  1.

I also thought Matt Stevens was horrible horrible horrible at safety for us. Very few players have I been sure didn't deserve to be on the field at all, but he was one. (Side note: he had a motorcycle accident and became paralyzed in 2007. Story here.)

Wasn't Stevens nailed for peds which led the Bills to dump him just after his rookie year? He was ultimately a journeyman, but I not sure he was the worst safety the Bills fielded.

  2. For every Kaepernick/RGIII/Luck, there's two or three Tebows, Gabberts, Lockers, Ponders, Kolbs, Cassels. Too many people look backwards with 20/20 hindsight and talk about how all the "professionals" should have been able to predict who would be great and who would be busts. There's simply no way to predict with unfailing accuracy who will be great and who will be average.

Tom Brady had to endure *six* other QBs being selected before him before New England threw him a bone. That's every single team in the league passing on one of the NFL's best QBs in history.... numerous times. And yet you are ready to burn Buddy Nix in effigy for not selecting Kaepernick when the defense was ranked in the bottom of the NFL for several years.

Fitz was so bad in 2012 (83.3 QB rating) that he was only a few points better than Andrew Luck (76.5). And Fitz didn't have Reggie Wayne to throw to.

Fitz may not be elite status, but to throw him under the bus is just plain stupid. The odds of getting a rookie who will outperform a veteran when the current roster is so devoid of receiving talent seems ludicrous. But flip that same argument to the receivers and the odds of getting a WR who can outperform the others are actually very good. Any GM should look at which position will receive a BIGGER upgrade, WR or QB? And at the moment, the odds favor the WR position.

Flacco did perform wonderfully in the Super Bowl. But it's also pretty evident that Boldin, Jacoby Jones, Dennis Pitta and Torry Smith are talents that make the Bills receivers look like high schoolers. Boldin and Jones could arguably have been the games MVPs. Boldin was a BEAST in that game who made clutch catch after clutch catch to keep the sticks moving.

Fitz' repetoire of throws is painfully limited. He could have the 89' Nners skill guys on the recieving end instead of the Bills group of no-bodies and it wouldn't make a lick of difference.

  3. UDFA are 'worth a look'. A team in need of so many basic building blocks can not afford to toss away draft picks in rounds 2-4.

Tebow would be a worse pick than Maybin, but I wouldn't put it past the Bils, since short-term ticket sales are clearly more important to them than building long term success.

If this kid is as athletic, talented, (and big) on the college level as advocates say, I have no problem with the Bills bringing him in with a 3 or 4 if he lasts. Just like I would have felt better about the Maybin pick as a later round project, if they landed Oher with the 1. The Bills penchant for overvaluing prospects in defiance to reality is just as disturbing as their attempts to convert every pick from what they are into something they're not.

  4. Averaging over 100 yards rushing per game and these names compared to our current O-line, come on, give it up.

Our current O-line doesn't even come close and if you think the Bills 96 O-line was real bad it just goes to show how pathetic our O-line really is now because Fitz would kill to have that O-line. The 96 O-line would knock our current O-line on its ass.

What first hand knowledge do you have about the Bills 1996 season or line? You were what, about 10? Name recognition and 'statistical analysis' aside, you have no clue.

Then again, you're the contrarian who rejects the notion of gravity even when the rock bonks you on the head.

  5. I don't know about the worst, but he's not very good, that's for sure. I watched him on 2 run plays wrap up thr ball carrier around the shoulders and get carried for an additional 2-3 yards. He needs to tackle lower and take out the feet of the ball carrier or come in with more force, because I'm tired of watching him get piggy backed down the field.

This is correct. For a guy who weighs 240, he gets dragged a lot. I see him as serviceable, no more.

We can get into the 'whole versus the sum of it's parts dialogue' to defend his play, but Poz hasn't shown much in a position where instinct and athleticism can trump experience (or a weak defense line).

  6. What's up with Edwards' hair? He obviously spends alot of time blow drying and thinks he looks good I'm sure. Someone should tell him that instead of looking like a playa' he looks creepy like Chekov from Star Trek.

That Oasis thing is so 1993.

  7. I'd tap that, no questions asked

You'd tap your sister (or your trusty tube sock), no questions asked, so that's not saying much.

Rhianna is a pretty girl, but got pretty skanky post beat-down just like Brittany during her 'lost year'. Unflattering haircut and prison tattoos aside, it would be difficult to assess the toxic shock potential of any tryst with her.

There's a slew of unattainable celebrity ass out there that's more desirable.

  8. God forbide people people let the stats get in the way. Poz is not the problem with this defense. Him and Byrd and Magee and Kiawalka are the only ones I'd keep in the back 7.

Linebackers should have the bulk of the tackles. Hell, Ellison has had double digit tackle games this year. Does that make him better than mediocre? Watch any game and you'll see 'backers making explosive or disruptive plays. The Bills do not. That includes Poz, who may be a serviceable part of a starting linebacker corps, but should never be the focal point based on what he's shown.

Mitchell would be better in a situational role when blitzes are called. Though pretty unreliable in the open field, he has shown he can make big plays on occasion, and seems to be the closest the Bills have to a starting linebacker in terms of ballast. I don't know if what he earns jibes with the idea of him as a part time player, but I wouldn't be reluctant at all to show him the door at the end of the season if the club decides to fumigate.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they didn't take that Cincy USC backer in the 2nd round.
