  1. Love reminiscing with this post. A lot of good memories. Thanks... Glad to see Lucious Sanford mentioned. Also, loved tackling my brothers using the Tony Greene 'At the knees' tactic.

Thought I would add a couple additional names I loved to watch, Kenneth Davis and Roland Hooks. Both were underrated, playing second fiddle, but always seemed to shine when given the chance. They were the precursor to the Fred Jackson style of football. Do whatever is needed to get the job done.

    Thanks again...

  2. I don't contradict with my second point. Totally different situation. With my first point, there is 32 minutes of football left to play. Assuming that you will win the game with only 10 points at that point is not a good way to play. Unfortunately, Buffalo has been playing that way far too long... And they usually end up on the wrong side.

  3. Regarding the end of the first half, the bigger issue is why the Bills did not call timeout before Miami punted the ball to us. We could have had the ball with just under two minutes to play. Instead, we had the ball with just over a minute. Good coaches would have given their team a chance to score some points instead of running out the clock.

Additionally, at the end of the same game, with around six minutes left in the game, and up by 13, we were snapping the ball with 15 seconds left on the play clock. We kicked the field goal with 15 seconds left on the play clock!! Sometimes the hurry-up offense is a detriment, especially when you are winning the game. Running out the clock is your friend.

  4. Time and time again, I painfully watch the Bills waste precious time during the game.

We are down by two touchdowns, and you waste 25 seconds at the end of the third quarter, and then in the forth quarter , you continue to drive with no sense of urgency. How many touches does an offense get during a quarter? At what point does Gailey wake up and say... hmmm... I guess we should hurry up and try to score quickly since we are down by 7, 14 points.

When we are trailing, we should try to create as many opportunities to get as many offensive playcalls as possible. It should be on the team that is winning to run the clock out, not the team that is losing.

Even the Belisucks of the world know this. You would never see the Pats or any other winning teams play this way.

Chan Gailey has always played this way... And I can't take it anymore!!!!

  5. Our receivers were being defensed by man-to-man coverage, and they dared us to throw long. And we take one shot (that I can recall) all game long. That is pathetic. You have to make some attempts to keep them honest. You either trust that Fitzpatrick can throw the ball or get him out of there. His arm is not that weak. Everyone and their brother knew what Houston was going to do on defense. I would have done the same freaking thing. I agree... mind-numbing. Expect the same next week, with a whole lot of Wes Welker included.

  6. Five weeks into the season... Having a lot of fun. Hope it continues..

    My observation....

It seems to me that the first 3 games in which we were behind, we made adjustments at the half to really take control.

During the last two weeks, we had the lead at half. And we continue to do the same thing in the second half.

It seems that we don't assume that the other team will make adjustments to combat what we have been doing in the first half.

Nobody loves Fred Jackson more than I do, but if the entire Eagles team has changed their gameplan to stop Freddy, you should adjust. The Bills almost gave up this game by relying totally on Freddy late in the game. Being at the game, I could see that Fred was being held on several plays as he was trying to get open for the short pass. The Eagles 2nd half game plan was to stop Fred jackson (I don't blame them). With that being the case, use Freddy as a decoy. Not sure why Chan and staff did not see this.

We can't rely on turnovers, offsides, and holding calls to save our butts every week. Chan needs to assume the opposing team will make adjustments at half. Make our own adjustments at half when we are winning, to combat their adjustments.

By the way, can I get an insurance policy on Fred Jackson? If he gets hurt, we are screwed.

    Go Bills!!!!
