  1. How do you know this? They haven't played a single down in the NFL, let alone been to minicamp or training camp. Nix is a top flight talent evaluator, proven thru numerous drafts in San Diego. No offense, but if there is a discrepancy between who you think is good and who Nix thinks is good, I would side with Nix 1000 times out of 1000.

That is true. However, Nix's drafts have been progressively worse (I am looking at rds 2+). Granted 2004 was simply amazing (and somehow he passed on Losman in '04).

The disapproval of Jerry Sullivan is well documented on this board. I have generally supported his point-of-view because over the past ten years, he has been proven correct more often than not. This time I believe Jerry's negativity is unjustified. His main complaint is that we didn't draft a franchise QB. Well Jerry, outside of Sam Bradford who was drafted, um let me see, oh yeah, #1 overall, the consensus opinion was that all of the other prospects were surrounded with question marks.

    another good summary.

Buffalo: This is why Buffalo picks in the top 12 every year. Torrell Troup isn't ready to start. Alex Carrington is a bit of a project. They drafted a situational running back when they don't have much of an offensive line or nose tackle. How many games is Buffalo going to win with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Brohm and Trent Edwards? This draft was an absolute joke and this team isn't going anywhere. I encourage all Buffalo fans to riot at Bills headquarters tomorrow. This was a pathetic performance and we will see over the next two years why it was such a terrible draft. Spiller's occasional playmaking ability saves this from an "F" grade.

    Grade: D-

i guess the idea is to punt on 2010, go after jake locker with the first pick in 2011, then go LT at the top of rd 2.

  3. After picking a part time running back in the 1st round I believe this draft will go down as one of the worst ever for the Bills. There is not one player that I can say WOW we got this guy.

I cant see it possibly being worse than this.

I predict 4-12, winning 1 of the last 2 games and missing out on jake locker.

  4. Then don't. But cut the whining like a girl. Come on here and tell us why they are inept? Because they focused on Defensive lineman who can help stop the gashing they took the past SEVERAL YEARS in the run game? You didn't mind the Jets rushing for over Two hundred yds? TWICE. Or Miami? They only get one pick per round. They got a guy who can score from anywhere on the field in a variety of ways, something they haven't had in decades. Sue them for that. They take two big defensive linemen who specialize in run stopping. Sounds good to me.

INEPT. None of the GMs had/have any idea of what they are doing.

Here is a review how good teams are made, idiot.

  5. i've been a fan before most of you were born. went to the 3 afc championships games. the 4th was in miami you know.

completely sick of this team. arguably the worst drafts in the last 10 years of any team including the raiders.

it is simply a waste of time to follow ineptness. or think that somehow it will turn around

    the nfl formula in order:

    1. Great QB.

    2. Protect the QB.

    3. Attack the QB.

what do we have. certainly not 1, although we had 2 shots at the top ranked QB according to many

    #2? LOLOL

    maybe improved 3. whatever.

i can guarantee the bills will be choosing top 10 for the next 5 years. enjoy!!!!!!

  6. It seems like we're always selecting between #11-#13 the last few years. It's never high enough to be able to get a blue chip prospect but it's at the top end of the next tier of players. I would like to see us be able to have the resource to be able to move up into the top 6 or 7 picks where a team stands the chance of taking a top tier prospect.

In general I agree with trading down, although for the most part, #11s of years past have been very successful (so I dont agree with 'its not high enough'):

    2007 - patrick willis

    2006 - jay cutler

    2005 - demarcus ware

    2004 - ben rothlisberger

    2003 - marcus trufant

    2002 - dwight freeney

    2001 - dan morgan

    2000 - ron dayne (!)

    1999 - dante culpepper

  7. Very good. If the Bills could get him for a 4th round pick that would be nice. I mean if Carolina is looking at a second for Peppers. And Cassell and Vrabel were traded for a second. Then why couldn't the Bills get him for a fourth or maybe even a fith round pick?

I'd trade a 4th for scheffler in a heartbeat. Sure there are a lot of TEs in the draft but those are the proverbially crapshoot.

