  1. More than likely it's a meet and greet. It's states that Davis will meet the media, not the Bills. If there had been a signing they would have announced that the Bills have a Press Conference, not just Davis meeting with the media. He'll tell us he had a great visit, respects the coaching staff, and we have a class organization. He'll tell us he has a few more teams lined up before making a decision, and then he will leave to sign with another team in a few days. I'm hoping this doesn't happen, but seems likely

normally, i'd agree with you, but i've seen a bunch of stories like this-

-that assume barring a failed physical, buddy will git 'er done

  2. Normally teams have 3 cornerstones to build a franchise on. QB, LT, RDE. Well if you run a 3-4 that changes. It needs to be QB, LT and NT because NT is much more important than DE in a 3-4.

If that draft scenario goes down, we have our 3 franchise cornerstones on this roster for a long time. Now fill in around them and lets win some football games.

agreed! and if mckelvin pans out we'll have a shutdown corner, arguably the "4th cornerstone"

    (not holdin my breath tho)

  3. why is everyone so concerned with rw's money? He's got plenty and much of it from the long suffering bills fans. I don't think he'll get any prize for dying with a few million more. From him it's expected but why do fans like you care, especially in an uncapped season?

who would fans like you have signed so far?

i like getting season tix for under $300 and being a part of a sell-out crowd

besides throwin money around seems to have worked well for dan snyder :)

    and this guy:

  4. so how are cleveland and detroit doing it. maybe the players think more of holmgren than chan or buddy but I'll bet it's primarily the money their offered.

it probably is the $, but im not particularly impressed with either of those team's moves.

there a lot of free agency left, and I bet we make a lot more moves after the draft.

we don't need to hurry up and sign/trade for overpriced so-so older players that will create new holes in a couple years.

i'm confident the FO has a plan - too bad it doesn't include trading for Shaun Hill :)

  5. i'm not sure why you think we are "sitting on our hands doing nothing." we may be, but news flash- buffalo (bills-wise) is not an attractive destination, so its not like FAs/agents and calling off the hook trying to get here

based no how many players we've been scouting for the upcoming draft, i have to assume we are at least pursuing some of these free agents as well, and i'm sorry if PFT or however you get your news doesn't report that "so-and-so declined to meet with the bills bc there's no chance he would sign there."

I'm not sold on Tredwards but delhomme is done and i doubt quinn is the answer

    and LT...please

  6. Gailey is basically the offensive coordinator, so he is going to start by fixing the offense.

This defense is going to struggle big time next year. This defense will get little help in the draft because Gailey will concentrate on building an offense. I will go out on a limb and say that our first two picks will be offensive players.

who needs defense when chan the man is orchestrating an offense putting up 40 pts every week?

assuming we get an lt, wr, qb, etc...

  7. i know we've got all these holes, but considering the potential impact of a bona fide nfl qb, i don't see any harm in picking a qb this year. just because we draft one this year doesn't mean we can't draft one next year.

i agree we should focus on the lines primarily, but i think if there's a qb we like that isn't too much of a reach- grab him.

for the most part, drafting a lineman can be as much as a crapshoot as drafting a qb

  8. "Jake's Flakes" sounds good to me.

    sounds like dandruff to me.

of all the stop-gap qbs out there, he's got to be the worst.

imo even if we are targeting a "stop-gap" qb, it has to be someone who at least has the potential to become a long-term starter. i'm liking troy smith more and more if we don't draft someone this year

  9. here's the reason this whole scenario will not happen-

if Berry's good enough for us to take him regardless of our other needs, and based on him being best player avail, then why wouldn't any of the other 8 teams pick him? Especially Clevland.

Which sounds better: starting safties Berry and Bryd and staying pat with our front 7 on defense or starting safties Bryd and Wilson and either starting ILB McClain or possible starting NT Dan Williams?

as a new poster i hope i'm not overextending my self in saying... case closed...RIP thread

  10. I'd be pretty happy with this, tho I think it's unlikely we get Thigpen. Ditto for Mike Williams. I would like to see Troy Smith and a rookie battle it out for QB. and I think we can/shld wait on WR with some decent options. I like what I've seen from Johnson in his limited playing time and Hardy has a lot of upside still. I do really want Mike Williams but I think we need to draft for depth in the trenches.

    1st post- boo yeah!
