[Give Trent Edwards a chance]

Due to the fact of Buffalo needing 2 OT's and a 3-4 DT I think QB should not even be a consideration in this years draft. I do believe however we have capable QB's on the roster now in Edwards and Brohm. Edwards needs to come back out of his shell and an offensive minded coach I believe will do wonders. With that said, prior to FA I believe the draft shout go like this: T, DT, T, OLB, FB, OLB, T.

 

I've said it before and here goes again, Demetrius Bell and Jamon Meredith are both wayyyy better T's than captain checkdown is a QB. I'm guessing the original poster is Trent's mom. You're better off preparing the basement for your son's arrival Mrs. Edwards.

 

Anyway, we'll get a LT this offseason and we'd better have a new QB too.

 

you want to see what happens to a team when you get a real QB (as much as I hate to say it) look at the Vikings this year. same O-line, same D, same receivers as the year previous...didn't they lose some big game in OT?

Both Bell and Meredith are better Tackles than Captain Checkdown is a QB...anyone who thinks that if you fix the OL all of a sudden we'll be a playoff team I'm guessing were dropped on their heads as babies.

 

Arguing whether or not Bell should start at LT is a waste of time, Gailey already said that they're going to address the T situation either in FA or the draft. The lineup that's been posted here is not that bad, Levitre played RT in college and Incognito, Wood and Hangartner have all proven to be capable starters. I guess that for some idiot posters a capable line's not good enough because if we had an all-pro line then all of a sudden captain checkdown will become John Elway.

 

We need a QB, we need a LT. If you're comfortable watching some 3rd or 4th round project QB waste another 3 years of our time then that's fine but I'm not. Fix QB, then fix LT.

We need both, nobody should dispute that (except some rhodes scholars on here who are either related to TE or who he's got some incriminating photos of) but given an opportunity to draft a QB of the future or a LT of the future, give me the QB anyday.

 

Anybody who thinks that drafting a LT carries less risk than drafting a QB is drinking the Michael Oher cool aid and forgets that some of the biggest busts in draft history have been LTs. Remember Mike "sure thing" Williams?

 

The Bills have done a terrible job of evalutating first round talent in the last ten years. At this point we can only hope that the decision this staff makes plays more than 3 years in a Bills uniform. But if they make that pick a QB it'll be a hell of a lot easier to turn on the TV in September with a Bills jersey on.

long time reader, haven't posted much but...

 

For all of you who think that it's necessary for the Bills to fix the LT position before fixing the QB situation...I may be missing something, and if you can convince me otherwise go ahead, but can anybody tell me how many winning seasons we had with Jason Peters? how many pro-bowl seasons we got out of our QB with Jason Peters? how many 300 yard passing games we had with Jason Peters?

Why are we still debating over what the reason is that Edwards sux like he does?? Bottom line is he's got no future in Buffalo, I wish him all the best but if I never have to see him check it down to Fred Jackson again it'd be too soon.

 

I'd rather talk about why Brohm became such a bust in GB...at least he's got a future in Buffalo.

This team reminds me of the Rob Johnson era and it makes me want to poke my eyes out. That 3-13 season I couldn't watch and actually started cheering against them...just like I may cheer against them this week. I pay more attention to Sam Bradford's shoulder now than I do to what TE has to say after a game.

 

Football lasts 17 weeks each year (unless you're fortunate enough to cheer for a team that actually makes the playoffs) and when its not football season you follow the free agency, the draft, the minicamps, etc. all just to get excited for the actual games. Now the Bills put this ridiculous product on the field and I can't even cheer for them and that grinds my gears to the nth degree.

 

Please guys, do something to make me care about this team again. I don't want to wait another year to care about football.
