Don't sweat it.   Brain farts happen to the best of us ... I speak from experience!

There's another point I'd like to make here that may be helpful: Spectrum in my area, the Mid-Hudson Valley, has the two ABCs and CBSs, but only the NYC one is in HD when you're using the box. However, Spectrum's streaming app has both WRGB and WTEN in HD.

There's another thread on this topic.  If you are a Spectrum customer and can get programming on ABC, you should be able to see the Bills on MNF since the game is being broadcast on both ESPN and ABC.  If ABC is blacked out, then your ABC station is owned by Disney, so you will have to find a work around to see the game.   The other thread has lots of suggestions.

Well, now I feel stupid. I get two ABCs, one from NYC and one from Albany, and it never occurred to me to check the Albany one, but I did and it's working. Thanks for explaining this!:D

He looks terrible to be honest...like one of the drug addicts you'd see on the corner in a bad neighborhood. Looks like he's 50 and he is only 34.

Said his head feels like mush and concussions had a lot to do with it, and that he would not do it all over again if he had the chance...

Wonder how many players playing now are going to be in the same boat? This can't be good for the NFL and it's long term participation rates.

More content parents are going to read and add to the reasons why little Jimmy will be playing soccer instead of football.

He doesn't look anywhere near as bad as the way you described him.

Great season! I really thought they had a chance to win it all with that defense. I remember watching Charles Romes drop a sure interception that would have won that playoff game against the Chargers...only to then watch Fouts throw a 50 yard pass for a score to win the game.

My wife and I had this old RCA TV. I was so angry at the end of the game that I walked over and tried to turn the TV off by kicking the push button - and only succeeded in shearing all the knobs off the front of the TV. We had to turn the TV on, change the volume, and the channel with a pair of needle nose pliers until we could afford a new TV...

Not one of my finer moments...

This is eerily close to what I did that day; I stomped over to the TV after that score and yanked the stand really hard and tore the coax cable right off of the connector. We got it rigged up well enough that I got to watch the end of that miserable game, and I got called a dumbass several times that night.

  5. I had a complete copy of this game years ago and it was like watching a snuff film. This was one week after the Miracle at the Meadowlands and it SHOWED. The Giants had no interest in even being there, much less competing.

And when you think about it, it was 20% of Miller's season. So when we talk about him not doing much after 1978, we need to remember he didn't accomplish a whole lot *during* that season. Aside from this one game, against a team that seemed to be trying to get it's coach fired.

  6. I remember the PA announcer was cranked up so some of what we would normally hear from the booth was covered by that. It was just not a big deal IMO; even then, at 15, I was sophisticated enough to not need them yammering at me. And who here among us hasn't been in a sports bar where they had all the games playing but only one with audio? Once in a blue moon something confusing happens that requires a verbal explanation, but most of these guys think they get paid by the word and wouldn't be missed in the least if someone "accidentally" pulled the plug on them.

  7. One of ASU's recent punters before Turk was Matt Haack, who has been on the Dolphins the last couple years; Turk is 10x better than Haack. He is the best punter ASU has had in the 25 years I've been following them, and 2nd place is closer to last place than it is to Turk. I am shocked no one signed him, but it has been reported that he just didn't perform very well (other than the zillion bench presses) at the combine. Which goes to show that NFL decision makers really do pay more attention to the combine and less to the games than they claim.

Actually Edwards started a season 5-0 IIRC until Adrian Wilson ended him.  He was never the same after that.  It was a hit that would have brought a hefty fine now days.

This is a myth that apparently will never end. First off, Edwards went 4-0 against 4 of the worst teams in the league that season.  I believe he threw 4 TDs in the 4 games, so he didn't even contribute that much. Yeah, it was a rough hit. And the first game after he came back he had the best game of his career. Had a couple decent ones later on, too. The problem the rest of that season was the schedule toughened up and exposed his complete lack of sense of urgency to, you know, score points. If you are generous to him, you can feel that the folllowing seasons revealed a delayed reaction to the hit; it is just as likely that defenses realized they didn't need to worry about covering passes more than 10 yards downfield.