  8. Here's my question: Why are so many conservatives (many "God fearing") such unfeeling and insensitive douchebags?

Is it hard to feel sorry for someone who may be, in many ways, responsible for his own problems? Why are those two things mutually exclusive?

You can be deadbeat trash, and responsible for your actions, and still be a victim, of sorts, and deserving of some compassion. Think more "Jesus and Mary Magdalene" and less "KKK".

'in many ways, responsible'?? He is fully responsible for his own problems. No one made him have sex with all those women. That was his and their choice - he knew what could happen. One would think after number, say 4 or 5, he might catch on. He needs to deal with it, not play a victim.

Why are 'feelings' more important than one's behavior? Whatever happened to personal responsibility? And there is nothing funnier than liberals lecturing about religion.

  9. If you want to put things into perspective a little, at their respective combines Miller ran a 4.79 and Pettigrew ran a 4.87. So you're really splitting hairs there. Also, I personally think Pettigrew had a slow day for himself running and that he could drop that down into the low 4.7 range easily. There had been reports (accurate or not, who knows) of him running in the 4.5-4.6 range in the past, so who knows what could happen with his 40 time at his pro-day and beyond.

Heard the stopwatch was slightly slow at the combine, I'm guesing around 4.75-4.8 more likely.

Still think the ideal scenario is trade down to around 15-20, draft pettigrew there.

Based on projections, sould be some sack masters available in rd 2, even maybin's stock is falling. Might be able to trade up earlier and get him.

LB in rd 1 might be safer, but another offensive weapon would be huge.

  10. I hope he plays like heck and helps our offense for 1 yr and then moves on. Just can't see him longer than that in Bflo.

Who knows, maybe... just maybe.....He'll get to carve the roast beast!

moves on? yes, lets get josh reed or hardy back at 2nd WR. lol.

  11. Well, I agree with you there...

anyone who doesnt like this is just crazy.

one year deal. reasonable money for top wr. vastly improved offense on paper.

playing it safe has got us nothing but mediocrity. we needed to take a chance. lets support it and see what happens - add a TE and we have some serious weapons!

  12. But some of the sh-- i read on this board is unbelievable.

The gist(sp?) of the stuff i read on here is this "WE DONT HAVE TALENT!!!!!!WE NEED PLAYMAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!WE NEED GAME-CHANGERS!!!!!!!!!WE NEED BALLHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!"

So, then you guys defend the Florence signing, and say you love it. I even read that someone(Dawgg) thinks Florence could be an upgrade.

If you guys could find me someone who made more plays and changed more games for our defense last year than Greer I'd appreciate it.

Go ahead and tell me 7 mil is too much for him, but you wanna pay Florence 3.3???

Like I said, I'm sure plenty of people on here have level heads and are smart. I don't mean to attack you. But Jesus Christ, if you're supporting the FO saving 3.7 mil to go from Greer to FLorence, then you're ridiculous. Especially considering we're nowhere near the cap.

greer is just not a difference maker. solid but not worth the salary.

florence did not fit in at jax. he will get burned often. at this time next year, we will probably say he sucks. but he does have talent.

  13. Doug Flutie

    Drew Bledsoe

    Trent Edwards

    Todd Collins

    JP Losman

    Rob Johnson

I reserve the right to bump Edwards up 2 spots or down 3 spots over the next 1 - 3 years.

that's where i'd put em too.

can't believe johnson had 109 sacks in 26 games. thats even worse than i remember, and i remember it was awful.

  14. Coles is a slightlty above average number two WR at this point of his career. I don't think he's all that better than Josh Reed, either. Without even thinking about his contract, I could care less that he's a bengal. If the Bills had a playoff caliber team, maybe sign him as a compliment player and overpay a little but we got much bigger issues. I'd like to see the team trade for or draft someone better than Coles.

c'mon, he's way better than reed, who is a borderline WR3 (but could be effective in that role). almost certainly not worth $7M for the expected production, however.
