  1. Oh look, someone telling me what to do with my money again....

Dude, your approach doesn't work, get over it. You either support the team or you don't. If you don't, then fine, give us all your "I quit this team" thread, we'll all make fun of you and remind you how much you won't be missed, and then you'll find your peace of mind.

    c-ya.

    Must suck being you.

    Rude, obnoxious, STUPID.

You probably ARE better off spending your money on the Bills. You're throwing it away with them, but at least you get a few beers out of it. I'd HATE to see what would happen if an !@#$ like you spent it on an education.

  2. Why is all the information conflicting? This doesn't even make sense. Fewell was promised an interview and this doesn't address the Rooney Rule.

Fewell, or some other black coach will be interviewed...worry not.

The most useless rule in the NFL will not be ignored.

And before any of you morons go off calling me racist, what I mean by the above is that the rule does nothing to help black coaches actually get HIRED.

  3. I used to go to the Bills Backers group here in St. Louis. But the team is playing so pathetic, even when they win it is ugly. The offense makes me sick.

As long as Jauron is in charge, it will be difficult for me to do anything except read about them and follow the highlights. It's embarrassing.

I visited with you guys during the Miami game this year at Ozzie's. I was the guy visiting my sick grandmother in St. Louis, but currently live in Florida. Did I encounter you?

  4. 1. It's tacitly, not "tactitly," which is not a word. But you're right, Snyder does not know tact.

    2. This has nothing to do with free speech rights, because FedEx Field is not a public forum.

    3. The Redskins play in Maryland.

    4. President Obama has nothing to do with this, but nice of you to bring up our Commander in Chief. Funny, I've never heard the Right criticize the media. Oh, wait, yes I have. ALL THE TIME. Now wave your flag and support our President!

    5. I note how Snyder's lawyers and press people helped us realize that the true victim is the team, and not the unemployed woman. I was in real danger of getting it screwed up, myself, and thinking that the woman was the victim.

    6. They should riot and give Snyder hell.

No, thanks. The left wouldn't support Bush, either, so don't give me that crapola. Take your Gestappo act elsewhere.

  5. Don't know why but I have a good feeling about this game. They may beat the Jets if these things happen.

    1. Marshawn goes crazy and get 120 yds rushing.

    2. They huddle up for most of the game and take the pressure off Trent.

    3. T.O scores and has at least 5 catches.

    4. Bills get a Defensive touchdown.

    5. Poz has breakout game after being pissed about breaking his arm again.

    6. Roscoe makes up for last weeks fumble with a punt return score.

    7. Bills will play hard and try to get an AFC east win.

I know what your thinking but I'm a diehard fan. I still have hope that at least for one game they will surprise us.

    8. Your crackpipe gets a heavy dosage of Bohemian Glory, so you can hallucinate your way to that upset.

  6. For now, I've just stopped caring about the Bills. I'm sick of feeling like **** for two days following a loss when the team, from the owner to the coach to the players, don't seem to give a damn. I can't jump ship though and suddenly become a fan of another team. I've been in Charlotte since the inception of the Panthers. It was exciting to witness their run to Superbowl 38. Cars driving around with Panther flags, everyone talking football, people who usually didn't watch football getting into it. But it's just not the same.

For better or worse, the Bills are in my blood, ingrained from my earliest memories. I've done a lot of traveling and relocating in my lifetime and steadfastly defended my hometown team every step of the way. The fact that a Dick Jauron coached football team has finally made me stop caring is quite an achievement.

I admire your loyalty. Honestly. I wish I could be that loyal. If they were just BAD, I could be. It's being this bad and seemingly getting worse that bothers me, and that the ownership just doesn't seem to CARE.

I reserve that sort of loyalty for my wife. The whole "thick and thin" thing.

A couple of years ago, I just sort of woke up and said, "why be this loyal to an NFL team when there are 31 other teams I can watch?".

And this is just a question for you...not picking on you at all, but just a curious thing for me. If the seemingly inevitable happens and this team moves on to pastures in LA, Toronto, or wherever, will you still continue that loyalty, or will you be angry for it, or what WILL you feel like?

  7. Its simple but it's working for me this year: Pick a second team that's fun to watch, get the NFL ticket and follow them all year.

My son likes the Vikings, so I gave in this year and got a jersey. We bought the Vikings NFL yearbook for 2009 (Favre wasn't even on the team at that point). I even get to root for Big Pat and Antoine Winfield again.

In todays world, it's easier to follow an out of town team than it was to follow your LOCAL team 15 years ago. Websites, the NFL ticket, streaming radio stations from everywhere in the nation, TIVO. It used to be that you had no choice because the only coverage you could get was from your local radio and newspaper. That has completely changed.

