I would still expect the Bills to add the following positions via free agency:

    - Veteran RB to replace Frank Gore

    - Swing Tackle to provide insurance behind Cody Ford

    - Cornerback with both outside and inside versatility

    - Safety depth

And Bills fans, that pretty much encompasses the remaining needs we have across the roster.  Take care of those spots, and the Bills are free to go BPA at pretty much every slot in the draft.  It's a beautiful thing.

good list, seen conflicting reports on waddle, has been brought back or not? he would obviously address the swing tackle need and would be very affordable coming off the injury. marlowe is the default at safety, again very affordable and clearly knows the system. RB depth in the FA pool is questionable, they probably want a vet in the room but is that just yeldon and they add another body in the draft?

only other one i'd add to the list is a size WR - clearly they have upgrade immensely at WR with the addition of diggs as a true #1 but that doesn't bring in the redzone size threat i think is still needed, be it free agency or draft. would love to see demarcus robinson get a look, untapped potential there but he might want to go somewhere with more opportunity with the top 3 depth chart spots locked up in BUF.

Don't think they can if they wanted to.  They have to extend White, Dawkins, Milano, eventually extend Edmunds and Allen too; the thing no one mentions is that Diggs will eventually get a raise sooner than later if he plays like himself.  Paying him what he's due to make won't fly.

On diggs, new cba makes it much more difficult for players to hold out if they are on their second contract or beyond. Fines cannot be waived and season will not accrue towards FA. Going to see much less of that type of behaviour going forward.

  3. looks like you've omitted a couple key special team acquisitions in perry and alexander from your projected 53, i think they do make the squad and bump murphy and stanford or lacey from your projected 53 (murphy a shame but doesn't offer much value on ST, stanford and lacey both very replaceable and were part of the reason why the coverage team was so bad last year) .  I also think yarborough will lose his spot to harold at DE and i think demarco will stick around again for his special teams value, bumping the WR group down to a more reasonable 6 (see ya mackenzie, he's been replaced by roberts).  duke is certainly the fav for the 6th WR spot at this point, given they surely want to have someone with size in the grouping.  it would be great if they could squeeze a very late pick or two in the trade market from the inevitable OL dumps (Sirles, Butler, Bodine, Vlad, and McDermott appear to be on the outside looking in and may have some value to outsiders). some like Lafayette Pitts but i agree with you that he misses the cut (didn't show enough as a gunner last year to warrant a spot, they need to get much better there, kevin johnson is good candidate there to help).  injuries happen but shaping up that the late picks will start the year on the practice squad (johnson, johnson, and sweeney) if they get through waivers.

that being said clear to see the improvements year on year across the roster, but would expect nothing less given the dozen and a half free agent signings and another top 10 pick.  doesn't sound like beane will ever be in the comp pick game given the amount of contracts that will be up at the end of year and some of the comments he made at his pressers about how he likes to address the roster needs through free agency.

We know what they think of him

    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/eli-harold-16803/

they think he’s worth 895k with 90k guaranteed.  They think that he can compete with Yarbrough for our 4th DE. If you look at our OL, you’d realize they they aren’t afraid to add more competition to positions that need help.  If you think they they won’t be signing any DE’s because they love Eli Harold, you should think again

I don’t think they love him so no point turning this in to a strawman. I simply think they didn’t sign him just to cut him. Signing free agents just to cut them in camp is not a way good teams run things. If they were to add Ansah it is clear he would have to go.

You realize you’re talking about Eli Harold right?  The same Eli Harold that........I forgot.  The Eli Harold that hasn’t done anything other than being touted out of college

It’s not about what I think of Harold, it’s what the bills think of him, and I don’t think they signed him just to cut him in camp. I appreciate they have the cap flexability to get out of any deal but that surely would be a waste when unspent dollars can just be rolled over. I don’t see a roster spot available for Ansah, barring injury in that group.

According to over the cap we still have 30M in space right now.  We could use another WR, DE and maybe CB.

Not to jump ahead but did we not add a DE because Ziggy is still in play.  We have the cap room.

Who are you binning off to make room for Ansah? Hughes, murphy, shaq, and now harold are your 4. Yarborough is unlikely to make it. Did we sign Harold just to cut him? Nah. I think they moved on from Ansah.

Also think we have our 5 at CB and no one worth a damn out there at WR.

How does a LBer or WR have an actual chance to make the Roster and Safety doesn’t (that is a ST ace).

Guess you you didn’t see the play of Neal or Marlow at times last season.

Like I said earlier, i thought neal showed very well and I also rate Marlowe (who will be facing a roster crunch himself, will they keep 5 safeties?). LB is wide open, Stanford and Lacey stunk and do not belong on the roster, thankfully Joseph will take one of their spots (Edwards, Milano, Alexander, Mo, Jospeh, and ?). 6th WR spot is also an open competition, I’m good with safety before you add another guy to the mix. Maybe they keep 5 backers only and 5/6 safeties, then this starts to make more sense (but not how i expect this to play out, expect him just to be cut and try to stash on PS)

Which means the Bills think Johnson has the best shot at making the team over other graded players at that pick.

Not it hard to see that

Give me another LB or a big WR where their is an actual opportunity to make the roster.

I’ll say this draft does bode well for duke williams, he’ll get comp in UDFA but has to be considered early fav to make roster if they keep 6 (i consider brown, beasley, roberts, and foster locks with zay very closely behind). I thought duke would be on outside looking in post draft but he’s the size guy the don’t have in other 5 and a guy like mckenzie doesnt offer that.

  9. With the oline signings (all 6 of them, including a natural LT in Ty) and the blunt comments on Dawkins regressive ‘18 season (from both himself and the bills) starting to wonder if bills view him as a true 2nd contract guy. Hence knowing the draft chart says making a jump like this in the top 10 is worth a 2nd round value who says no to 9th overall and Dawkins for 5th overall?

why the bills like this - they get Williams or Oliver, the dominant 3T this defense needs and is the one position they didn’t address in FA cause I think they really want a stud here to be their kawaan short and that’s hard to find in FA. In this scenario Ty slots in at LT, Waddle at RT, competition and future year starters added at tackle in later rounds (as early as 2nd), bills keep all picks in this deal of course so keeps open option of trading back up to late first

why the bucs like this - Dawkins would slot in at RT or RG, both weak spots for the bucs now, and put them in position to still land a stud LB (one of the devin’s) they want in the heart of their D

more smoke on the McCoy fire, he is going to leave TB, just a matter of who

the bills have a need at 3T and can afford this salary, given they can then dump him if need be without hit. The cost is a 6th/7th which is a non-factor. Guy would be a plus addition to the locker room and every day he doesn’t come to buffalo confirms their interest in Oliver instead, as only so many spots (star, Harrison, Jordan and hmmmmm)

  11. biggest problem for him last night? get the play and get to the line so you can get your adjustments done! way too many hurried snaps with the play clock running down, didn't have time to get everything set and took at least one delay of game, burned a timeout or two, and i'm sure there were a couple snaps with 0 seconds on the play clock not called. simms even mentioned it at one point. brady is all over this, he gets to the line as early as he can so he can have more time for adjustments once he sees what the defense has given him. taylor needs to pull his finger out and get them set earlier.

  12. Glenn - Mathis - Wood - Incognito - Henderson

    Miller (G) - Urbik (C/G) - Kujo (T)

    Miller inactive on game days.

    Cuts - Williams and Richardson

Doesn't look to bad at all, Bills gotta make a run at the least, although can't say I like there chances. this is where the Harvin money really comes back to bite, not a guy that was needed with the scheme change and would have been much better spent on the OL.
