  1. Rookie interior lineman drafted high (1st day picks) have great sucess rates as starters in their first year. Most importantly, the top tear players have played fantastically and we grabbed two of the 3 (Alex Mack went 21st).

    In 2005

Chris Spencer, Logan Mankins, David Baas and Marcus Johnson drafted in the first two rounds, only one Bass hasn't lived up to that billing and both Spencer/Mankins started off the bat.

    2006

Davin Joseph, Nick Mangold, Duece Lutui, Daryn Collegde, Ryan Cook, Chris Chestor, and Jason Spitz, Charles Spencer in the 3rd. The first four are all starter and only Lutui wasn't starting his rookie. Spitz the 4th center taken started his rookie year with Collegde in GB.

    2007

Ben Grubs, Aaron Sears, Justin Blayock, Ryan Khalil, Sameson Satele. The guards (who all weren't guards) Grubs, Sears and Blayock all started as rookies and our good players (Sears career may be threatened due to concussion problems). Satele started as a rookie but is no longer with the fins and while sitting a year Khalil is the center of one of the best o lines in football. Marsha Yanda was the first guard taken in the 3rd that year as well started as a rookie. The Iowa lineman is similar in size to and demeanor to Levitre and like Andy shifted from tackle to guard.

2008 was a poor year for interior linemen but as you can see the highly touted guys still played good

Chico Rachil, and Mike Pollack were the only two Interior Lineman drafted in the first day, both guys started last year and like Wood Pollack moved from center to guard. Jeremy Zuttah was the only other interior linemen drafted in the first 3 rounds and now he will start if Sears can't be cleared medically.

  2. I'm not necessary excited about this Oline this year, I'll take that with two rookies filling in. What I'm excited is about that they went out an actually drafted some interior linemen early. There building for the future but I fully expect these two rooks to not only start but to play well. Over the last 5 or 6 years, the top interior linemen in the draft have started early and played extremely well. Wood is going to be the best draft pick this century, the kid is the next Logan Mankins.

  3. Kerney is the left DE, so he plays against the RT. The right DE last year, who was up against Langston, was Lawrence Jackson. Jackson had two sacks all of last year. Way to go, Langston, for stopping this ravening sack monster.

Actually Tapp was the starter that game at RDE, while not a sack monster he did have 5.5 last year and 7 the year before. He's not a beast but he's solid and most importantly not the guy you were trying to use to slam Langston. Geez, if your gonna talk trash you should get your facts straight so you don't sound silly.

  4. because it's not. Folks who looked at the tape last year had Peters down for between 5 and 8 sacks, most of which came early in the year when he was not playing at his best.

Ya Peters finished the season strong all right, Porter abused him for two sacks in Toronto and the following week Pace out worked him for a sack FF in the Meadowlands. This is also not including the sack by Elam to end the drive. What's the best way to finish the season strong, pulling up lame with an injury that should not knock and o lineman out for two games. Ya, Peters was dominant at the end of the season.

  5. If the truth was not so bad this might be funny.

IF it were true. HOW did Chad and Matt and old man Favre get to sweep the Bills? I can't recall the last time the entire AFCE swept the Bills.

I believe it was 15 years ago, that's why there is no way in heck we get swept again. We win at least 3 division games.

  6. I don't know where you get your info, Senor Dumbass Supreme, but he clocked a 4.68/forty time.

First of all that's why all the scouts like him moving from CB to Safety but seriously 40 times is the worst way to measure a football players playing speed. The guy has good size for a FS and explodes to the ball. His size and speed may not be good for a corner but it is for a safety. :D

  7. total speculation and i have espn insider. it was generated from the chicago tribune yesterday after NE did not sign Pisa.

all they base everything on is that he played for lovie and what a wonderful time he had visiting the bears.

think about that if that was all true why is it 3 days after NE spurned Pias and he has yet to sign with his beloved bears. its not going to require any big negotiations its way to late for that.

its down to money and who is going to give him the better deal the bills or the bears.

as far as starting he has more competioion in chicago to start here he only would have to beat out ellison.

i love how all these chicago writers have him signed sealed and delivered to chicago. the only problem is none of it is based in fact only their opinions.

Ya I feel the same way, and boy are those chicago beat writers homers. I just wish the Bills would up there ante.
