  1. Would you say the mechanics are poor because he had no time to throw the ball with of our non-existent pass protection? I am not saying that Fitz is a great QB. But any NFL QB can throw properly when they have adequate time.

Total agreement Fitz is 2nd string at best . Drew Brees would have looked poor with that line blocking.

  2. Was it just me, or did anyone else think DJ was coaching this game? What happened to the aggressive approach we saw the last 2 weeks. Are we sure Perry isn't on the headset to DJ and his firing was just a big smokescreen?
If the O-line can't block anyone it's hard to be aggressive and no smokescreen Jaron was the worst head coach in bills history..
  3. Marv Levy is a class act and was a pretty good football coach. One can question his choice of a head coach and his talent evaluation, but he has earned all of our respect and deserves to be thanked for trying to fix this team. He took a chance. It didn't work. Move on and have a little self respect.

    Great post!!

  4. Nothing to go one here except instinct, but I think he gets the axe tomorrow. There is enough to question about today's game that has to leave Russ and Ralph feeling hopeless about this team for this year. We haven't heard much publically from Russ or Ralph but let's face it, it's quite obvious to anyone watching this team that they are a mess and at this point Ralph has to be embarrassed. It won't cost him much to elevate April to HC for the rest of the year and it will send a signal to the players that change starts now. I really think it will happen.
When Jaron is fired I won't be happy, I will just be wondering what took so long!!!!
  5. I think Poz sucks. I said it previously and I will continue to say so now. Poz rarely dominates a collision when he is making a tackle. He always kind of holds on, and kind of rides the man to the ground 2-3 yards up the field. The Texans had absolutely gaping holes to run thru up the middle in the second half. That is inexcusable. Poz has a lot of responsibility for that. That is his territory. He does not dominate or impose his will. His game is WEAK!! We can and have to do better at MLB. Poz would be a decent backup where maybe he could learn how to become a good player.

Our linebackers have to be amongst the worst if not the absolute worst group of LB's in the league. LB is a super important position on your defense. They provide a strong sense of toughness. We do NOT have that at all. It makes our team weak. The talent level on this team is just terrible at certain positions-LB, OT, QB, TE and not great at most other positions. Combine that with terrible, uninspiring coaching and leadership, and you have a god awful, boring, crappy team which is painful to watch.

    Great post right on target.

  6. I think the problem with the list is that you have too many rookies from this year's class. Everyone drafted in this past year is most likely going to survive a regime change (or at least all of the top guys - Maybin, Byrd, Wood, and Levitre), so I don't think they're valid players to put on the list. I also don't see how you build anything around a punter or kicker, so though they might stay, you aren't really building anything with them.

Outside of them you have about 11 players that are worth consideration:

    Evans

    Lynch

    Edwards

    Jackson

    McGee

    Poz

    Whitner

    Stroud

    Schobel

    McKelvin

    Williams

    And maybe in a stretch:

    Kelsey

    Reed

Of all of the above 13 players, all the players I'd like to see stay are primarily on defense. I'd bet that Evans and the RBs at least would make it through a regime change however.

The more I look at these types of posts, the more I am starting to realize that I kind of like the defense and would really like it with a little more talent.

Kelsey and Reed are the poster boys of this ten year exile from the playoffs try hard tow the company line get long term deals have 2 or 3 good games a year. Playoffs are a pipe dream with most of this roster.
  7. No way he's kept if there's only 7 wins to show. Ralph does not have endless patience despite what people here say. When has he showed such undying loyalty to a coach? We've had 4 head coaches this decade - he doesn't stick with people through thick or thin, he just gave Jauron one last chance instead of blowing it all up. There is no evidence that he'd give him another chance and little precedence by Ralph to do so.

DJ could'nt motovate a sugar additic on halloween , ready or not 7- 9 here we come..

  8. LB don't make too many tackles for losses unless they blitz. That's a DL statistic. Also, if people were targeting at the "weak link" on our defense, it would be against Schobel and Draft. I don't think that opposing offenses care where they run it as long as it's not at Stroud. We are last in the league in run defense and that's not all Ellison's fault.

I wonder how Ellison would look if Richard Seymour was playing in front of him instead of Chris Kelsay? I think that Ellison is doing remarkably well given his size. He has made a lot of tackles and several big stops. If we could get a bigger LB to play on running downs, Ellison would be a great 3rd down LB... or we could get a more dominating LDE and keep Ellison behind him.

He is a very small problem on this team.

    [/quoten

Did anyone see D.Williams stiffarm pakecake block on Ellison?. any high tackle numbers are unimpressive when your defence is on the field for 80 snaps a game, Ellison is to small and not stong enough and blocked out of more plays than i can count but he's all we have right know so we have to pull for him. D.Talley in this late 40's would be an improvement.

  9. Who cares. It is what it is. The loudest screamer in the NFL isn't the best coach in the NFL. What matters is wins. The Bills don't lose because Jauron doesn't scream on the sidelines. They lose because he's not a good head coach. He doesn't game plan well, he doesn't make adjustments well, and he coaches to stay in the game, not to crush the other team. Period. Whether or not he yells on the sidelines makes no difference in a win and a loss. If he was a winning head coach, he'd be "the coolest headed coach in the league", but he's not, so instead of looking composed on the sidelines, he looks like he's not involved or whatever.

    Great post ,

  10. Well its hard to put it on one player, but you could say that for the Pats game. If Ellison does not play, we would have won that game. And no I am not only talking about the two TD catches, but the other 12-15 catches he allowed. Ellison also missed 3-4 key tackles vrs the Saints which resulted in 50+ yards of rushing for P. Thomas. People wonder why this team cant make the playoffs, its because those same people view Ellison as a good player. Ellison has been the absolute weakest link in this defense so far this season. Get your eyes off the stat sheet and watch the game for once and you will see what I am talking about. Then again maybe you wont...

The stat sheet is very misleading ,agree 100%