I prefer a big HD screen and having friends/family over than risking the cash and an entire day to drive from Rochester and see a game. If you have kids, they mostly end up watching the good plays on the jumbotron anyways because everyone stands when the Bills have a big play (IF they have a big play) and the shorter people can't see anything anyway.

Admittedly, I'm lucky because if the Vikings were lousy this year I would be stuck with 2 bad teams, but hedging your bet isn't a bad idea. Being an exclusive die hard Bills fan is is like holding on to a bad stock that keeps dropping every year because you've always owned it and you don't know any different.

Take advantage of your options and diversify a little. The game is too much fun to pin all of your hopes on the Bills program.

I have done that in the past, but this season has sparked so much hatred in me for how the team has peformed AND hasn't fired anyone AND lets good offensive linemen go so they can afford the TO freakshow (who, btw, has impressed me thus far for his ability to keep his mouth shut) that I went completely 360 on the team. I live in Florida and root for...THE DOLPHINS. Was a LOT of fun a couple Sundays ago when I attended the Bills/Fins game.

Inside, I feel like a little bit of a traitor, but hey...if the ownership doesn't care about the fanbase, why should I care about the team?

Once Ralph croaks, they're probably gone, anyway.

  8. I'm immature and this made me chuckle.

But I agree with the general idea. Lynch should be very motivated to tear things up and has fresh legs. It seems liek there are more holes in the run game than the pass several seasons. IMO, we have teh best 1-2 combo in the league. Use it and sprinkle in play action.

While I don't necessarily agree with this observation just yet, the sentiment is still understood. It's clear from the way that Freddy has run and what we already know that Lynch brings to the table, and the complete (and baffling) ineptness in the passing game, that pounding the rock is our key to victory. I don't know who should start, and I really don't care. This is our version of thunder and lightning, and we need to give our opponent a steady dose of both.

  9. On a side note, It's been years, and I think he worked for WBEN then, but I met Bulldog at the Bills training camp when it was in Fredonia. Jim Kelly's final year, as I recall it. I'm nobody, and he treated me with decency and had a conversation with me. Stand-up dude, I thought. I always enjoyed his show and followed him when he went over to WGR.

I hear the show on the 'net, as I live in Orlando, and yeah, they can get rude, condescending, and antagonistic. But, you know what? There are two things that come to mind when I hear this. First off, do you want to hear a bunch of "go team" crapola when your team is obviously sucking or needs some changes, or would you prefer to listen to people who are just as pissed off about the loss as you are? I go for the latter. Secondly, are you kidding me? People in or from Buffalo having the nerve to call another Buffalonian out for being rude and condescending?? It's in your freaking DNA, people!

    Teapot=Kettle=Black

I never read buffalobills.com...I don't want puff. I want the real deal. I want to revel in a win and have company in my pain in a loss. If I have to listen to people be rude to get that, I'm just fine with it.

  10. Hey gang, I hope you guys don’t mind a Saints fan being here for a bit. I don’t talk trash and I like to be truthful about my team so I wont be an obnoxiously over the top homer.

This is actually the first time I have joined a non division rival’s forum but I decided it would be the best way to learn about a team I don’t know much about (I knew more about them in the day - loved Thurman Thomas and was a huge Bruce Smith fan). I did watch the game against the Pats and I won’t even mention how it ended but I loved what I saw of Edwards and the no huddle scares me with our D. I’m sure you guys can tell me plenty about our DC and I’m looking forward to hearing it. Yes we are all worried about our D here in NOLA but right now our biggest problem is special teams IMO. It was horrible against the Lions and it got better in Philly but still is plenty weak.

Anyway, I look forward to posting with you for the week and maybe beyond if you have me. Ask me anything about the Saints and Ill answer honestly if I know. Thanks. Street

Welcome. Pretty good folks here, for the most part.

As far as the game is concerned, I don't know if NOLA is quite as good as they have opened up the season so far, but I can tell you that Drew Brees is a flat BEAST...he's had a chip on his shoulder since he left 'Diego, and it's showing in his outstanding play.

I don't want to go so far as to say this is going to be a shootout, but it could. Trent has the occassional "turd" game, but he is kinda developing a rep around here as "Captain Checkdown". Last week, he aired out several passes, and I don't know if I saw him do that in 5 or 6 straight games combined last season. If our new OC continues to go for the deep ball and if we can establish our running game to set up the play action to get man coverage on TO and Evans, I'd say the Bills have a shot. If it DOES get into a shootout, you have to like NOLA's chances of winning a bit more with your QB being better than ours.

