  1. This is not about being classy or PR. Its one more piece of gaining an understanding of what winning teams do. How they behave, how they prepare, how they lead, how they interact. I know the Superbowl teams weren't perfect in all of these areas, but they surely had some sucess.

This guy is a student of the game. Didn't come here thinking he has all the answers.

  2. Just to be clear, was at the game with program in hand. TB had mostly 3rd string front 7 in the game to start second half. A few numbers i couldnt even find on the roster. There was no pressure and our receivers were coming wide open. Even then, EJ was late and high with throws. The honest truth is, he is stiff in his movement and either lacks confidence and/or is slow to process information.

  3. Am I the only one who scanned the topic titles recently and saw that the Bills have been applying quality control standards on the Jills followed by Stevie saying "i'm confident in the squad so far". He really does a little bit of everything for us now doesn't he...

  4. I am worried when I see Goodwin and Woods on kickoff coverage from an injury perspective, but when you are at the game and watch Goodwin run freely straight down field it is a freakish site. He gains 5 yards on his teammates by the 50 yard line. It honestly looks like he is about to leave the ground and take off in the air.

  5. Not sure if you could see it on TV, but the Bengals typically only sent 2 maybe 3 players out in pass patterns. That left 7-8 guys (11-2-QB) to block the blitzes that have been so effective for us in past games. The result was a ton of double teams. I guess Pettine should have made an adjustment, but he didn't seem to.

By the way, Giovani Bernard is as fast as any RB I have seen. Kiko would react immediately to him leaking out into the flat, but could never quite get there in time. You could say he kept taking the wrong angle, but the right angle would have been to meet him 10 yards downfield. He just kept thinking he could get to the right spot at the line of scrimmage and couldn't.

  6. Still can't figure this one out. Almost 100% of people would like CJ's chances of juking a defender one on one in open space. In this scenario he would be carrying a football and the defender could use his hands all he wants. In a pass route, CJ would not be burdened with carrying a ball and the defender is significantly limited as to how much contact he can have. How would he not be open 90% of the time?

  7. here is what I saw today. Fitzy was in total control and accurate. Young doesn't move his feet after he sets, so if the primary wr is not open he throws awkwardly in a different direction. Very inaccurate. At WR Hagen, Clowney and Jones all looked very good. Clowney really impressed me. Brock was a surprise at TE. Fred looked as good as ever. He took a screen pass and exploded like we are accustomed to seeing. Then he ran a route from motion in the red zone that didn't look like a normal route, but Fitz knew exactly where he would be (TD). McKillup looked too slow and Tank too small. The real story was Gilmore. I spent the most time watching him. When he knew who he was covering, he was good ( although he did get turned around twice). The scary thing was 50% of the time he didn't seem to know who to cover. Both in zone coverage as well as facing trips, he frequently ended up doubling someone and leaving a guy open, I deduced that it was his fault because a coach kept talking to him. Not time to panic, its early. But it was concerning. Lastly, Eddins and Jasper went at it. Not sure what started it but Eddins was out of his mind pissed. It was hottttttt there.

  8. He was on the field with Brad Smith as he normally is, but several times (more and more as the game went on) he lined up in the first line of guys closest to the ball. Sometimes in the second line. The first time I noticed it was during the premature on side kick attempt, so I just assumed that Chan had sniffed that out. But if that was the case, why not have a "hands team" out there? All the other guys were the regulars. Makes me wonder if we are not setting up a reverse down the road sometime.

  9. I know I should wait at least 24 hours to ask this question, but as we become legit contenders I can't help but wonder. Can the style offense we are running, be successful in the poor weather later in the year? Maybe since it is a relatively short passing game, based more on Fitzy's guile, the cold and snow won't have too much impact. Thoughts?
