stadium...

I'm with you on that one.. For 30 years I don't think they made a single repair to that place.. a typical bathroom consisted of 1 toilet and a long trough that was called a urinal... Stairs that were crumbling.. Terrible sight lines for both baseball and football... I was told that when the stadium was built in the 1920's it was supposed to be an attractive venue for the Olympics... It wasn't attractive for anything, anytime, ever!!

As for how fans conduct themselves and how visiting/home fans are treated.. When I go to another city, I don't dress up like a kid at Halloween, paint my face, drink so much alcohol that I can't control myself... I don't taunt or swear and yell offensive things to others.. When visiting another town I might even buy a ball cap from the city that I'm visiting and wear it while at the game.. I no desire or need to invite idiots to pelt me with objects or instigate a fight...

  9. Just wanted to know if anyone could give me information if I were to visit from out of town for a game. I've been a Bills fan all my life and never been to a game (shameful, I know) and I want to finally go to one this year. Do you have any informaiton on hotels, tailgating, or just simply what to do in the area for the weekend? It doens't sound like there's much to do but I figure you all would know best. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Ever hear of Niagara Falls? You should check it out!!

  10. Im not asking who the greatest quarterback was......not the greatest reader of defenses......im just talkin BEST ARM.

Who had the prettiest deep ball, fluidity of motion, zip on the ball.......say he had perfect protection.

Who had the most talent in purely delivering the ball downfield?

    [/quot

In my life the following people have all been accused of having "Strong Arms"... Jack Kemp, Daryle Lamonica, James Harris, Dennis Shaw, Joe Fergerson, Jim Kelly, Rob Johnson, Drew Bledsoe and JP Losman... I've seen each one of these guys throw deep and look damn good doing it.. I'm not saying any of them were great quarterbacks (that wasn't what the question was about)... But how do you say one had a batter arm than the other?.. It's not like you can line them up and and have them compete... I guess it's just something to talk about and it brought back some fond memories...

  11. Actually Walt Corey was a very good coordinator. The problem was that he asked a guy that was similar to John Randle to play like Ted Washington. I think Jeff Wright was a lot more talented than big mouth Smerlas, but they had a completely different skill set. To this day, Wright's immense talent is unappreciated, as he passed under the radar, playing out of position.

If we had a Ted Washington back then, we would have won at least 3 superbowls and maybe gone to more than 4

Jeff Wright might have been an awesome left defensive end... Leon Seals was a back up at best...

  12. I have Googled, I have Binged. I have looked on ESPN, CBS, FOXSports, BuffaloBills.com, Yahoo Sports and I can't find a recent update on Eric Wood.

I'm not a doctor but when someone's leg turns into silly putty before everyone's eyes that looks like more than a year type injury. '

Not just the bones but all the ligaments had to get damaged, then they have to be rebuilt, then they have to be strengthened to support over 300 pounds of dude that pushes back another 300 pound dude.

So again I'm not a doctor but I'm not feeling optimistic that he'll be there for training camp.

Does anyone have any updates, and if you do can you add the links (if thats allowed.)

I was involved in a motorcycle accident in 2008 and broke my tibia in 3 places and fibula in 2... 7 months later I was walking in pain with a severe limp, minus crutches... I have a rod in my leg from knee to my ankle and walk just fine now.. I did not have a team of trainers to help with my recovery and I am not 23 years old.. However I am 6'-2" and 320 lbs and NO way am I able to move like I did before or run without pain.. I hope that Eric Wood can recover totally from his mishap but I sincerely doubt he will by the start of the regular season... I was also told by my surgeon to give up motorcycles because the usual treatment for a second break of the tibia is amputation...