  9. I don't know what was on that N'Keal Harry video...I didn't bother watching it because I saw almost all of the kid's games...but I can't imagine that it shows him making so many catches against his body that it is a serious issue. It just is not what I've seen over the past three seasons. As I said before, I can buy into the idea he could get marked down on speed. And I'm not seeing him as anyone's primary punt returner, but I can see him filling in there competently if needed. And lastly, the comparisons to Benjamin are garbage. That guy was a one trick pony...catching fades in one-on-one coverage. He never showed the skill that Harry has right now at creating space for himself and for gaining yards after the catch, and he's been chronically out of shape at least since he got hurt in his 2nd season.

  10. I've been following Arizona State since 1995 and N'Keal Harry is the first Sun Devil I've rooted for the Bills to use a 1st rd pick on in all that time. The draft experts have him going late 1st; I haven't heard a straight answer about what they are dinging him for, but I suspect it is raw speed. If he runs faster than expected at the combine, everyone will probably like him a lot more. He is 6'4" and near 220; he makes contested catches; he is a strong runner after the catch; he was effective returning punts. He seems like a decent kid and teammate. The best comparison to a Bills player I could make is he's like a bigger version of Moulds.

  11. Another factor could be that the Bills were more than a month from the regular season while Hamilton was already into it's regular season. This favors them in two ways: the obvious one that we all see in the present day is that execution is often a mess in preseason; the other issue is pro football players had jobs in the offseason back then and couldn't work out 7 days a week, so they really needed the longer training camp and extra games to get in shape.

I think Chris Johnson was similarly unproductive in college. Saying that he might have been the best player at the senior bowl. I think he would be the perfect fit behind Shady. Athletically he is very similar to Adrian Peterson. I think if you just have him make one cut and go he will be a better NFL player than college player.

This is absolutely plausible; it should also be noted that his stats were a bit diminished because he was splitting carries with a kid named Demario Richard who was his opposite; if anyone digs up a highlight reel of Richard's from youtube, you won't see him blowing the doors off like Ballage's video above; you'll see him just mashing people between the tackles and dragging guys 4 or 5 yards. But he's smaller and considerably slower than Ballage and obviously less of a pro prospect.

  13. I saw almost every game this guy played for ASU and he was a bit of a disappointment. I think ability-wise, there are few who can match him. Size and speed are exceptional. He just didn't seem to have good running back instincts. And sometimes it seemed like he was easier to get to the ground than you would think from looking at him. Ballage's big highlight, by a mile, was a game against Texas Tech two years ago when he scored 8 TDs in a game ASU won despite giving up about 6 million yards to Mahomes. I think 6 of the TDs came from the wildcat (which you aren't allowed to call it at ASU for obvious reasons).

He is definitely someone worth taking a chance on; just a question of when. I'd say 4th round at best. Might figure it out; might also be better off trying to be a WR or maybe a move to defense...safety or OLB.

  14. So for the jets games would i have to actually watch the games on tv because theyre in my market

As I understand it, the Albany TV market is designated by the NFL as New York-primary and Buffalo-secondary. So if the Bills are on CBS and not playing at the same time as the Jets (or Giants, in the rare case they are on CBS), WRGB (mostly) shows the Bills. I know this because for some reason my Poughkeepsie based TW Cable offers WRGB, even though it also has WCBS and every other over-the-air channel from NYC. A quick check of the schedule leads me to believe it is possible that WRGB will air as many as 7 Bills games this year: weeks 2,5,12-15, and 17 (It is possible a game or two scheduled on Fox will be aired in Albany, too, but I didn't check that because I only get NYC Fox). I have no idea how this will affect that Game Pass deal; I'm just letting you know that (potentially; I wouldn't assume anything) a lot more than just the games against the Jets will air in Albany.

  15. If have to throw Gary Marangi's name into this competition. In 11 games in 1976, Marangi's completed 35% of his passes with 7 TDs and 16 INTS.

While I still lean toward Mathison, this is a good candidate, too. He was brutal; there would have been no single game record or final rushing title for OJ without this clod scaring the coaches away from throwing when behind. But again, I've got nothing to offer on anyone who took snaps prior to Ferguson.