Gregg Williams..what can we say? We don't like him much around these parts. It's a double-edged sword this week. I do think that the no-huddle is going to throw him off because of his substitution packages, but do we really want to hurry things up so much and give Brees that many more opportunities? Bottom line is this...if the Bills don't finish off their drives, they lose...plain and simple. If we DO, I think our defense is going to be a tad better than NOLA's and make the difference in a Bills victory.

  11. Sadly though the fans will return. Look at this message board for example, if anyone hints at not spending any more money on this team they are cast off like a 1940's communist. It's hilarious actually, I'm not stupid enough to keep giving money to a bucket of shitt, I stopped 3 seasons ago and haven't regretted it since. Bunch of woodchucks here that's the truth.

Ralph laughs at us all the way to the fukking bank.

    Here, here!

Now THERE'S a guy that gets it.

  12. I am all for it. I have to say when all this talk about moving to Toronto started, my stomach was turned in knots for days and days. I was diametrically opposed to it from the beginning, and didn't want anything to do with it. But here is the thing. This team hasn't been relevant in the NFL landscape in over 10 years. I am sorry to say that and it hurts me to say that. It just isn't good enough to field good teams every 20 years in the NFL, with how fast the roster can be tuned over with the ability to spend money and put yourself on an even playing field and by drafting well. I believe we draft fairly well...good enough to be a much better team than we are. The problem is that we are constantly trying to fight against good teams with our hands tied behind our back because we won't spend the money they will.

I honestly would rather see this team move a few miles north and be able to spend the money to bring in good coaches and good players on a consistent basis, rather than watch the current team in Buffalo be mired in mediocrity and constantly trying to sell the hope of next season. I love this team, and am gonna love this team regardless of where they play. I know most people don't feel the same way, and I never thought I would hear myself say that, but I have come to the realization that no matter how many years they spend here, its just not going to happen with the deck becoming more and more stacked against us as other teams build bigger and better stadiums that generate double the revenue that we do in ticket sales just in personal seat licenses every year. Then fans can buy tickets that are priced 2 or 3 times higher than ours. Will extra money guarantee success? No, but it will give the team more options and it will allow them to cut bait if a player is not working and not worry about eating a few million dollars in cap cost. It will allow them to hire coaches that have more than 1 winning season in the NFL or hire new coaches that noone really wants anyways. It will allow them to stop eliminating half the free agent class every year because they can't afford the players. Does anyone think the Jets would be anywhere near as good as they are if they didn't go out and spend a TON of money in the offseason on high ticket free agents and then trade for Favre? The Cowboys go out and get Roy Williams from the Cowboys to line up opposite Terrell Owens and don't worry about the cost. These teams basically walk around with blank checks and go out and do anything they feel will make their team better, regardless of cost. Teams like the Bills walk around and eliminate half their options based on the cost and then are left to choose from the second and third tier free agents. Not to mention they end up having to let their own players walk away because they can't afford to pay them properly(although in some cases its probably a good thing)

Anyways, enough of my ranting and raving. All I want to see is this team win and if it happens to be in another city close by, I am OK with that as long as we still get their games on TV. I will still love this team and its players. I am emotionally drained from living and dying with this team for years and never having anything to show for it. At least bad teams in big markets can keep changing and spending until they get it right. The Bills have to get it right and then have all the breaks go their way to have any chance of winning because they won't spend the money needed to ensure themselves of it. Obviously if another owner buys the team and wants to keep it here and spend the money to bring in a winner, I would love to see the team here. I just don't see how it is going to be possible...

    chuckle, chuckle...heh heh heh.

Really? Is this truly what you are reduced to?

Pssssst. Lean over here and let me tell you a secret. When they move to Toronto, they will no longer be known as the Buffalo Bills....pass it on.

I think you're off the mark, though, when it comes down to "blank checks". There is a salary cap in place. Wilson is just a meiser who won't spend the money because Boofalonians keep filling his seats regardless of how bad the product is. The other part of it is that the real stars won't play there. Why would anyone want to live in Buffalo? I, for one, completely understood what Willis McGahee was talking about when he left that dump, though, I've been to Baltimore, too. Not much of an improvement, let me tell ya.

When the Billies move on for greener pastures in Toronto, they WILL be competitive, because presumably, they won't be owned by Ralph Wilson and free agents will want to play in a dome in one hell of a PARTY TOWN! I've never had more fun than I've had in Toronto when I want to enjoy the nightlife.

I wonder, though. With Rogers going off to that big igloo in the sky, does the move to Toronto appear as obvious as it did before?
