  1. Of course he's right with regard to the last two games. But everybody said the same thing about the Pats after they lost 2 straight; and they destroyed the Jets last night. Every team in the league (beside the packers) has played really badly at least twice. This Bills team is not as bad as they looked the last two games.
  2. gotta love the freudian slip in the espn headline: "Buffalo Bills contract Mike Shanahan about coaching opening" http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4667849
  3. Jason Fox (Sr LT, Miami) is a beast. i'm surprised he's not in here.
  4. no, this is not how the wildcat works. putting roscoe in as a running "qb" is just a half-field end around. wildcat works for miami as a power rushing formation, and it most importantly is a different line formation where extra linemen (not tackles not TEs) are stacked to the same side as the full back and a runner who can break additional tackles runs behind a lead blocker. if your qb outruns his blockers he wont ever get to the second level. here's a good article that breaks it down nicely: http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10...-wildcat-works/
  5. winfield and clements cant count as 90's bills (clements was drafted in 2001 winfield in 99). besides nate odomes what bills rookie db had more than 25 tackles and 2 picks? plus mckelvin averaged 28+ per return, that's insane for a rookie and worth a roster spot even if you do give up something on defense (which i still say you dont) http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McKeLe99.htm
  6. roscoe and mckelvin are better returners than anybody we had in the 90's (sorry beebe). But roscoe's not making that team as a receiver. mckelvin could be the nickel (somebody else mentioned this too) and kick returner
  7. this is a tough game to call, both the bills offense and pats d are unknowns at this point. there's pluses and minuses for both. The pats lose seymour, but maybe they dont need him going against a rookie/makeshift o-line. they also added springs who may or may not shut down TO bills o-line is suspect, but trent is a year older, and does make good decisions when he's not concussed. plus TO, minus lynch.... still, i think we're gonna need some surprises to stay in this game. bills d (and special teams) should be good this year, but probably not good enough to stop brady from putting up a few tds. i think we'll be dependent on them producing a few great field position and/or points for the bills to not get blown out.
