  1. The fact is, Rex Ryan took a defense that was near the top of the league the past two years, returning most of its players and adding a rookie CB who exceeded all expectations. And he ruined it. It's a below-average group that can't stop anyone now. The players can't use their abilities and they're asked to do things they're not good at. And it's December and they still don't say they understand what they're supposed to do.

The offense is much better but than under Hackett, thanks to Roman and not Ryan. So if the only thing saving Ryan's job is fear of starting over, that's not much to go on. Better to pitch Ryan than to pitch all the talent and money invested in the defense, before he gets to work during the offseason getting rid of players like Mario Williams who don't fit his way of doing things. It takes a lot longer to assemble a powerful defense like Pettine and Schwartz used so well, than to bring in a coach who isn't too arrogant and stupid to take advantage of the players he had available.

Can we please stop pretending that this defence won the SB last year? Have we forgotten about the egg that it laid in Oakland in a must win game? This defence has played well at times just like last years did but neither are dominant. This team needs consistency with competent leadership. If you don't think that's Rex then fine but please stop it with the "he's ruined this defence" argument, he hasn't.

  2. Couldn't even finish that article. Wow, is he horrible. I don't think he has much of an understanding of the cap, scheme, and the owner. They appear to be a team willing to spend to the cap so any suggestion by idiots like this that they are in trouble with little cap room left is conjecture and in his case just his Pats-bias. He doesn't know anything about actual football for someone in his position, glaringly under qualified to take any Xs and Ox, just like me, but in my case, read national writers who do, so when compared to others, he woefully lacking. Someone started a thread about his a while back and I read this one only because I wanted to see if he could spin it into a negative, and sure enough that was the tact he explicitly and intentionally took. Stop reading him. I'm basically down to boxscores now! Not much out there worth reading.

Agreed. All I seem to want to do this week is read up on the Bills, it's a pretty exciting offseason, but hodak's blog is absolute horsesh*t. This article reads like a cheatriots fan whining that the Bills got Harvin.

  3. Ran a few scenarios through the playoff machine on ESPN there are some reasonable situations that see us playing NE in a win and we're in scenario:

    Week 15

    W (L)

    PIT (ATL)

    NE (MIA)

    KC (OAK)

    IND (HOU)

    BAL (JAX)

    BUF (GB)

    CIN (CLE)

    DEN (SD)

    Week 16

    W (L)

    MIA (MIN)

    BAL (HOU)

    CLE (CAR)

    KC (PIT)

    NE (NYJ)

    BUF (OAK)

    DEN (CIN)

    IND (DAL)

These outcomes would result in a scenario in week 17 where a KC loss against SD and a BUF win @ NE would get BUF into the playoffs. Let's get this one this weekend!

  4. Sunday is the day the Bills showcase their double super-secret plays they have waiting for the regular season.

Hmmm... So the Bills cannot execute those same 8 vanilla plays they ran all game long for 5 straight pre-season games, but will come out smoking with the new regular season plays. This should be exciting..can't wait!

    Championship!

You sound like you're from Bawstan...go put a Patsies jersey on Go Bills!

  5. Two things:

    1. When you try a long FG like that it's always in the favor of the defending team because there are 5 lineman, a holder and a kicker on the field, that means 7 of the 11 players on the field can't cover. I was surprised they made that try.

    2. Watching that live on TV I couldn't help but think how awesome it would be to be an Auburn fan in the stadium but couldn't be happier for Chris Davis. That play will live on forever and he's the guy that made it happen.

It's good to be a college FB fan today!

    Go Bills!

  6. I'm from PEI originally and I moved to Calgary about 10 years ago. Me and some buds drove from Calgary to PEI a couple of years ago and we decided to drive through the US. We stopped in Buffalo to get some wings at Anchor Bar and as we drove by the exits for the Ralph I couldn't contain myself! Dude Bills Nation isn't just about Buffalo, the Bills are a way of life for a lot of people wayyyy outside Buffalo. The people who get to go to games on the weekends are the lucky ones

  7. Im still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Cordy fell to us.

We got 2 first round picks this year folks.

You're damn right we did! Drafting Cordy Glenn is like drafting a G and T. Talk about depth of OL? I don't care if this guy ever plays LT in the NFL, he's value x100 in my books. Can you imagine if a MAssie or Adams fell to us in the third?

  8. Guys we've got something in the range of 19 D-Lineman, not to mention the investment we've made in the DL (M Williams $100 mil, Dareus $40 mil, K Williams $36 mil) so I doubt we'll see a DL picked in this draft. We've also got 9 WR so unless all of those 4 OLs go in the first 8 picks tomorrow, I wouldn't bet on a WR either.

I doubt Cordy Glenn makes it but I'd be super happy if that's the pick. I'm putting my money on OL tomorrow at 41, Stephen Hill if those 4 guys are gone.

    Go Bills!

  9. I was a HUGE supporter of the Bills trading for McNabb back 2 years ago (keep in mind we were stuck with Captain Checkdown) when Chix first came on board. My thought was if we got McNabb and Joey Porter came on board then two of our biggest needs would have been filled and a 7-9 team could make the leap to get those extra few wins to be a playoff team. Looking back, I'm happy to say how wrong I was. McNabb himself would have set back the Bills by another 10 years. He was clearly on the decline of his career looking back, and now with the comments he's made about WASH it makes me think that he would have come in and been unsuccessful and then he would have blamed it on the system or the coaches or the organization and NO fa's would have wanted to come here forever. We'd be sitting here today debating whether Ryan Tanehill is the best option.

So a big thank you to Donovan McNabb for saying no to Buffalo, he delivered us Super Mario.
